Aquifex - modular liquid mod test

"This is a new sound experiment made with my recently growing Eurorack modular system.
I sort of randomly discovered how to make some cool watery, drippy, and 'gassy' FX with just a handful of modules.
I also added in some artifacts to make it even more strange.
Lots of fun... enjoy.

"Definitely one for the synth lover and collector, is the gorgeous & rare Electronic Dream Plant Wasp! These were made in the UK in the 70s, and they are now quite hard to find - and even more rare to find one in as lovely condition as this one.

Fully functional, and sounds fantastic - the Wasp filter is legendary!

Note, the plastic on the front 'lip' of the unit has been refurbished, and it is battery operated only (no power supply). I never used a power supply with it myself and always worked beautifully. There is a teeny amount of wear on the paint on two keys as one may expect with a synth this age, but it does not affect the operation of the keyboard at all."

Locked Sample and Hold -Ozoe.fr first sequences

Published on Oct 9, 2019 Dziam Bass

"Today I have a movie with the Locked Sample and Hold module from Ozoe.fr
Ozoe.fr is a company that manufactures 5U modules and also 3U modules - Eurorack.
I have here one equivalents of large modules translated into eurorack format.
One is LOCKED SAMPLE and HOLD With a quantizer
This module is based on a voltage generator (sampling and holding) with the possibility of interruptions in the continuous flow of banknotes and it is also possible to block all or part of an additional random sequence. This allows for repetitive melodies with other changes in the subject.
The ability to store sequences live remember music themes in real time."

Yamaha AN1x demo pads

"Mostly just some pads I've come up with. The Blade Runner Main Theme was made without consulting the original - so please bear that in mind - it probably sounds nothing like it!

Absolutely no other effects (except a limiter) was used. All internal FX."

Tendrils Come to Signal Sounds

"Australia's Tendrils cables have just announced an even wider range of eye popping colours and lengths of their ultra-slim, lightweight, space-saving eurorack patch cables.

They've also just partnered up with Signal Sounds, the Glasgow-based eurorack retailer and distributor so, expect to see their cables in even more eurorack stores worldwide very soon! Check the full-range over at Signal Sounds web-store here."

"I took apart an ARP Model 1611 Sequencer from 1975, gave it a clean, put it back together again, and it still worked!

Removing the PCB out of the metal casing was very very difficult, but I managed to release it with some man-handling, thankfully not captured on film."

Cosmogonik by LDM Design for Novation Circuit

Demo - Part ONE - Cosmogonik by LDM Design from Isotonik Studios on Vimeo.

Cosmogonik is the first pack for the Novation Circuit from long standing Isotonik Collective member LDM Design. Designed around the theme of Dub Techno you'll find consistent macros and a dark dubby style to the patches, samples and sessions.

We've been banging on at Daniel of LDM Design for monhts now to finish the Novation Circuit Pack he's been working on for ages. Originally inspired when building apps for the ROLI block and controlling the Circuits Synth Engine he;'s taken his love for Techno and expandded it into a mammoth pack of Dubby Goodness.

The Cosmogonik pack is based around the sounds of Dub Techno & Ambient but also influenced by deeper Dubstep and Halfstep DnB, and many of the sounds will work with other minimal and deep genres of electronic music.

Many of the chord sounds are designed to be used with a generous amount of delay and reverb, as can be heard in the included sessions.

In line with our most popular packs for the Novation Circuit the majority of the patches have the same mapping for the Macros except for one or 2 which are a little more customized

Plankton Nutone dual tube VCA 1/2: demo + explained (LMS EE)

Published on Oct 9, 2019 Learning Modular

"The Plankton Nutone is a dual tube VCA based on the Korg Nutube: compact fluorescent displays re-engineered to act as micro vacuum triode tubes. Its easy-to-use interface include controls for each stage to be fed back into itself, as well as for each stage to be fed to the other one. It can be used as normal VCA with minimal distortion, as a tube VCA with distortion only on the envelope peaks, or as a saturation device. At high feedback levels, it will self-oscillate and generally freak out in interesting ways.

In this movie, I give a no-talking demo of using the Nutone, and then look at how it changes the incoming sound:

00:00 demo
01:53 overview
02:46 setting up
03:50 triangle/sawtooth variations
06:24 using as a VCA vs. saturator

The other movie demonstrates the Nutone in use as a VCA, as a saturation device, and as the two put together – including performance control. "The Elysian is capable of everything the other drum scapes are - with four oscillators and delay, but Voltage Control (1/8" CV) has been added to integrate into other analog systems/cv sequencers. Control over the oscillators as well as the delay time.

The boxes are oak, 1/8" output jack, 5x 1/8" cv jacks, control over delay time (from extremely notated tight to about 1.5 seconds with near infinite repeat for loops), control over each of the oscillators with custom brass keys for each, 2 custom lamps glow warm white, custom switches for delay time and drum mode (3 modes)."

This one was listed back in April.

"This is a Moog Voyager XL, rare Tolex Edition, serial #50 of 100 units ever produced. This particular Voyager is part of the 40th Anniversary year. Not all Tolex Voyagers are of this designation, and there is a metal badge screwed to the instrument at the factory indicating this instrument is a 40th Anniversary edition. (see photos).

The condition is absolutely pristine. Please enlarge and examine the photos. No scratches or wear. Always kept covered in a studio, never toured/gigged. The XY and ribbon controllers exhibit no wear or fingerprints."

"Thanks for checking the listing. I bought this keyboard new in the early 80's at Cintioli Musi in Philly. Initially I gigged with it and eventually when my band got signed, I used it extensively on several albums and live performances. However, as was the case with these synths, over time, it just wouldn't stay in tune. I got so frustrated with my local shop's inability to repair it, I drove to Buffalo NY and dropped it off at the Moog factory, got a hotel room, and waited for it to be restored to new working order. The reality was that by the time I drove home to Philly, It wouldn't tune all 6 oscillators lol...
Over the last 30 some years, It's been kept in the studio or in a road case and basically, I had forgotten about it. Recently I was alerted that there were a few people out there that had the knowledge and ability using new technology to restore it to new, actually better than new. I did some research and learned about Wes Taggert at Analogics .
Wes truly is a memorymoog whisperer. I was skeptical but it's true, he restored it to better than perfect working order. I had forgotten how awesome this keyboard sounds. So rich and wet and round. Frankly, there's no red Swedish synth, Moog 1, whatever, that sounds like this thing. Not even that close! The analog horn pads, strings, killer solo patches, sound effects, direct panel accessible editing. Forget about it, there's nothing that sounds like a Memorymoog period. And the greatest thing is that my memorymoog is rock solid. Since getting it back from Wes, once warmed up (about 10 min), the tuning is impeccable. I had it idling in the studio the other night and was making dinner, forgot it was on, crashed on the couch for several hours and when I played it it some 5 hours later, all 6 voices were rock solid in tune. I've had this keyboard since it was new. It was accepted back then that it had to be auto-tuned after every song! Not anymore.....
Among other things the repairs and upgrades include:
1)Total rebuild and upgrade to the power supply
2) Total rebuild and upgrade to the auto-tune circuit
3) Totally recapped
4) Voice cards re-calibrated and several resistor packs replaced
5) Keyboard contacts cleaned and more."

Waldorf STVC String Synth and Vocoder Now Available

Published on Oct 9, 2019 Andertons Synths, Keys and Tech

Comes with an extra arm. See the dealers on the right for the best deals.

"The Waldorf STVC is a beautifully engineered string synthesizer with a built-in vocoder. Building on their popular Streichfett formula, it offers everything from smooth pads to abrasive chordal textures, ‘80s synthwave to apocalyptic soundscapes. The addition of the vocoder, along with a 49-key aftertouch keybed, makes this a wholly performable synthesizer with huge digital flexibility.

Jack and Ben give it a test drive, exploring its out-the-box sounds and demonstrating the ultra-cool oscillator registration control."
