Folktek = Conduit Matter Resound & Resist

Published on May 21, 2016 Sir Folktek

"A simple patch played live with four Folktek modules making something reminiscent of a 90's tune. All sounds from Folktek modules.

All beats by a simple 3 part Matter patch triggered by varigate4 with one part attenuated with Resist. Matter also sent into Conduit delay and filter.

Both clean and effected Matter sent to individual mixer channels.

All oscillations from Conduit with vactrols triggered by varigate4. Of the two oscillation paths; 1. two oscillations mixed on Resist, sent direct to mixer. 2. two oscillations mixed on Resist sent to Resound and then into a reverb with mix coming in and out.

Resound is the foundation of Conduit - a delay/filter without the added sections of Conduit. Conduit alone is capable of the same delay/filter."

All the heavy lifting is being done by the envelope generator."

Ultra Rare Welsh Minimoog Model 204E SN F13VX10035

via this auction

Note the different style rocker switches.

Update: see this Sound on Sound article for a review and the story behind the 204E.

"Ultra rare Minimoog Model 204E made by Welsh company Moog Music Limited. There are only 5 or 6 units that have ever been made, which makes this synth an ultra rare piece in the history of the most famous synth of all time - the Minimoog.

The Model 204E introduces several enhancements over the Model D, namely independent PWM for OSC 1 and 2, MIDI implementation (no retrofit), and octave transpose button and multiple envelope triggering (as opposed to the original single triggering) - all of which greatly expand the sonic possibilities of the Mini.

Cosmetically, this particular unit is in super mint condition - the wood is flawless, the panel does not have a single scratch - this is a true collector's item.

It was only used at my smoke-free home studio, has been tested, professionally serviced and is fully operational.
Sonically, I will say this: I had two Model D Minimoogs and I played them side-by-side with this unit. Over the years I ended up selling the two Model Ds and I kept this one as I found this particular synth to have the fattest sound of them all."

Electronic Short Stories / Moog Synthesizers by David A. Lucas

Published on May 20, 2016 David A. Lucas

"Electronic Short Stories
A video combining five of my newest Instrumental Synthesizer compositions performed live with my Moog Orchestra.
Lend me your ears, and I'll take you on a Cosmic Jazz Adventure, deep through the New Age of Electronic music.
Performed by David A. Lucas.

This prodject began as an experiment in using the CV functions on my analog synthesizers. I'm used my Yamaha RX-15 drum machine as the master. Using MIDI, I am sending a signal to my Moog Voyager to control the rate of the vibrato. The Voyager is then talking through CV the clock in my Moog Prodigy. This effect allows my Moog Orchestra to sound like it is playing it's self.

A Lucmond Production 2016. In Stereo.

"Using the paraphonic mode, 3 Oscillators set to C and slightly detuned, the fourth set to F. Each key press cycles to the next available oscillator. This creates a slightly random outcome thats more complex than the keys I play. Sorry for the over the top Boke on the video, it was either do a whole other take (which would of sounded totally different) or live with the DSI blurring into the background!"

"Octave Kitten II - Fab condition. Just serviced so working perfectly (calibrated, new bushings, etc...) - sounds amazing. A friend of mine couldn't believe she was made in 1981 because she looks so good. Frankly she is a beauty, probably in as good cosmetic condition as you could hope to find for a synth of this age. The only niggle is one of the black pot centres was peeling so James Walker, during the service, freshened them all up by putting a small black plastic circle on top of them all (so they matched). Check the pictures.

I much prefer this to the Moog Prodigy."

Quiet Saturdays - Episode 28 - live studio

Published on May 21, 2016 Alba Ecstasy

"Episode 28, stepping out a little of my confort zone of Berlin School and slightly going back to the style I begun to make music about two decades ago! Radias, controlled by System-1 (yes, I also have the Radias keyboard, but not also the space to mount it ;-) ) is giving a simple sine lead, continuing with Beastept Pro controlling the Braids - Clouds tandem. A new bass sound (Vol. 3 Analog microKorg - coming soon) from microKORG, a stab chords from Ti2 and the nice drums of Novation Circuit. OP-1 is coming to the playground with its childish arpeggiator - which I like a lot!!
Have a great weekend my friends!

As electronic musicians ourselves, we, at Audionomy, have developed DM2 with the intention of delivering the perfect mix between fun playability and powerful sonic capacities. We always keep in mind the importance of a beautiful design with the right balance of powerful abilities while avoiding clumsy interfaces.

DM2 offers 6 main sections:

1 - THE STEP SEQUENCER takes advantage of the iPad multi-touch screen for fast and creative patterns drawing. The Sequences handles 16 or 32 steps patterns and is polymetric (just gently tap and drag the blue handle at the right end of each track).

2 - THE DRUMS PAGE is a powerful graphic Audio Synthesis editor. Play, experiment and discover new sounds with the 6 graphs. Tap the little magnifying glass each title bar, it will expand the graph to a bigger size for extra precision.

3 - THE PADS PAGE simply lets you play and record any beat that tickles your fingers, with automatic quantize so that you don’t miss a beat. With a Beat Repeat effect for extra fun.

4 - THE MIXER PAGE for quick and subtle sound mixing of your drum kits. Large and spacey so that you can get the big picture. Pan and Solo included.

5 - THE FX SECTION offer a powerful Quad Pads Effect processors. Refine or super charge your sounds with this powerful Master effect chain.

6 - THE SONG PAGE allows you to quickly build a song with the patterns you have created. Just drag and drop the patterns onto the timeline. Each pattern in a song can be repeated for compact Song composition.

Modular Dub1 - a 128BPM Eurorack modular synthesizer patch.

Published on May 20, 2016 Luke Killen

"I've decided to play some dubbed modular music fro an upcoming gig so for the next little while i'll be making videops that follow suit.

Patch notes.
Subb bass: Mutable instruments Braids in Fold mode running throughg a Doepfer A-106-5 SEM. Channel 1 of a Makenoise Maths provides an envelope for the Filter cuttoff and the CV for one channel of a Intellijel Linix.

Chords: Noise from a Steady State Fate Ultra-Random Analog, filtered through a RYO Aperture in 'both' mode with a very high resonance (just short of self oscillation). This is used as the input for a Mutable Instruments Rings for excitation. The CV of the Aperture is modulated by the quantised output of a Make noise Rene that is also multed to the 1v/oct of the rings as well as being sent via an attenuator to shift a Intellijel uScale 2 which is also receiving an arpeggio from an Abstrct Data ADE32.

The uScale 2 is feeding the 1v/Oct of the sub bass and the timbre without the shift.

Melodic Tinkle:
Whimsical Raps Mangrove, has pitch modulated by Channel 1 of a Tiptop Z8000 sequencer, 'Air modualed by Channel B of the Ultra-Random Analog and 'barrel' modulated by an attenuverted channel one of the make Noise Maths. This is filtered through an intellijel uVCF in Band pass mode with High Q and Frequency cutoff modulated by channel 1 of a 4ms PEG. The PEG's ENV output is also modulating the CV ot the opto integrator which it providing aplitude CV for the occasional sine tone that appears here ansthere through the patch.
Sin Tone: Sin tone is the sIN out of a WMD/SSF Spectrum that is fed to a Intellijel LiniX where a gate from a Delphtronics Trigger man is being smoothed by the Ultra random's Opto integrator.

Final output from a Make noise DPO with it's 'angle' modulated by a a Frequency Centrl Wave runner, Feeds a WMD/SSF Pole-Zero driven hard and having it's frequency cutoff negatively by channel 2 of a 4ms PEG whose EOF is triggering channel 4 of a z8000 Sequencer.

Kick: Mutable instruments Peaks in expert drum mode. three patterns are available via manual switching of a Low-gain short bus.

Snare: Noise Engineering Basumilus Iteratus with some decay modulation from channel three of Tiptop z8000 is passed to a Intellijel uVCA where it is also dynamically controlled by channel three of the Z8000.

Reverb and delay is controlled via a Novation Zero SL MKii and is applied live via my DAW. Some Compression and EQ is also applied for channels that need it."
