Büromaschinen | What a single pattern can do | X.12 Firmware exploration
video upload by buromaschinen
"A bit late to the party.
Not a proper song, it's a single pattern first exploration to test the new sound design and manipulation possibilities of the Elektron Machinedrum unofficial Firmware ver. X.12.
It's unbelievably good.
I'm totally shocked/in awe and I think I will go MD X.12 only for a while.
It really feels like that Monomachine/Machinedrum hybrid I have been dreaming about for such a long time.
Next thing I want to do is a pure data midi2CC script that allows me to input notes and chords with a midi keyboard.
A special thank you goes to the developers, you really did an incredible job.
If I could make a little wish for a future addition: I would love to have tonal mode for the ROM machines as well, I have a huge sample library from the Amiga era that is waiting to be loaded in the UW :)
In this exploration I mainly used GND-PU and GND-SW for the melodies, all synthesis, no samples. The pulse bass/pad thing is sidechained with a NFX-CO machine and the main pads use a NFX-EV to achieve long attack/release and double stage filtering.
All the audio is coming from the main AB out, no additional audio outputs were used.
You can find my music on buromaschinen.bandcamp.com

First Jam with Dream Cinematic Synthesizer Solar 42N
video upload by Pipo Ferreira
"What an incredible machine. Had to capture the very first little jam with the new Elta Music Solar 42N. Just got it this week and finally got around to playing with it today. Just scratching the surface of what it can do. Can't wait to learn all its intricacies and develop some techniques with it so I can hopefully take it to a future live performance. Dream synth for me!
Also, can't wait to sample it a bunch into the Elektron Tonverk.
Stick around for future jams with it if you are interested. And, of course, thank you for watching/listening!"

Drones & Depths - Elektron Digitone 2 Sound Pack by A Force Truly Evil
video upload by A Force Truly Evil
"https://sci-fiaudio.com/?product=dron...
GENERATIVE SYNTHESIS IN CONSTANT EVOLUTION — ART AND TECHNIQUE IN SYMBIOSIS
Drones & Depths is a sound pack focused on Drone, Ambient, generative textures, and experimental electronica. Built around deep, evolving drones and self-modulating synthesis, the sounds are designed to unfold over time — often from a single sustained note.
Elektron Digitone 2 Sound Pack:
94 Patches:
52 Drones
16 Pads
11 Polys
15 Bass
These sounds are rich, atmospheric, and continuously mutating. Ideal for long-form soundscapes, textural layering, or minimalist performances. Many patches rely on subtle internal modulation to evolve organically, without external automation.
All sounds include modulation assigned to the Mod Wheel to add expressiveness and modulation in real time.
24 Patterns included:
Pre-made patterns showcasing generative textures, ambient structures, and sequences that evolve over time to spark instant inspiration.
Perfect for:
Ambient, Drone, IDM, generative music, film scoring, or experimental electronica."

Footwork Beat | Elektron Machinedrum
video upload by Akihiko Matsumoto
"MDJK808 Drumkit: https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...
Machinedrum Sample Pack
The Elektron Machinedrum, first introduced in the early 2000s, was not simply a drum machine. It was a digital architecture built to generate percussion with surgical precision and metallic sharpness. Its synthesis models produced results that went beyond drum programming, moving into the territory of sound design. Even today, no software plugin has managed to fully replicate its distinctive texture.
This collection captures that uniqueness. Every sample was recorded directly from the Machinedrum itself. No external processing, no layering. What you hear is the circuitry of early Elektron design, distilled into one-shots that highlight the instrument’s raw identity.

MDScaler Machinedrum Tonal Quantizer for Monome Norns #elektron #machinedrum #monome
video upload by HANJŌ
"Check out MDScaler — a Monome Norns script I developed to bring tonal pitch control and creative randomness to the Elektron Machinedrum (or any CC-controllable synth).
With MDScaler, you can:
Quantize any incoming CC to a musical scale of your choice
Randomize notes within the active scale for generative ideas
Map to Machinedrum’s pitch parameter (using Tonal mode in X firmware)
Use parameter-lock compatible CC control so each step can evolve melodically
Switch encoder modes: channel select, CC number, note stepping, octave cycling
In this demo video, I walk through the interface, show it in action on a pattern, and explore how randomness + scale constraints can yield interesting melodic/rhythmic results.
Controls (via Norns / MDScaler):
Element Function
E1 Change Scale Mode
E2 Adjust Root Note (C, C#, D, etc.)
E3 Toggle between Channel / CC / Note modes
K2 Send a Random Note from current scale
K3 Mode Select (toggling E3 behavior)
K3 + K2 Cycle Octave
Pitch mapping / defaults:
By default, MDScaler maps to Machinedrum tracks via CCs using a consistent offset pattern across groups of 4 tracks (16, 40, 72, 96) per channel. You can reassign or explore as desired.

E-MU Systems Emax I w/OLED and USB Disk Drive SN 2326
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this Reverb listing
"Just the facts:
1. This E-mu Emax is in good condition.
2. This includes the E-mu Emax itself.
2. This includes an OLED display.
5. This includes a Gotek drive from Monotanz.
6. This includes an IEC power cable.
6. The original power supply has been replaced with a new supply.
7. This does not include the original factory box and paperwork or any floppy disks.
Please take a look at the pictures. As you can see, this Emax is in good condition.
Good condition Emax! Various skiffs and scuffs here and there from 35+ years of faithful service. This Emax functions great: all the keys work, the sliders and mod wheels work, the display has been replaced with an OLED display and is much more readable, the power supply has been replaced with a modern one (much cooler), a Gotek drive is installed and replaces the floppy disk drive, and all of the ins and out work.
I am including a USB key that about 350 disks loaded on it, including the factory samples, third party samples, and some famous samples from an 80s band.
That said, this is an old keybaord. There are skiffs and skuffs on the unit. The potentiometers and digital sliders appear to be in great shape, but there might be some dust and crackles to chase after and clean out sometimes. The audio ins and outs are working without issue, but keep in mind this is a noisy sampler (relatively speaking, compared to 2025 standards). This is old technology, but old technology that sounds AMAZING. But, not noise-free as you might expect from an Elektron device.
Overall, this Emax is in really good shape, and the front panel looks great. A lot of Emaxes I see online, the front panel sticker is de-laminating and peeling off. This one is in super great shape. Take a look!
Please understand this is a well loved sampler from the 1980s."

Elektron Tonverk and Piano
video upload by Luca Longobardi
"There’s a peculiar stillness in being liminal — like standing at the edge of two worlds, neither belonging to what was nor to what will be. It’s the quiet ache of transformation, where certainty dissolves and possibility hums just beneath the skin. In that threshold, time feels suspended, and identity, momentarily unanchored, begins to listen to its own becoming."

Elektron Tonverk Jam | Simple Lead, Bass and Percussion
video upload by Bobo makes music
"A short jam on the Elektron Tonverk. I made a simple synth lead and a bassline from the stock samples, then added a multitrack for the percussion. Nothing too complex, but it was nice to put together."

Elektron Digitone 2 Presets. Synth, Bass, Arp. Sound Demo
video upload by Anton Anru
"🌌 An atmospheric melodic preset bank for Digitone II. Built with the new Digitone II engines, this pack explores the beauty of imperfection — where cosmic vastness collides with corrosion. Stellar Rust is centered around atmospheric basses, evolving arpeggios and expressive synth tones, all carrying a balance of tenderness and metallic bite.
💾 It includes: 14 Basses, 10 Arps, 10 Synths, 8 FXs, 8 Pads, 5 Plucks, 5 Sequences, and 4 Leads.
📦 Get these presets: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/digi...
Created and performed by Moino.
‼️ Compatible with Digitone 2 only. Not compatible with Digitone 1.
The sounds move between immersive depth and subtle grit: basses hum with rusted resonance, arps glimmer like broken constellations, and synths breathe with both warmth and tension. Each patch feels like a fragment of cosmic debris, glowing with imperfect beauty — emotional, textured, and alive.
🛎 Tip: Experiment across tonalities — every key reveals new shades, from haunting delicacy to raw sharpness. This is music where the stars rust into sound.
