"Wishing you a happy New Year for 2023 ! May it be filled with music 🎶, peace 🕊️ and love💕!
After experimenting during the last month of 2022 by publishing 7 'Shorts' let's start 2023 with a more than 2-minute video in order to compensate a bit this special month of December 😅

So for this one, only the Vermona Perfourmer was used for the synth parts (Bass, Arp & Pads) and MFB Tanzbar for the drum parts, with both instruments sequenced by the Arturia Keystep Pro.

#Jamuary 02 - Ambient Techno improvisation: Monome Norns, Grid + Ableton midi controller by Midique

"My second contribution to this years #Jamuary. This time I based my piece around notes generated by the Fall script on Monomer Norns+Grid. I added a simple baseline in Ableton, recorded some of the incoming Midi notes, reduced tempo and created some Pads with these. The drum section is heavily modulated by LFOs with the Slink Max for Live device. Apart from the filters, effects and start end points of the samples (mostly taken from the Tanzbär), it even modulates the steps and events within the Euclidian sequencer. Have fun. Use headphones, if you can :-)"

📀Prophet 10 & MFB Tanzbar Jam💾Unhandled Exception

This jam is over a year old but I had not found the right spot to release it earlier in 2022. I made some final adjustments to the mix and video now, and I still really enjoy the piece and the energy of it⚡️

The jam was initially set up using the prophet, keystep, tanzbar, and the Strymon Magneto, Monsoon, and Meris Polymoon as effects pedals. The main and secondary prophet melodies are engaged on the keystep live on separate tracks in order to mute/unmute them. The "bass line" is coming from the Tanzbar toms controlled by the Keystep. Wanted to keep it longer so some additional layers of Prophet pads and ambiance were added in Reaper to spice up the arrangement.

MFB Dominion 1 | Straight to the top as a favorite bass synthesizer of all time

"The MFB Dominion 1 does one thing very well. Just like the MiniMoog. When you layer bass you often find you need something to fill out the energy spectrum in the lower mids. Lot's of bass sounds has the bottom end, or the highs, but they don't cut through the track.
Just as the MiniMoog before it, The Dominion 1 can fix that very well. It just have the reight energy in the frequencies that needs to be there for bass. If you program it right.
All by itself it also has a lot to offer with its 3 available oscillators. Which can be used to make the Dom 1 paraphonic as well.
In total I find the Dom 1 more suitable for my bass needs than the MiniMoog.

The Memorymoog - Hailed as one of the most epic and lush analog synths ever made. From the early 80s.
MFB Dominion 1 - A monophonic analog synth with a stellar quality in terms of bass, power and programmability.
The Waldorf MicroWaveXT - A sequel of sorts, to the MicroWave and PPG. Wavetable synths, with smoothness and grit, combined.

As I always do with these TAL-sampler packs, I've restricted the use of multi samples within a patch. The TAL-sampler excel at emulating different ADCs (analog to digital converting) from old 80s samplers and as such it's important to have the sampler engine pitch samples down, to get THAT 80s sound.

The Yamaha DX9 in the video is of course just used as a master keyboard.
The drums in the first part of the video are coming from my 'The Ultimate Italo Disco / Synth-Pop Sample Pack'."

Audient ASP880 | 8 channel preamp capturing some synths and a drum machine


"Gear used in this demo: Audient ASP880, Roland JX-3P, MFB Dominion 1 and the Isla S2400.
When recording the separate outputs of my drum machines I find the Audient preamps to be crisp, transparent and very usable.

With the ASP880 you have 8-channels, insert/return points at the back, ADAT out and lots of gain. Very uncomplicated to setup and integrate into your setup. It just works and sounds great."

"A few scuffs and scratches can be seen on the left side of the operation panel .
The rubber feet on the bottom have turned whitish with age.

● Operation
Although it happens infrequently, the Attack/Set button and the Volumen/Nr button sometimes do not switch at once when pressed.
There is sometimes a slight buzzing (noise sound) on the R side of the RCA output terminal. The noise disappears when the tip of the cable is turned.
If you fix the cable and use it, there should be no problem. If possible, please try using contact resurrector for maintenance.
Other basic operations, single note and rhythm pattern sounds by pressing the Play button, response of each button and lighting of lamps, variable Level knob, LCD display, MIDI reception check, etc.
The LCD display, MIDI reception, and so on are all in good working order.
The sequencer function has not been tested."

Wavocalypse (Waldorf M ; Apocalypse + Julianna ; H9 ; Strymon Timeline ; Bigsky // MFB Tanzbar)

"I came up with this simple arpeggio in my previous video (which went rather in an 'indus' direction 😅) and wanted to build another musical arrangement aroung it (with a different bass-line).
So here is the result, where I only used the Waldorf - M (analog/digial hybrid wavetable synth) for all synth parts, in multi-mode with each of the 4 parts going to individual outputs, through different effects chains as seen in the video. The M was sequenced by my DAW.
As for the drums, I used the MFB Tanzbar analog 'drumcomputer', which was synced to my DAW (I used the internal sequencer of the Tanzbar to program the 3 patterns used here).

- Waldorf - M with the following effects for the:
- BASS: Death by Audio - Apocalypse (Fuzz) + Walrus Audio Julianna (Chorus/Vibrato)
- PLUCK: Strymon Timeline (dBucket delay)

- CHIMES: Eventide - H9 (Dualverb)
