Vote No On Proposition 8

Vote No On Proposition 8.

Just thought I'd balance out that ad people in CA might have been seeing on the top right of the site. Apologies to those in CA for the ad. Totally inappropriate on this site. Not sure how traditional marriage is at risk... The reason this world is so messed up is lack of tolerance and people trying to force their views on others. Period. Fight for your rights and fight against the "right" to take it away from others less fortunate than you. Google Ads are off until after the election. Thanks goes to Josh for sending this one in.

WALDORF WAVE Synthesizer Demo. Delay effect without delay ?

YouTube via mikehuckaby. Unfortunately this is a really short one.
"This is a demonstration indicating the enormous potential of the Waldorf Wave. I was baffled when i was shown how a delay effect could take place on the WAVE, when it doesn't have internal effects at all. Listen to the audio in the clip. Each time a note or a chord is played, it repeats itself.

Just imagine a well thought out synth line, or chord progression using this effect. Oh boy, its time to make some serious music now.

AVIADOR DRO - La TV es nutritiva

YouTube via mgmanu2. Via David on AH. 1982. Is this the first TV appearance of the Roland TB-303? Anyone spot the other synths?
"Actuación en el programa de Ángel Casas 'Musical Express'"

Some notes via David on AH:
"(bassline makes appearance, in sync with 606, of course at 1:30 and 3:45)
"La Television es Nutrativa" appears on the LP Primer Aliento recorded '81 & '82
"El Naciemiento de la Industria" was on the Navidades Radioactives comp from 1982 which is when I'd assume they made the promotional rounds on Spanish TV.
El Aviador Dro are an outstanding band. Their 1st ever US tour brought them to a Rhumba club in Queens in 2006 where I captured the updated sound (sans 303) of "Nuclear Si":

MooCowMusic Drummer

YouTube via HirnW
"The iPhone Drum Pad. Played by the iBand's drummer.
For iPhone and iTouch.

To hack an iPhone might void your warranty!"

BTW, the iPhone SDK is coming in March. :) I can't wait to see what comes out of that. For those not familiar with the term SDK, it stands for Software Development Kit. Apple will be opening up the iPhone to 3rd party developers, so music applications and soft synths are shure to come and you will not have to void your warranty. What I am curious about is if there will be restrictions in what and how you can load apps to your iPhone as poorly written code could result in major support issues/costs for Apple.

Where are they now? IRCAM’s Buchla

Barry Threw dropped by this prior post on the IRCAM Buchla. He actually found it.

"Last week I was down in San Deigo working on some ongoing projects with Keith McMillen (of the BEAM Foundation) and Miller Puckette (of Max and pd fame), and ran into this gem, the Buchla 100 from Ircam, in a spare bedroom."

You can see and read more about it on his blog.

Udpate: see the comments of this post for more info as well. I removed the references to 100 from this post so there is no confusion.
