The arpeggiator

"Hi everyone,
I was lucky enough to be part of the sound-designer team for the new Arturia synth plug-in, the Sq-80 V , here is a little demo i made with some of the presets i created for the sound bank factory included in the synthesizer. For this "Techno" demo I used 13 instances of the synth plus few wav sounds for the drums (kick, snare hh and ride) on my DAW (Cubase from Steinberg) , of course I didn't use any other synths or effects other than a little compression and eq to fine tune the mix and a touch of mastering (also because Mix and mastering is part of my daily job 😉 ) I really liked it when Arturia told me about the Sq80v, having used them in the 90's I really love them and I'm a bit nostagic of the sound of the first hybrid polyphonic synthesizers that mix the coldness and the hardness of the digital oscillators and the warmth of the analog filters. I'm also a big fan of the number of modulations available, the 4 envelopes with 4 bipolar stages, the 3 lfo's and the modulation mixer are a dream for sound designers, without forgetting the Arturia touch with the super simple and hyper inspiring macro management.

Another Arturia software synth... another great synth to play with. Like all the Arturia soft synth, the SQ80v is a great recreation of a classic (in this case digital ) synth. They do not limit themselves with the limits of the original. They add an easy to use UI for the Synthesis section and extras: Arpeggiator, Unison mode, expanded envelopes, dispersion, mod matrix and MPE.
Using the 8 bit 5503 DOC chip, the original SQ80 was capable of unique organic digital character that is still sought out today.

* Microtuning tables

Pigments features a twin audio engine, letting you mix virtual analog and wavetable oscillators to create the perfect starting point for your patch. You can even morph wavetables, or import your own.What you do next is up to you. Experiment with 3 envelopes, 3 LFOs, and 3 function generators. Assign modulators to animate your sound, and breathe life into it. Add controlled, or totally wild random changes to any parameter with a Turing probability generator. Run it through 2 filters, with any combination of iconic analog filters or modern formant and surgeon filters you want. Process your patch with exciting contemporary effects like wavefolder and multifilter, or vintage studio reverbs, delays, and EQs.

"Part 2 of our three-part series along California Highway 58. In this segment we travel from the town of Tehachapi east out of the mountains and into the desert, along the edges of the town of Mojave, California City, and Edwards Air Force Base. Along the way, we cross Highway 14 at one of my favorite interchanges.

The music features synthesizers and electronics by Amanda Chaudhary with drums by G Calvin Weston. It combines West Coast metal, No Wave, and other styles.

"Arturia Pigments 6 🔥 received a major update, introducing the Modal engine loved by Minifreak and Microfreak users. Now, there are more settings and expanded possibilities for physical modeling. It’s particularly great for creating mystical bells.
I also really enjoyed the new Lo-Fi Filter, especially when paired with Jitter.
Among other things: a vocoder, a new modulator, filters, an Envelope Follower, and various interface improvements. And, as usual, 100 new presets were added as a nice bonus, showcasing the new features of version 6. In this video, I'll walk you through my favorite sounds.

"We explore the CP-70 V, a new instrument from Arturia released as part of V Collection X. It's a recreation of Yamaha's classic CP-70 electro-acoustic piano that combined customized piano strings and hammer action with piezoelectric pickups, a pre-amp, and other electronic processing. It's compact size made it a "portable piano" and a popular instrument for touring artists in the 1970s and beyond.

We go over the CP-70 V's features, including the main panel that recreates the look and feel of the original, the advanced panel that allows finer control over the acoustic and electric aspects of the instrument, the effects panel, and some factory presets.
