There is as well a rotary and a phaser effect and a bass voice section.
Direct recording with a little reverb from the MPC ONE and soft mastering on the DAW.

"Super rare, mid-70s Italian gem! Great rhythms and independent control of the volume of the sounds (as with the Elka Drummer One) make it useful as well as a curiosity.

It has 16 types of rhythms that can be combined (maximum of 2 together at a time):

• Slow R. • Waltz • Tango • March • Paso D. • Swing • Rock • R. Blues • Shake • Afro • Beguine • Samba • Mambo • Rhumba • Cha Cha • Bossa N.

The front panel includes 2 main controls: Volume and Tempo Speed.

Then 8 sound generators are built in, these are: Bass Drum, Conga, Bongo 1, Bongo 2, Claves, Snare Drum, Maracas, Cymbal. To adjust the overall sound-balance an eight-channel mixer is provided. This is where the machine comes into its own, the percussion simulation is excellent!

In many ways this is a smaller version of the Elka Drummer One, and a stand-alone of the beat boxes Elka were building into their organs at the time. It's all analogue and the sounds are certainly in the same vein as the Drummer One, if not identical, and, as with other Elkas, the superior rhythm programming is again in evidence.

Super collector’s item! Due to the small number of units made and their limited distribution area, at present it’s really difficult to find one of these small pieces of vintage drum machine.

The Rhythm-Machine is super rare, even in Italy - which is its country of origin - you can’t find one like this! If you buy it, you are going to have in your hands a real treasure!"

I've serviced several Wilgamat and I noticed that sometimes you can miss some minor issues in an otherwise working unit, mainly in the bass accompaniement arpeggios: missing notes, wrong pitched notes, double trigger notes... These issues (as most of the issues in this instruments) are caused by faulty CMOS chipsets. These are cheap and easy to replace. Issue can however be in the AY-1-1313 chipsets (Priority Latching Network chipset) and these are harder to find.

Here you can listen to a fullly working and proper sounding unit and compare it to yours. Pay particular attention to the bass part, especially in "walking bass" mode. If one or more patterns do not sound like these then you have some faulty chipsets somewhere.

There is a non intended use of these unit I like: when playing in "key" start mode with lowest tempo, you can use this unit as a simple bass or synth keyboard.

Depending on the pattern selected you don't get the same result. With a little pratice it can turn as a nice simple bass keyboard.

Also note the bass section only spans over 1 octave whereas the accompanient sections spans over 2."

"The Elka Wilgamat was an accompaniment unit intended as an add-on to some of Elka's organ line and also as a standalone unit with dedicated 2 octave keyboard. It consists of a rhythm unit, a bass section and a chord section. All sounds are of course fully analog. It is very similar in features and sound to the Godwin Drummaker, Wersi Wersimatic WM24, Elgam Carousel or Böhm Böhmat. If you don't know these units check the video I made with a different unit. [previously posted here] Unit was serviced and is in fully working order. It comes with a custom DIY keyboard and cable. Cosmetic the unit has some scuffs mainly on the case but overall looks very nice."

"A great example of one of the absolute classics: a late-model Synthex, checked and serviced ready for this auction. Being a low-volume production item, the Synthex went through a few revisions before Elka mistakenly gave up on it because of lack of commercial success. Originally without MIDI, this was first added as a rather awkward breakout box using a 15-pin computer interface. A later version had the MIDI sockets on a metal plate set in to the right of the computer interface, and the final version had the MIDI IN OUT and THRU fitted to the actual back panel of the synth, and did away with the 15-pin interface.

This is the version in the auction, serial number 1543 - a very late example, and arguably the best version of all. It's in really nice cosmetic condition: as usual, the large wooden end cheeks aren't perfect, but the panel and keys are beautiful. Serviced in early 2025 ready for this auction."

During the revision process we replaced some capacitors, cleaned the keyboard and replaced 4 potentiometers.
