The River by Baloran - New Videos, Availability and Price

The River by Baloran (sounds only) Published on Jun 5, 2017 coyotesynth

Two new videos of The River by Baloran spotted and sent in via Soviet Space Child who stated the following: "Apparently a price of 5000 Euros with preorders starting in the next couple of months, with production units shipping within 9 months of that, starting with France and local countries first." The price might seem high, but according to the specs posted here, this an eight voice poly synth with VCO's based on Moog's The Source - a poly Source in essence. See the Baloran label for more.

Queen's Radio Ga Ga on the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on Mar 20, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"In 1984 Radio Ga Ga was my favorite song. I would listen to it over and over and over....until my parents intervened. LOL I created this cover of Queen's masterpiece using the Baloran The River synthesizer. EVERY sound other than the drums and Freddie's vocals come from The River. I used Cubase to mix the piece and tried to use only stock plugins to create the vibe or the original song. The only other real difference is that I slowed the piece down about 6 bpm, as my synth version just sounded better to my ears slowed down a bit. Other than that though, I tried to stay as trues as possible to the original track."

Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner performed on the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on Apr 17, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"Richard Wagner's epic piece, 'Ride of the Valkyries' was done on the Baloran The River synthesizer and multitracked using Steinberg's Cubase 10 Pro. Other than The River, only reverb and delay FX were used. I have to admit that this piece was very challenging, but I tried to stay as true as possible to the original piece. The River has seriously been like synth 'Valhalla' to me, and it was a pleasure spend the last week putting this together.

The 'Ride of the Valkyries' (German: Walkürenritt or Ritt der Walküren) refers to the beginning of act 3 of Die Walküre, the second of the four operas constituting Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen. As a separate piece, the 'Ride' is often heard in a purely instrumental version, which may be as short as three minutes. Together with the 'Bridal Chorus' from Lohengrin, the 'Ride of the Valkyries' is one of Wagner's best-known pieces."

Il y avait .. à vent...

Laurent Baloran

Baloran controlled by Aodyo Sylphyo wind instrument. Googlish translation below.

Googlish:

"Laurent, a northern comrade and his team designed the Sylphyo, an autonomous and midi wind instrument via the lynk. Of course, I wanted to take an interest in Midi and its connection with The River. I took advantage of version 2.0 of The River OS to adapt the CC11 breath information to the operation of The River: smoothing the flow, modifying the envelope cycle (the decay 'disappears' and the sustain is 'replaced' by breath ...),
Everything you hear comes out of the River, one plug, effects included (the new Shim). Here, you will note with fright that I did not work a lot the flute at school;)"

The River & Friends

Published on Nov 11, 2018 coyotesynth

"The River from Baloran is not only a great 8 voice analog polysynth, it is also a control center for your studio. In this example, you will not hear the River only, but many other synths/FX.
In this movie, you can hear 2 River sounds:

- a simple sound bass processed through the GRP A4 BPF filter, animated through its step sequencer synchronised by MIDI. As the River only has a 24dB ladder filter, I wanted to test its oscillator with other filters. This sound uses a individual output, so it is not part of the main mix and is not processed by the River FX. The end of the signal goes to the Strymon Timeline.

- a classic analog pad using the 7 remaining voices. Those voices are processed with the Tri-Chorus and the River Digital FX.

Other sounds are from the analog rytm (processed thru OTO Biscuit bitcrusher/analog filter at the end), Novation Peak for metallic arp sound."

"L'essentiel est là ;) The Riverkey intègre les fonctionnalités attendues. The Riverkey correspond à mes attentes, c'est un excellent centre de contrôle pour les configurations hétéroclites pleines de CVs, Gates et autres Midi. La commutation des profils permet de passer d'un univers à l'autre et la disponibilité individuelle des séquenceurs et arpégiateurs est plutôt créative. Très plaisant."

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind "The Conversation" performed on the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on Apr 6, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"If you haven't seen this movie in a while I urge you to do so, as it is a FANTASTIC movie! I recreated the iconic synth/UFO conversation scene from Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind using only the sounds from the incredible Baloran The River synthesizer.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is a 1977 American science fiction film written and directed by Steven Spielberg, and starring Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dillon, Teri Garr, Bob Balaban, Cary Guffey, and François Truffaut. It tells the story of Roy Neary, an everyday blue-collar worker in Indiana, whose life changes after an encounter with an unidentified flying object (UFO).

The score for the film was composed, conducted and produced by John Williams, who had previously worked on Spielberg's Jaws. Williams wrote over 300 examples of the iconic five-tone motif for Close Encounters—the five tones are used by scientists to communicate with the visiting spaceship as a mathematical language—before Spielberg chose the one incorporated into the film's signature theme."

Baloran The River: 2 arps & 1 pad

Published on Jan 27, 2019 coyotesynth

"The River by Baloran is an 8 voice analog polysynth. A voice Card is a Moog Source clone.

The River is up to 4 parts multitimbral. In this example, 2 parts play 2 different arp pattern, while a 3rd one plays a pad. Analog TriChorus is also used, and a delay FX.

All sounds are directly recorded from The River. No outboard FX have been used. No DAW FX added. This is pure River sound."

Game of Thrones theme performed on the Baloran the River synthesizer

Published on Apr 21, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"I recreated the awesome theme to HBO's epic series Game of Thrones using the Baloran The River synthesizer, which was multi-tracked in Cubase 10. The music for the series was composed by the very talented Ramin Djawadi...

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The series premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and will conclude with its eighth season."

Puttin' On The Ritz (Taco's 1982 version) cover with Baloran's The River & the VC340 vocoder

Published on Sep 25, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"I've always LOVED this piece ever since I first heard it in 1982.

Taco Ockerse, known as Taco, is an Indonesian-born Dutch singer and entertainer who started his career in Germany. Taco released his first single, 'Puttin' On the Ritz' in 1982 and his version of the song also had pieces of other Irving Berlin songs.

The only synth used for this track was the mighty Baloran the River. The Behringer VC340 vocoder was used to get my wife's vocals into the piece. We also decided to put her 'normal' un-vocoded voice into the final 1/3 of the song to give it a more organic feel. NI's Maschine was used for the percussion and all tracks were recorded into and mixed/mastered with Cubase 10 Pro."

On Galactic Comet - featuring the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on Feb 25, 2019 Sean Christopher - Evoking Emotion Through Music

"I originally wrote this piece about 6 years ago for a New Age violin track actually, but like many of my previous compositions, it translates very well into electronic synthesizer music. The only instrument used on this track was the glorious The River synthesizer by Baloran. I only used external reverb on the 2 main lead sounds, but everything else came from the The River. Cubase was also used for the multi-track recording and EQing."

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 by J.S. Bach on the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on May 1, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"This piece is dedicated to my father, Gary Dockery (1942 - 2019) who introduced me to Bach and other great classical music artists. Thank you dad, and I love you.

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 is a piece of organ music written, according to its oldest extant sources, by Johann Sebastian Bach. The piece opens with a toccata section, followed by a fugue that ends in a coda. It is one of the most famous works in the organ repertoire.

I recreated Bach's genius using a Baloran the River synth which was multitracked to Steinberg's Cubase 10 Pro. The reverb is from Exponential Audio’s awesome R4 reverb plugin. I'm estimating that I spent close to 100 hours putting this together....and in the end I believe that it was worth every single minute. Working on Bach pieces is very humbling. My God that man was a genius!"
