"Pizzaman" - Dance Funk theme with DMX, OB-Xa, Stingray

Published on Dec 16, 2016 SynthMania

"I came up with a cool Disco Funk stingray bass line tonight, and made a song out of it. Song title by my fifteen year old daughter Grace, who came by the studio chomping away at a large slice of pizza and I asked her how I should title it."

Sad Classic - a melodic patch for Eurorack synthesizer

Published on Dec 16, 2016 Luke Killen

"This patch uses a simple four note progression (from a Mutable Instruments Braids sequenced by a tiptop z8000) for the basis a melodic rhythm based patch.

The main melody is provided by a Sputnik Oscillator unfiltered but using shape modulation to moved from harmon and pure tones. Voltage control of the shape is provided by Make Noise Maths which also has it's Rise stage modulated by an LFO. Make Noise Rene is providing the melody.

Additional percussion is sequenced by a Delphtronic Triggerman providing patterns for the kick (Mutable Instrument Peaks), Snare (Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteratus) hats and percussion."

EMW Multiwave Digital Oscillator Eurorack Module Demo

Published on Dec 15, 2016 FatSynthDude

"This module is an absolute godsend for anyone looking for MIDI-controlled digital oscillation and in my opinion, it doesn't get enough love. This is just a quick run-through of the waveforms, some variations introduced via the wavefolder control, and then some of the suboscillator waves. I can't recommend this module enough."

USB Eurorack Power Kits from c1t1zen modular

via c1t1zen

"I've made these USBpowered Eurorack pcb kits. That convert the 5V output from USB and up-converts it to +/-12V. I usually use a USB battery charger...but you can use any USB power source. I've been able to push 250mA to the +/-12v for several hours. It's great to have a portable small system to tweak on the couch or on the go. Also I have one on my bench for testing builds.

It's based on the work of Tom Whitwell of Music Thing Modular."

Kit Includes:
USBpower PCB
USB Cable
Capacitor
USB Jack
5 Shrouded Headers

Side note: c1t1zen also made the lunchbox modular featured in this video from Thomas Whitwell of Music Thing.

Korg Monologue - Sounds, Patches and Analog Lines

Published on Dec 16, 2016

"I played the Korg Monologue and am very impressed by the diversity this mono synth comes along with. I really like the analog filter type as well as the possibility to create edgy sounds versus classic analog sounds. The sequencer features a great variety of intuitve control. So you can really say this is a great synth and not only a bassliner."

DSI PRO 2 CYMBAL + HI-HAT SYNTHESIS TUTORIAL ~ Synthesize This! Ep.03

Published on Dec 16, 2016 once upon a synth

"Let's try to synthesize cymbal and hi-hat sounds on the DSI Pro 2 synthesizer. Both sounds will be based on the same patch and only differ in envelope shape. The general idea is to create a sound rich in inharmonic frequencies in order to simulate the metalic sound of a cymbal.

Let me know in the comments below if you guys have any other tips with regards to synthesizing cymbals.

Coffee & Beats Volume 1 - Circuit Patches by Bobeats

09:38 - Winter - a more dark and dirty dance tune
10:45 - Tar - techno oriented dance tune

If you like the sounds in this demo buying them is a great way of supporting my work!

Coffee & Beats Volume 1 (or Bobeats Circuit Patch Collection 1 as it is called also) contains 32 custom Circuit patches. They range from lead, bass to pad and experimental sounds.

The sounds are not made to fit any particular genre. They are a bit experimental in that the macros are set up so that you can really explore the sounds and use one sound in many different ways. A sound could be a bass or a lead. A pad or an arpeggio.

How to load them: you either need the Isotoniks Circuit Editor or you can use the Novation Circuit Components function.

Editor: http://isotonikstudios.com/novation-x...
Components: https://components.novationmusic.com/

With the patches comes a BANK file that can be used to load all patches into the editor at once. Or you can load them one by one. The easiest way to add them to any existing set of patches is simply using the Components. Be sure to back up your Circuit before experimenting if you do not want to accidentally lose any important work.

I hope you enjoy them!"

Please use Isotonik's editor to upload the sounds. Follow the instructions at Isotonik's webpage if it's your first time. I've been unexpectedly experiencing weird results when uploading patches through Novation's officla Components site in firmware 1.4, where the patches end up sounding different.

Hello. Here's my second pack of patches for the Novation Circuit. Isotonik Studios approached me, and asked if I wanted contribute to their Circuit store, and sell a pack of patches there. So I did my best to create a rich pack, with a lot of fun, useful, and even a few experimental sounds.

Cheers everyone!

Arturia Drumbrute Sessions by kAbLe HeAd

Published on Dec 11, 2016 kAbLe HeAd

Individual outs for each drum part allow you to use different effects for each drum part. Something to consider when picking up a new drum machine.

Playlist:

1. Arturia Drumbrute + 11 Effect Pedals - Session 1

"This session took quite some time to set up. Each individual output of the Drumbrute (except the metronome) is connected to a different effect pedal. Lots of cables and power supplies were involved.

I had to dig up my old crackling Behringer mixer which is not optimal for this task because half of the inputs are stereo channels. So i had to mono the whole mix in the recording device because otherwise half of the instruments would be panned hard left or right. I wish i had a mixer with more channels but for now this had to do the job.

There is another reverb pedal under the table which is connected to the aux send of the mixer.

Pedals used:
Kick 1 - WMD Geiger Counter
Kick 2 - Electro-Harmonix Black Finger
Snare - Boss CS-3
Clap - Digitech Supernatural
Hihats - Electro-Harmonix Neo Mistress
Rim - Boss DD-7
Hi Tom - Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail
Lo Tom - Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy
Cymbal - Boss AW-3
Maracas - Mid-Fi Electronics Pitch Pirate
Zap - Red Panda Particle
Aux send - Hardwire RV-7"

Sequential Circuits Pro One Synthesizer w/Vesta Kozo CV/Midi MDI-1 & Shrooms

Spot the mushrooms on the circuit board.

"This Sequential Circuits Pro-One is in amazing condition and fully functional, and is Midi-Capable via INCLUDED Vesta Kozo Midi-CV converter. It is a fully and professionally restored Late-Model with fully-functioning Keyboard. This is all-original, with NO modified circuitry or re-soldered components. All rotary pots and switches have been professionally cleaned. All key contacts on this later non-J-wire model have been restored and functioning. Everything works and sounds great. While no vintage synth is ever "truly" mint or perfect, this one has been well cared for and not cosmetically re-finished. Incredibly clean unit inside and out. Original Power cord (does not use AC wall adapter).

If you are shopping for this synth, it probably needs no introduction, but obviously it has an amazing sound, midi-syncable programmable arpeggiator and sequencer via CLK input, and incredible-sounding filter, controls, and modulations you would expect from an analogue synth of this era.

This specific model has the coveted "Buddha" circuitboard with interesting and cryptic solder "signatures" inside, including mushrooms,etc.. on the main board, created by the original SC assembly engineers. (see photos). Numbers and markings were made by factory technicians, and I've enclosed photos of those as well.

The late-model keyboard is fully operational and restored with all keys functioning fine, but I have included with the unit the rare and unusual Vesta Kozo MDI-1 midi-to-CV converter so it can be immediately used with any midi-capable or computer/midi sequencer-based system. This unit alone had several hundred in Value, but it's a great match with the synthesizer providing midi capability.

The unit is in excellent condition with virtually no scratches or wear, other than some light wear on the original wooden sides. Case, plastic, knobs are in fantastic condition."

ARP 1613 Sequencer with Operation Manual & Service Manual

"ARP Sequencer in very good condition, functional. Comes with photocopy of operation manual and service manual.

Physical condition: front face is very clean with the exception of small letters engraved below steps 15/16 (see pic). Back of unit has scratch across logo (see pic) Area near serial number is not a scratch but residue from a sticker . Area below front panel has small scratch.

Operationally all works well- only exception being FM slider starts engaging at around halfway up."

DreamsOfWires - Arturia Minibrute SE 'Berlin School...ish'

Published on Dec 16, 2016 DreamsOfWires

"I've not been too well recently, colds etc, so I've made no new music or videos. Therefore, to puncture the silence, I thought I'd upload something that never made it onto my YouTube channel - I uploaded it to Soundcloud originally, but never recorded any video for it. I don't own the Minibrute anymore, it was a casualty of my financial situation, but it was good instrument, and some things it excelled at, such as it's playability - smooth sliders for all the waveforms, built in SH101-style sequencer etc.

This track was recorded using just the Minibrute, no other instruments, no MIDI, just an iPad for the muti-track recording and some delay/reverb, but I don't remember which apps. It was improvised starting with the sequence, then other parts were overdubbed onto it. It was a very quick recording. Enjoy... I hope."

"Pads is basically a wavetable synthesizer with a noise/grain generator and a high cut filter. With a carefully developed ”wobbler” that detunes the waveforms and makes small inconsistencies to several internal parameters and a nice sounding chorus, this synthesizer is able to create some really interesting and non-statical pad sounds.

Noteworthy features:

• AUv3, works with AUv3 compatible hosts like GarageBand, Cubasis, Auria, AUM etc.

• 30 handcrafted presets created by professional musicians

• Filter, Attack and volume can be modulated by velocity
