"My synth duo M.U.A.D. ( http://muadmusic.org/ ) is preparing for performances this fall in Birmingham AL. Here is a sample of some of the more melodic pieces we'll be performing.

It is performed exclusively on the beautiful Prophet X hybrid synth which combines digital sampling and digital oscillators with the warm analog filters in a stereo configuration. "This Oberheim Matrix-6R is fully functional, in excellent condition and has been fully serviced. The Matrix 6 was one of the last few synthesizers from Oberheim to come out during the mid-eighties following the classic OB-series. The Matrix 6 utilized high-tech but less expensive digital and midi features and still retained a totally analog sound. It did this by using DCOs (digitally controlled oscillators) to provide stability, programmability and more. All the Matrix synthesizers featured Matrix Modulation which allows for extremely wild virtual patching for almost unlimited range of sounds and modulation capabilities! The Matrix 6R is a rack-mount version of the Matrix 6 retaining its membrane programming interface."

"Mint condition Kawai SX240. Replaced original eprom with Tauntek upgraded firmware (will include original eprom firmware if you'd like to swap back). Previous owner made a small modification to the left side of the synth. There is an xlr input and toggle switche installed into the metal chassis, but he never wired it up to anything (pictured). Includes original SX240 retail box."

No pics of the original box, but you can find some here. It appears to be the same one based on the XLR input mod. Different pics though.

Arturia MicroFreak Only Acid - 4 Tabs of Acid - Techno Jam

"I think I might be back on the jam wagon. This was going to be a dawless jam originally as I'd planned to sync the MicroFreak up to my 4 track in the same manner as I do my Volca, by recording the sync click. I got it working fairly well by running the sync click through a Volca into the MicroFreak but despite doing this multiple times sucessfully in the past it kept skipping today. Midi sync to Reaper it is then

So this is a track build from 4 layers of MicroFreak with a little reverb, including the drum sounds, nothing more. I'm quite proud of my kick drum sound as I have made a fake reverb tail using the noise engine, the MicroFreak has no effects to do this so programming tricks are needed. I've also synthesized Hi-Hats, an acid bass and a grotty string like pad.

I've not been using the MicroFreak long. I've had it a a few months but I've not really had the chance to explore what it can do until now, but I like what I'm hearing :)
