Huge thanks to all the people that posed for a MATRIXSYNTH T-Shirt, and of course the Denver Synth Meet! Thank you so much! I feel humbled and elated seeing these. Enjoy your Ts! There are a limited number out there.
"Here’s one way to use Analog Keys with a modular synthesizer. This patch turns key presses into CV Gates and turns the Analog Keys LFO into a CV modulator.
Steps:
Once the system is on press CV (the light will turn red).
Hold Function and Press CV A.
Use knob A to select the Gate type in CV A configuration.
Press CV C.
Use knob A to select the LIN VAL type in CV C configuration.
Press No to exit CV configuration.
Press LFO.
Use knobs G or I to assign the Analog Keys LFO to CV C: Value.
The Analog Keys LFO will now modulate the value of CV C and can be triggered via key presses (which generate CV gates). Two CV busses are still free to assign to other modular inputs.
"Something very simple and unremarkable, just killing time. Recorded with an old Lexicon Pantheon reverb and Reaper DAW. The Minibrute's sequencer is also driving the Roland unit."
"This MIDI Moog rack mount synthesizer is in perfect working condition and good physical condition. The front panel is very clean as seen in the photos but there is some rack rash and top part of the unit has some surface scratches. Serviced by Studio Electronics in California 30-45 days ago. Monophonic analog synthesizer with three (3) true analog VCOs, famous low pass filter, two ADR's (attack decay release), a separate LFO, dynamics for velocity keyboards. It sounds like a MINIMOOG because it is a MINIMOOG with MIDI. Free shipping in the USA, elsewhere higher..."
"Another video from my 'glorious entry into 2015' with the new Mutable range. Got a fair bit of footage still of the newer Mutable modules so more to come.
Rough patch notes in the video but no detailed ones (sorry) for this video.

"Planning the Abstract Data demo rig for the Schneiders Booth @ Musikmesse '15 - lots of new modules to show!"
And the first Musikmesse2015 post of the year goes to Abstract Data! For those not familiar with the Musikmesse, it is essentially Europe's version of NAMM. It is HUGE, some say even bigger than NAMM, but I haven't done the research to verify either way myself. This year it is scheduled for April, 15 - 18th. You'll be able to keep track of everything Musikmesse via the Musikmesse2015 channel. I will add a link to the site menu above when posts start trickling in. As usual you can expect an influx of new gear demos and announcements.
"Works great. I purchased used and it shows a little wear but not bad at all except bottom right rack ear got bent when it was shipped to me and bending it back left a sligh crease/mark. (see pictures)
I gotta run right now but I'll try to add more info later and do a demo video. Please ask questions."
"I love this versitile mic pre and have some history with it, it was my first 'real' mic pre and I made an extensive web page about changing the transformers from the PreSonus ones to Jensen. (see my website) These are great, have 8 channels with mic/lin inputs, inserts on every channel, phantom power, a stereo submix output and a great headphone output!
Channels one and two have Jensen transformers and Burr Brown opamps. Channels 3 through 8 have PreSonus transformers and NTI opamps except for channel 5 (or is it 6) has Burr Brown opamps (I had wanted a pair of channels with PreSonus transformers and Burr Brown opamps but one of the Burr Brown chips was defective or marked wrong so I put back in the original chips)
It works and sounds great and I'm sorry to see it go but I can't afford to hang onto stuff I'm not currently using because there are new things I want to buy.
These listed for about $2000 15 years ago and I paid $1800 for it new. I'm asking only $500 plus shipping costs (via PayPal, I pay the fees) or meet me in Tacoma WA USA at a coffee shop and save on shipping."
"I absolutely hate to sell this Aurora Audio GTQ2 Mk2, I've tried half heatedly several times but always end up keeping it. There is some other gear I want for my synth setup though and the only way I can make it happen is to sell some things.
This is an amazing modern Neve style pre.
I purchased it used over 5 years ago and sent it to Geoff Tanner at Aurora Audio and he made sure everything was working perfectly. Then I got wrapped up in doing instrument upgrades and only used my main recording gear a few times since then.
The current MkIII versuion sells for $2600 new and used ones are typically $2100 or more. I'm asking $1900 plus insured shipping costs via PayPal (use "for goods and services", I'll cover the fees). Or if you can get to the North End of Tacoma WA USA I'll meet you at a Starbucks or other coffee shop for local pickup. Power cable and 4 rack screws included.
Rich Formidoni from Korg USA took some time during a recent visit to our studio to play and go through some new features on the Korg KRONOS Music Workstation.
With nine distinct synthesis engines and a complete suite of performance and productions tools, KRONOS is simply the most versatile synthesizer ever made. Onboard effects open the door to processing any internal or external audio source with dazzling results. Multitrack audio and MIDI recording deliver efficient studio operations in a mobile platform. Hands-on hardware includes an assignable control surface, dual joysticks, ribbon controller, top-of-the line keyboard action, and KORG’s tap-and-drag color TouchView display.
Set List mode keeps all of your custom settings and performance notes organized in the display for on-the-fly selection. Smooth Sound Transitions eliminate note and effect dropouts when switching sounds or modes. Connect virtual patch cables, select sounds, plus edit envelopes and sequences—all using the eight-inch color TouchView display. Add to that advanced sequencing, KARMA, and Drum Track composition tools. Enjoy exclusive KORG wavesequencing, MS-20 filtering and the impossibly-rich Polysix chorus."
"A Korg remake of the legendary synthesizer from the 70´s , the ARP Odyssey. All sounds in this track are coming from this great sounding duophonic synthesizer. The track will be included on the Firechild album , Fireheart , release mid 2015."
Computer algorithm collects from Internet the data on power and depth of shocks in planet's crust and captures all the earthquakes above 0.1 (Richter magnitude scale). On an average day there are up to 200 of such shocks. This data is converted into signals that control the motors which are attached to Thunder Drum acoustic drums.
"Created by Daito Manabe and Rhizomatics, it looks like a real wheeze - though you would pray that it didn't rain..
It is a social experiment, embodying the Academy ethos of encouraging creative collaboration. The below schematics help to explain how it was constructed. The Synthesizer is a large format workstation that allows for interaction: There is a step sequencer drum machine with four sound sets, and a keyboard with an arpeggiator and other functions, as well as an X-Y effects unit. The large format synthesizer controls are based on KORG's MS10/20 classic synthesizers, with MPC-style touch-sensitive trigger pads."
"Here's a quick video showing Wusik Station V8 Alpha Version running on SAVIhost (Windows). The code is cross-platform ready, so a MAC version will show up soon. In this video I'm just testing the audio path with the Wave Sequencer + Sample Player

"Timelapse of my first modular build which i'll expand later on (duh). Integrated with the MFB Dominion 1 which has quite a few modular options as well. First short tryout after the timelapse."
"Another Twin Elektron Monomachine track. This track also utilizes the Eventide Space with the melodic monomachine, but not the drum-based monomachine.
Enjoy.

"My live cover version of this incredible track, played on hardware alone: Roland AIRA TR-8, Cyclone Analogic TT-303 Bass Bot, Korg Volca Keys, Korg KaossPad Quad. No DAW or computer involved, just the onboard sequencers. https://pro.beatport.com/release/meri..."
"A short demo of the PS3100 resonators for Eurorack. The module features three vactrol based voltage controlled bandpass filters with fixed Q, as known from the PS3100. It provides a common input and output for all three channels, as well as single in- and outputs. The on-board wide range triangle LFO is resettable (sync) and is normalled to the CV inputs of the 3 BPFs. The LFOs signal can be inverted for the 3rd channel."
