"For a student. Most material in this playlist is unlisted as the material is for students I'm working with.

Original here - [embed below]

I'm sight-reading through the score, hence the laptop.

Tempo = 83 BPM (or think doubling of note values @ 166 BPM).

The original is sequenced, but trying to play as evenly as it is a good challenge.

Also, there is a slight hint of Debussy's 'Children's Corner', 1st mvt.

(an Optomix and a bd808 is involved as well)
Everything gets mixed in the Pan & Scan mixer with nice saturation

You can go far more dirty! this was quite a tamed minimal approach"

Pico System 2- Erica Synths New noise random patch

Published on Jul 24, 2018 Dziam Bass

"Sometimes my brain generates nice melodies but sometimes like today I need an injection of generator noise and these things from the 'random'and dangerous sound category. This is a completely different dimension of creation and when it seems chaotic I know that it has now generated my brain and has accepted it as music.!!!
So -here I have a new movie with Pico System 2 that allowed me to create just what had to happen after a hot day and came out of this system as this track.
Pico System from Erica synths gives me inspiration as a whole range of eurorack modules in my office.
But this little system can surprise you with many sounds and solutions.😁
Erica Synths-good work!!!😜"

Hungry Robot Modular Pedals

Published on Jul 24, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Hungry Robot's new modular pedals run on standard guitar 9v power supplies, but internally run on the same +/-12v that eurorack modules run on. They can be patched together with 3.5mm cables to make full synthesizer voices, or can be used to control pedals with CV inputs. They run on the same voltage and signal levels as most semi-modular and eurorack synthesizers so they can be patched together with them as well.

Korg Trident MK1 Vintage Synth Synthesizer

via this auction

"The Trident is a polyphonic and programmable instrument with three independent sections - Synthesizer, Brass, and Strings, released in 1980. It features 8 voices of polyphony and two of the instrument sections can be played simultaneously while in Split Keyboard mode.

Each section has its own unique VCO voice architecture, VCF (filter) types, and LFO capabilities. The Brass section's VCF and Envelope Generators are virtually the same as the Synthesizer section, allowing the Brass section to be used for generating additional synthy sounds as well as faux-brass sounds. The String section has some unique features as well such as a "Bowing" effect. Another unique effect included is a global flanger that can self-oscillate! Flanger controls include Speed, Feedback, Intensity and Manual.

The Trident featured 16 user memory patches. In addition there were three preset memory patches for Piano 1, Piano 2 and Clavi. There is no way of externally playing the Trident with MIDI or CV/Gate without modifications (CV/Gate only controls expression and filter parameters). But the CV/Gate inputs are discrete for each of the three sections. There are also discrete mono outputs for each section and a mix output.

This synth is near 40 years old and so has its quirks - it due a service so this would suit someone who is able to fully clean and spend some time on this unit.... please bear this in mind"

Oberheim OB-X Vintage Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer SEM 8 Voice

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Here is classic vintage polyphonic synthesizer from the best years of poly synths. The OB-X has arguably the biggest and most powerful sound thanks to it's largely discrete, pre-Curtis Electromusic era, voice architecture lifted straight out of the SEM-based systems that preceded it. The filters are supreme and, that bit of looseness in the tuning provides loads of thick and raw character, being edgy with a bottom end that is just apocalyptic in size.

The unit has just been serviced:

-All of the connector/header contacts were de-oxidized throughout the entire unit.

-All solder points of the interconnect headers were re-flowed on both voice motherboards, the power supply and both the lower and upper processor boards.

-The upper tray ribbon connectors that connect to the processor board have been replaced.

-The +19 volt and -19 volt adjustment trimmers on the power supply have been replaced with multi-turn, high-precision trimmers.

-The entire unit has had a full calibration according to the original service manual.

-Loaded with original factory patches."

Arturia DrumBrute Impact- House Beat with live arrangements.

Published on Jul 24, 2018 Dziam Bass

"Hi all, the new movie shows Arturia DrumBrute Impact new drum machine Arturia when I made House beat.
It's a great fun in live mode and you can have a great arrangement with mute and solo and with a reel that repeats sections 1/4 1/8 1/16 and 1/32.
Sometimes reminiscent of classic roland Tr 808, it tightens Kick on long sounds with more decay and hats which really in Harmonics mode raise this machine to a higher level. more swing and moving the sound away from the grid allows you to make a mega groove.
Here is some fun at 126 bpm.
Thanks for watching.

Tips n' Tricks: Creating a 64-step sequencer using 2x Moog Mother 32

Published on Jul 24, 2018 Alastair Wilson

"I didn't do a very good job of explaining this patch in the video, so here's a much better explanation:

Theory:
- Both M32s are being triggered by a square LFO. To get them to alternate, one needs to be triggered by the LFO's rising edge (low to high jump), and the second by the falling edge (high to low jump). The problem is that both M32s need a rising edge to be clocked, so we will need to invert the LFO (I say 'reverse' in the video) for the second M32, to turn its falling edge into a rising edge.

Step 1 - clocking the first M32:
By patching the LFO to the Mult, you get 2 outputs of it. One goes straight into the M32's Tempo input to clock it.

Step 2 - inverting the LFO:
The other Mult output is patched to VC Mix Ctrl (which controls the mix between Mix 1 and Mix 2). With no cables patched, Mix 1 is at 0V and Mix 2 is at 5V. We need a jump of 0V to 5V when the LFO falls, flicking the output from Mix 2 to Mix 1, which is the opposite of what is currently happening. To fix this, we have to reverse the voltages at the Mix inputs.

Step 3 - reversing the Mix voltages:
To stop Mix 1 being at 0V and instead be at 5V, we patch in the output of the other M32's VC Mix section, with the VC Mix knob turned clockwise. This sends 5V into Mix 1. To stop Mix 2 being at 5V and instead be at 0V, we patch a dummy cable (a cable only patched at one end) into Mix 2, breaking the normalization of 5V. This puts Mix 2 at 0V.

Step 4 - clocking the second M32:
The VC Mix output is essentially now a square LFO that falls when the clocking LFO rises, and rises when the clocking LFO falls. By patching that into the Tempo input of the second M32, the M32s will both be clocked by the same LFO but will alternate to create a sequence twice as long but also twice as fast. Voilà - a 64-step sequence!"

1010Music Series 1 Eurorack Powerhouse: Review+sound test for Bitbox, Fxbox and Synthbox

Published on Jul 24, 2018 loopop

"A few years ago 1010Music released Bitbox – a simplified but extremely powerful Ableton-Live style sampler, slicer and clip launcher – by far the most advanced Eurorack sampler I've ever seen. Where it gets a little confusing is that since then they've released two completely different firmware versions for the same hardware – Fxbox and Synthbox, which transform it into radically different modules. I'm not talking about just updates with new features (which have also come out separately), but rather alternate firmware versions with entirely different functionality. In parallel, they've released independent modules with said firmware versions, which can also load each other's firmware.

"The T7 Autophage is an experimental instrument that makes sounds based on the life cycle of a bacteriophage which is a virus that infects bacteria.

Catch the T7 in action here on Youtube https://youtu.be/bRqQKlIXEg0

In the T7 different stages in the life cycle are represented by different sounds, for example a high pitched sound represents attachment of the virus to the bacteria and a short noise burst represents the lysis process.

The timing of the life is approx one minute = one second
