Sequential Fourm factory preset demo Bank 1

video upload by theover2

"I'm playing my new Sequential Fourm analog synthesizer, recorded the video with a Samsung S24 Ultra in HDR/10bit 4K 60Fps, recorded the analog output of the synthesizer with my Yamaha MG16 XU mixer/AD/DA converter, recording with the "pw" (PipeWire) tools on Fedora 44 (Linux) . Then I loaded the results in Davinci Studio (on the same Fedora 44 machine), aligned the tracks, and saved in HDR format for Youtube.

All the music is played by me on that synthesizer, live. No Midi, no edits, no effects, and no other sounds sources."

Oberheim TEO-5, Moog Minitaur, Volca Keys Analog Cybersynth

video upload by Scott Nellé - Plague Society

"As I close in on 1000 subscribers, I hope you'll join for the journey! Like and subscribe if you're new here and you enjoy hardware synth demo tracks. This is a sort of Cybersynth track played on three analog synths at very different price points. It's sequenced in my DAW, along with drums also from the DAW because I ran out of table space! The main synth here is the Oberheim TEO-5, playing a factory preset. In the intro it's playing a pluck, a lead, and a bass note across the five voices. Lead and bass get shifted to other synths later in the track. After the first time through, I add a ping-pong delay from the Zoom MS-70CDR+.

The main rolling bass comes from the Moog Minitaur straight into the DAW. No effects on the Minitaur this time, just the raw sound.

Mid way through the track the Korg Volca Keys takes over lead duties playing a patch with a fast LFO modulating the cutoff frequency. It's running through my Keeley Caverns V2. As a goth, I needed the special glow in the dark edition with bats and spiders on it, of course."

EMEAPP SONIC TEST DRIVE: Dewtron Mr. Bassman Bass Pedals feat. MIKE KIKER

video upload by EMEAPP

Note this appears to be the first demo of the Dewtron Mr. Bassman featured on the site. Previous posts have all been listings. You'll find some pics and additional info there though.

"In this episode of Sonic Test Drive, our Education Associate Mike Kiker ‪@MikeKiker‬ demonstrates the Dewtron Mr. Bassman.
One of the first commercially available standalone bass pedal units. Made in the UK in the early 1970s, famously used by bands such as Genesis, Yes, Led Zeppelin, and Renaissance. To compliment the Dewtron and to demonstrate how the deep frequencies generated by the Dewtron can supplement the low end in a band situation for both bass players and guitar players, Mike also plays a 1967 Rickenbacker 360/12-string guitar followed by a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 bass. It wasn't long before more widely available bass pedal synths such as the Moog Taurus pedals supplanted the Dewtron in terms of both popularity and functionality. But it was the Dewtron that first made an impact as a supplemental bass instrument and has become an exceedingly rare and sought after instrument. #basspedals #bass #genesis #mikerutherford #yes #chrissquire #ledzeppelin #johnpauljones #renaissance #joncamp #museum #musictech #synthesizer #analog #analogsynth #progressiverock #guitarplayer #pedal #pedalboard #pedals #basssynth #synthbass #progrock"

Electric Cow EC909 - TR-909 drum machine / TB-303 synth for Atari STE/TT/Falcon

- demo & sample pack video upload by ako

Note this is the first post to feature the EC909.

"Quick look at the Electric Cow EC909 drum machine / soft synth for Atari ST/TT/ Falcon and a sample pack made from it's TR-909 sounds. It's a combined TR-909 and TB-303 emulator in one programme (a lot like Steinberg / Propellerheads's ReBirth) which is neat and features PCM samples from a TR909 for the drums (also neat) which can be edited in terms of pitch and attack. My understanding is their wares were more aimed at the falcon but will run on STEs and TTs given that this was released in 1998. EC909 can create single‑bar patterns (in real time on the Falcon), and then export them as AIFF or AVR (Both 8‑ or 16‑bit formats, mono or stereo). The program can also generate a MIDI File from your pattern. MIDI triggering for drums is also possible. The manual, which is still online, contains instructions for loading your own samples into to replace the stock 909 samples using the included CandiKit program, very cool! this lags noticeably on the STE, but still works well enough to play back the drum sounds for sampling.

Hack 5.0 | Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø + Evoke

video upload by Sonic Cartography

"What would happen if you connected the MIDI out to the MIDI in of the same synth (a Sonicware Liven, in this case)? Or created a MIDI loop between two synths / Livens? That's what I set out to answer in this video with the Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø and Evoke, and I discovered a whole bunch of tricks and possibilities along the way. Over on my Patreon, I have also released an accompanying set of 26 presets (13 for the Ambient, 13 for the Evoke): / sonicware-liven-166832092

Warning: I did experience a couple of freezes while experimenting with this setup. I don't think there's any risk beyond that, but I'm not 1000% sure about that, and a freeze in and of itself can be aggravating if you haven't saved your work, so please bear all that in mind. A couple more notes below, after the table of contents.

A big thank you to my Patreon super supporters, Maria and Tomasz, and all the other supporters of the channel who made this video possible. Like other videos I make, this video started to be released on my Patreon a little while ago, before being made public on here, so if you'd like early-access to future videos, please consider joining!"

Minimal Ambient on the Korg Volca FM2

video upload by Synth Codex

"I recorded this short fragment entirely on the Korg Volca FM2, effects included. No rush, no destination. Just a small, repeating idea left to unfold on its own.

I've been listening to a lot of Japanese ambient music artists lately, such as Hiroshi Yoshimura, Satoshi Ashikawa, Midori Takada, and many others. I wanted to try capturing some of that same spirit here: minimal by design, with room left for rests between notes for the listener to fill in.

Thanks for listening."
