"Recorded some time ago with a sound I love as much now as I did back then ... here's my duophonic (two voice) Eurorack modular synth voice made up of modules from SoundForce. I enjoy putting single manufacturer voices together out of modules to see what the accumulator sound and character is and with the SoundForce range inspired by the early 1980s Roland Juno synthesisers it was bound to sound great. I'm using one keyboard played voice working against a basic 7 step probability varying sequence."

It continues to be something I really enjoy and I think it's maybe a bit of a missed trick so here we are highlighting it! Add some negative voltages to the CV control, freeze the outputs of ochd and the expander and enjoy the held sustained tones in your patches before letting run free again."

Look beyond clean waveforms and predictable polyphony. Luna will take you back to a time when digital didn’t mean perfect. It meant raw. Inspired by the subterranean DIY culture of the 70s and 80s, Luna is a love letter to the Lunetta machines of old: Living, breathing organisms built from CMOS logic chips. But where those machines were fragile experiments, Luna is a weaponized instrument of sonic confusion.

The Nervous System Exposed. True to the Neutral Labs philosophy, we don’t believe in hiding the magic behind an opaque face plate. Luna features exposed CMOS inputs and outputs right on the front panel. You're not just patching cables, you are rewiring the brain of the synthesizer itself. Combine signals, bend logic, and physically intervene in the computation to create sounds that shouldn't exist.

Rhythm is Timbre. Timbre is Rhythm. In the world of Luna, there is no difference between a sequencer and an oscillator. The same digital pulse that drives a bass line can be accelerated into a screeching lead or folded into a metallic drone.

5 oscillators provide the raw material. A chaotic array of logic blocks (XOR, NOT, AND, shift registers, counters, multiplexer) will chew up those signals and spit out complex, evolving mathematical noise.

Taming the Digital Mess. Raw logic can be harsh. To turn this binary chaos into music, Luna feeds its digital soul through 3 organic low-pass gates. These analog circuits impart a natural decay and percussive punch to the madness, transforming mathematical errors into bongos, plucks, and thumping basslines.

Drench it in Atmosphere. Once you’ve constructed your signal, destroy it again. Luna comes equipped with a suite of effects — distortion, delay, reverb, chorus, bitcrusher, phaser and more — to smear your logic into a wash of ambient bliss or gritty industrial texture.

Creative Cross Modulating Eurorack Filters // Double Bubble by Thonk Synth

Whether it's dual parallel channels, series filer routings, mono to stereo, stereo in and out or even mono filtering with a separate filter modulator (a filter modulator? What? - heads up, it's ace!). Check out the patches below."



"Double Bubble is a 16HP Eurorack dual analog multi‑mode filter designed for creative sound design and flexible signal processing. Each channel features an analog filter core that can operate in one of four modes – Low‑Pass, High‑Pass, Band‑Pass, or Notch. The input of Channel A is normalled to Channel B so its easy to create stereo filter patches from a mono sound source.

The two channels of Double Bubble can run as independent dual mono filters or be linked together for stereo operation. The filters can also be routed in serial configuration to create more complex signal paths such as a variable width bandpass or notch phasing effects. The SPACING control and wide range of CV inputs give deep modulation possibilities such as dynamic formant style filtering.

The FEEDBACK and XMOD (cross‑modulation) controls add further interaction between the two channels, ranging from subtle harmonic enhancement at low settings to more extreme, self‑modulating textures when increased. The dedicated V/OCT inputs for each channel allow the filters to function as FM oscillators or tone sources when pushed into self‑oscillation. This flexibility allows the Double Bubble to cover a wide range of roles, from precision cascading filter patches to dynamic stereo filtering and experimental feedback adventures!
