Doctor Who Theme on SYNTRX

video upload by Robert Saint John

"Sooner or later, it’s inevitable that I’ll recreate the Doctor Who theme on any synthesizer I have. Multi-tracked with Erica Synths SYNTRX, painstakingly sequenced with Korg SQ-64, and Nu:Tekt NTS-1 for reverb and delay."

Breath of the clouds | Peaceful ambient music with UDO Super 6

video upload by MIDERA

"Today I had a chance to test out a UDO Super 6 when a friend (Avery) visited. They wanted to check out my Jupiter 6 and borrow a friend's synth which was stowed away at my place for a while. They were kind enough to bring the Super 6 along for the ride.

So what did I think of the Super 6? It's a bit hard to say honestly, if only because it was in my studio for about an hour and I only really messed with it for about 20 minutes total, including playing this.

I found the naming convention similar to that of the DW8000 - where things were sort of not easy to understand right away - like MG for LFO (on the DW and I'm sure other Korg's of the era). Whatever, it's more on me for not understanding that aspect.

I did have this weird sort of thinking that... I actually think the System 8 held up really well - and strangely, I actually am starting to think maybe I like how my System 8 looks. How can this even happen... I don't know. I think once you start bonding with things, even if they don't look great they still are really unique in other ways.

That said, obviously the System 8 is sort of on a lower tier than the Super 6 in terms of build quality and everything else.

I will say that I could understand someone parting with a Jupiter 6, Juno 6/60/106, and System 8 in order to grab the Super 6. It really does a lot of those things well. I am actually wondering why not sell the Jupiter 6 for the Super 6.

So now that's point number 2 - how does the Jupiter 6 compare? Well... I think I'll need to sleep on that. Maybe I'll write something similar with the Jupiter 6 and see how I feel about it. I will say that there is an incredible amount of overlap on the two.

I think the Jupiter 6 looks cooler though :P

And something that I tried to hide (because it showed up at the beginning and I removed it) and did hear somewhat throughout this video... I could hear clicking when I pressed the keys even when the attack was set to very slow. I wonder what that's about or if it's some weird thing with the delay? I don't know."

Synthstrom Deluge - Sawtooth Jam

video upload by Easy Tiger

"A simple filtered sawtooth with a tiny bit of resonance and a bit of filter mod with a plucky envelope is probably my favorite sound coming out of the deluge. Here I am jamming on a track with the main melody played by just that sound."

'Next Phase Voices' - Vocal-like patch using a Phaser like a VCF (Eurorack Modular Patching Guide)

video upload by AJH Synth Official

"This week's 'Patch of The Week' uses the powerful NEXT PHASE Eurorack phaser module as though it was a VCF, with a step sequencer controlling it's frequency by CV - this allows suitable frequencies to be cherry-picked to suit each sound or event. Here the Next Phase is being fed 2 VCO's and some pink noise, which it is tone-shaping to create a human voice-like timbre. The 2 sawtooth waveforms are being pitch-modulated by separate sources to create some organic, human-like instability, and noise is added to give some 'breath' to the tone.

The Next Phase is a complex beast, whilst it can be used very simply and easily, even just to emulate the best phase pedal designs of the past, it can however go way beyond that. Extensive CV control of parameters, coupled with a total of 64 combinations of both 12 phaser 'Stages' and 12 'Emphasis stages', means that this is a very powerful tool for creating unusual or otherworldly textures and soundscapes. See our Next Phase User Guide video for examples."

Mcdonald's song, modular synth

video upload by Meng Qi

"Chinese singer Eason Chan playfully changed the words of his love song to 'Mcdonald's is fantastic' @mcdonalds in a concert 16 years ago just for fun, and no-one-know-why it's suddenly gone viral recently, with many singers of varied styles imitating and recreating it online but none of them representing synthesizer players! That's why I made this to get involved in this exciting game."

"MODEL 408S CONTROL EXPANDER

FLPG(Passive LPG with tone control fader"

via P4L (patching for life)

"This expander can extend the functionality of the 208 module by adding a number of inputs and outputs.

Many CV inputs have already been added to the 208C, but using them as secondary inputs makes the behaviour more complex.
This expander was fully tested on Buchla Clone 208p.
And will works on many Buchla 208 and clone machines, but not on 208r Rev.1.
( Depending on your module you may need to change the resistance value. )

Built by hand in Japan."

Buchla 259 - Episode 01 - In the Beginning...

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Many - if not all - contemporary complex oscillators are inspired by Buchla's original 259 from the 1970's. I don't think there's anything before that, except maybe the 258 ('60s) and FM radio ('50s). John Chowning is considered the father of digital FM synthesis - also in the 70s - but even in 2017 scientists were breaking their heads over 'how to make a digital wavefolder'. I guess eurorack would be far less interesting without mr. Buchla's work. In this episode I'll focus on the main/principal oscillator of the complex VCO design. I am unable to hear the original sound of the 259, but the Furthrrrr Generator from Endorphins is the most faithful recreation I know. We'll check out the DPO and the Cs-L while being guided by the 259's panel (thanks to mr. Todd Barton for shooting some great images), but even mr. Barton's 259 is a clone. I learned a lot by just looking at the panel. The 'autotune' on the original is not implemented on the clone PCB's so DIY people wonder how it would have worked. So this video contains inevitable speculation but even that is very inspiring. I'll try to get a Verbos CO for episode 02, since Mark Verbos actually built original 259's in Buchla's garage. It brings back memories and visions I can't possibly have, but it only confirms the 259 is - and will always be - special."

SH101 killer combo = GHOST + GODSPEED (Ghost FW V.3)

video upload by Endorphin.es

"With the new firmware v3 Ghost obtained 24 bit audio I/O, bitcrusher and sample rate reducer effects as well as some fundamental filter adjustments.
Is available online for download:
https://www.endorphin.es/modules/p/ghost

To celebrate that, we have prepared another video for you focusing on the inspiration of Roland SH101 mono synthesizer in electronic music and recreating it's structure with our micro system, consisting of Ground Control as a sequencer, Godspeed as the main oscillator, Airstreamer 4 on the envelope duties and finally GHOST as a one stop VCA/VCF and FX module.
Breaking down and recreating 3 baselines / leads from tracks by @extraweltofficial2208, @aphextwin9341 and @squarepushermusic."
