Pinwale Sounds - From Soft Power To Unjust Peace

Published on Dec 17, 2014 Jacques Mongrel

"A futile exercise in relaxation combining a lethargic dance jam with scenes from Mamoru Oshi's movie Patlabor 2 which, amongst other things, ruminates on the notion that developed countries exist in a state of 'unjust peace'. Set in a near future Tokyo, where computer networks and large machines called "Labors" have lead to unprecedented economic prosperity, a terrorist attack is not all that it seems."

1968 WEM HAND-FULL VINTAGE HAND HELD SYNTHESIZER DRUM MACHINE EFFECTS UNIT

SN 00036

"For sale is this vintage 1968 WEM Hand-Full synthesizer noise module. This incredibly rare monosynth, serial number HF 00036, is in extremely clean 100% all original condition. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, this unit is in perfect functional shape. Designed to be held in one hand, but played with both, this psychedelic approach to synthesis was too far ahead of its time. Most similar to today’s Korg Kaos Pad with regard to tactile manipulation and the small simple interface, this hand held synth consists of 4 separate circuits, each of which has 4 basic functions/buttons. Though each circuit board is mono, all four of the boards, as well as the 2 control knobs, interact in a very interesting manner. With squeals, slaps, dive bombs, whistles, and resonant thunder, the Hand-Full might be interpreted by some as a sound effect machine, but in actuality, is somewhat more sophisticated and clearly more musical. While this unit should belong in a museum, it would be an absolute treasure to have in a great studio. Though the serial number suggests that more than 50 were probably made, we’ve only accounted for the potential of a batch of less than 15. Part novelty, part history, this is an incredibly unique synth."

Roland TR-505 Drum Machine Patterns

Published on Dec 17, 2014 Synth Universe

"One of the easiest drum machines to use and my first one I got in about 1988 which was still selling new. Related to the TR-707 but slimmed down to the size of a crappy RX machine. Has better sounds and editing than the RX17 or similar. Love the claps, the kicks, everything about it. Funny enough these can go for crazy prizes, like over $200."

"Another short run item. I am selling off the rest. I have about 25 here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an active multiple using TL074 op amp to copy the signal and repeat the patch. I am using a simple design. What goes in, comes out exactly the same. I am not using resistors to play with the ratio's. I also added a 100k to ground clamp so that you can copy even fast clocks, gates, etc and they will not 'stick' together to make one big pulse. It can be a problem with some multiples.

You get the modules, a ribbon cable, and M3 screws with the sale."

"This was made Dec 15 2014. I installed new modules that are to be released in 2015. This also has a new dc converter power solution.

This sale includes a 24v Adapter to power it up. The IEC cord can be exchanged with your countries IEC cord, the adapter is auto outlet converting for world wide use(110v -220v). I include the USA IEC cord.

This particular case does not have the Midi CV converter. You can purchase a Doepfer Dark Link for that. You can also use a Mini Brute Synth.
Instead this case has just about all the tools for analog sequencing.

This is the module list:
--------------------------------------------------
LMC VCO
TPC VCO
MIX EM UP
PT VCLFO
BARTON DUO Q
SPACEMOTH V3 VCF
LINEAR STEREOSCOPIC VCA

DOS VCF
MINI NOT COMPUTER 16 STEP SEQ
TADPOLE EXPANDER
CMOS CLOCK DIVIDER
ADSR
CMOS PARTY LOGIC

ADSR
ADSR
COBALT SELTER LAB VCF
BARTON V3 ARPEGGIATOR
ASTEROID MINI SYNTH MODULE

The total cost for this version is $4317.50 if you were to buy all the modules yourself and attempt to build one like this."

Details on the Palm Sounds MIDI Thing

You might remember the teaser video from Palm Sounds previously posted here. Details are now in.

Via Palm Sounds:

"We call it MIDI Thing for two reasons.

It's a thing ...

It does MIDI, in fact, it only does MIDI

Which is why it's a ... MIDI Thing!

So, what does it actually do? Good question. Here's an overview:

MIDI Thing is a portable battery powered MIDI looper. It takes a MIDI signal in on any channel and puts the same MIDI data out. So, to give you an example:

If you record a 4 bar bassline on channel 1 it'll continue to play that on channel 1 until you tell it to stop. You then record a chord sequence on channel 2, and it'll put that out on channel 2 as well as the bassline on channel 1. You can do this on all 16 MIDI channels and it'll keep on playing everything until you erase a channel, or switch it off!

It listens on all channels simultaneously so you don't need to do any switching around and it has a very simple interface. In fact, it has just 2 switches on it. One is the on/off switch, the other puts the device into command mode, and this is where it gets clever.

The MIDI Thing get its instructions from what ever keyboard controller is being used for MIDI input. We thought that would make sense as you've already got a keyboard in front of you and you wouldn't want to have to navigate through lots of menus on a tiny box."

See Palm Sounds for additional details.

VINCENT'S DREAMWORLD

Published on Dec 17, 2014 Jason Basson

"It started with a series of notes I entered in the MFB 601-sequencer which resulted in a nice semi-rhythmpattern in 1 MS-10. Then I searched a nice sound on the second MS-10 that went well with the semi-rhythmpattern. Finally I searched a nice starting sound on the Micromoog. This video demonstrates also some nice possibilities of the Micromoog. I already made some years ago a nice video about the Micromoog, which you can find in my videos. Originally the starting sound on the second MS-10 and on the Micromoog sounded slightly different, due to a sound off-knob on my handphone that was active and the knobs that I twisted."
