"Dove Audio D100 WTF Oscillator demo. A very quick rendering of the dynamic waveform animation possible with the Window Transform Function that the D100 does so well. It is very organic.

I used two step sequencers from sythesizers.com, three LFO's and a delay from Modcan to demo this. No filters or VCA's are used here."

"Messing on the Modcan. In particular, I'm exploring the very interesting Cynthia Twin Wasp Filter. This is based on the EDP Wasp multi-mode filter, but it has two of them, controlled by one set of inputs and one output

Also in this patch is a simple drum machine setup using the sequencer trigger outputs

Theres also a tiny bit of reverb from the astonishing Roland R880 mainframe reverberation system

"Another adventure with the Arturia MicrFreak, Empress Reverb and Strymon Blue Sky.
The opening sequences are from the MicroFreak. The bass is a pair of Q106 vco's through a Q107 filter. Sequenced by the Q119 step sequencer.
Clocking from the MicroFreak. Clock dividers included 4MS OCD and RCD.
Percussion by Korg Volca Drum.
I noodled around with the System 8 and faded out with a pair of vco's (Harvestman Piston Honda and Ian Fritz DDVCO) sequenced by MI Marbles. Digital delays provided by Modcan and Behringer.

Quick note: The 5U he's referring to is the MOTM format. 5U is also commonly used to refer to the MU/synthesizers.com/dotcom format. 5U refers to the height. MOTM has different horizontal spacing when it comes to the mounting screw holes and it uses it's own power connects. It's similar to eurorack and 3U referring to both the Doepfer and Analogue Systems formats. You can find a modular format chart posted here back in 2007, formats covered on wikipedia here, and info on the MOTM format on Synthesis Technologies site here.

"Arturia MicroFreak sequence controlling a Q960 step sequencer. The bass line is the Mutable Instruments Braids in 5U. The chorus voice is a Q106 with the Synthetic Sound Labs digital delay and Strymon Blue Sky reverb. Two Suit & Tie Guy envelope generators control the various bass and chorus voices from the Q960. A Modcan 73B delay is used with the MicroFreak.The Roland System 8 is playing an arpeggiated part over the top for background effect.
All recorded in real time to Cubase. Edited in Final Cut Pro."

"Modcan A-Series consisting of original Modcan and Cynthia modules. These are incredibly rare and extremely well-built systems that almost never come on the market. I am putting the whole system up for sale including the cabinet and power supply and don't want to split it up at this stage. It covers many types of synthesis from West-Coast Buchla-esque madness to Moog and ARP style fatness or even pristine FM synthesis using the fabulous Zeroscillators. There is the extremely rare Frequency Shifter module (one of the best ever designed), voltage controllable envelopes, plenty of modulation sources (LFOs), 5 filters, and some exotic modules like the Burst Generator and Sub-Mux for good measure! There is a spare space so that if and when you find some more A-Series modules you have room to expand (the power supply can be relocated to the back of the cabinet freeing up 2 more spaces if necessary)"

"A bunch of sketches on my new (old) Modcan A modular system. I damn well love this thing! Its such a beautifully designed system - offering utter uniqueness and flexibility. It seems to fall between West-coast and East-coast design philosophies - combining all the good things about modular synthesis in one giant bundle of fun. The system here is made up of original Modcan A modules and also Cyndustries A-format ones. These were made a bit later once the A-series format had become established around the mid 2000's. What is cool is that Cyndustries used to commission / licence designs from well known figures in the synth design world - and put the names of the designers on the front of the modules. It reads like a who's who of the geeky electronic scene, with names like Nyle Steiner, Chris Huggett, Jurgen Haible, Don Buchla, Ken Stone, Bernie Hutchins, Peter Granader, Serge Tcherepnin. "Messing with the Modcan, along with the Serge. First I patched a wave shaped VCO on the Serge Paperface, using the Serge sequencer too. Then it goes over to the Modcan where the clock from the Serge triggers bass drum, snare and percussion sounds. Dance!
