Jacking Circuit Tracks into Google Gemini AI—DAWless Chaos in Real-Time!
video upload by LucaTronico
"So… what happens when you hot-wire a Novation Circuit Tracks into Google Gemini Music AI (Lyria) over Web MIDI and tell them to play nice?
Answer: they don’t.
Instead you get a live, DAW-free roller-coaster of broken genres, AI hallucinations, surprise crashes, and the occasional moment of pure synth bliss. 🤖🎛️💥
This isn’t a 'click-and-generate' demo—the AI is running in real time, riding (and sometimes derailing) every knob twist I throw at it.
Is it techno? Vaporwave? Polka-drum-&-bass? Nobody knows. But it’s weird, it’s raw, and it’s 100 % unrepeatable."

Sounds From the Future in 1930
video upload by Production Zone
"At 1930 it Sounds from the Future | The Father of Synths nobody talks about 🎛️⚡
Meet the Trautonium, one of the first electronic instruments ever made — way before synthesizers became mainstream. 🎛️
⚡
Invented in 1930, this futuristic machine uses a resistor wire and metal plate to create wild sounds, with techniques like vibrato, glissando, and even quarter tones. Absolute music history right here. 🕰️🎶
The Trautonium, an early synthesizer that alongside the theremin and the ondes martenot is considered the pioneer of electronic instruments."

SERGE INORI // Saigon 1975
video upload by Dexba
"50 years since the end of the war that showed the world how foolish wars are.
It's not a regional thing, it's not a sporadic thing: it's the core nature of war, that, finally, people were able to see towards the end of the Vietnam War.
When the plot gets so lost nobody even knows where they are going, who they are really fighting, what and why they are fighting, the blind brutality of the conflict becomes finally clear: the war for the war's sake.
This piece is an expressionist recording of the overstimulating nature of an armed conflict – there are helicopters, indistinctly passing by and falling, monkeys (who maybe were once humans?) screaming from the jungle, there is warfare, and it's relentless.
A quick note on the instrument: without my SERGE system, I would have never recorded this piece. It's hard to state if it came first the egg of wanting to record this genre of music or the chicken of my 4U modular, but the only unequivocal is that, to me, Serge means first and foremost an artistic legacy, and without even naming names, I always felt the pressure to make my time spent with the instrument worth a bit more than the quick enjoyment of some electronic strumming.
The freedom of the highest latitude of exploration possible with a SERGE instrument is what made it possible, having the confidence that my creativity, and my skills, were the only limiting factors in the equation, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do this and share it with all of you."

Buchla Tiptop 264T | ART protocol hacking with XAOC Drezno
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"According to Gur from TTA this was unlikely to work, but 'unlikely' is not impossible. The ART protocol is something like analog encoded digital data used to be transferred over regular patch cables. It carries information that can be used to play quantized notes on an ART capable VCO like the 259t (and obviously the ART series from TTA). I tried using XAOC Drezno to convert the ART signal to bits, and then scramble a few before recoding it back to analog. This is just an experiment and it was a bit too much off-topic for episode 14. It would also make the video too long and nobody's watching the end of long videos anymore. It makes me wonder if this could also work on MIDI data, but that's for another day."

Behringer Wave Digital Synthesizer User Review [Demo 01]
video upload by gstormelectro
"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025
Today I am giving a user review of the new Behringer Wave. My personal thoughts and opinions. I bought this synth with my own tax refund money. So nobody has input into what I'm posting here today. The Wave is promoted as a faithful reproduction of the PPG Wave 2.3 digital synthesizer in all its lo-fi glory. With a touch of some modern feature additions. While I have tried a friend's original PPG, this is not a comparison to the original. Nor is this an exhaustive how-to, nor covering all features.
Is the Behringer Wave right for you?
What makes the Wave stand out from other synths?
Is the Wave a good value for the money?
Can I recommend the Wave to others?

LSPXPO 2025: Vpme.de - Power your Eurorig from a USB-C Battery
video upload by sonicstate
"This is one of those 'why has nobody done this before?' ideas - apologies if somebody has already done this and we just missed it, but kudos to vpme.de for bringing this out: a small module for your Eurorack rig that can accept power from a regular USB-C power bank and convert it into the 12V and 5V voltages needed to run Eurorack cases."

Prototype 8 Voice Roland Jupiter 6
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this listing
Pics of the inside below.
"This is one of likely one Roland Jupiter 6 with 8 voices. It was a custom project made by Roland engineers in the 80s. Usually the JP-6 has a 2 voice board and a 4 voice board, but this one has custom code and a fully populated second 4 voice board for more polyphony or two 4 voice splits. It also has a custom RAM mod that gives you 3x the patch banks for more patch storage.
The synth itself is in good shape. There are a handful of slider caps that don't match (from Juno 106 and JX3P) but that's only cosmetic. It is fully functional with no issues.
If you want something nobody else has, this is it."

✈️ Alesis AIR FX ✈️ 🎧 (no talking) 🎧
video upload by Cutoff Frequency - gear stuff (no talking)
"This is a video demonstrating the sounds of the Alesis AIR FX.
The Alesis AIR FX was released in 2001 and it wasn't much of a commercial succes. At the time I was very reluctant to go on stage with a laptop of any sort, so I was always on the lookout for performative instruments. This ticked all the boxes. Just put it between a sound source and an input and start sculpting your sound in the air. It looks great on stage, all tough it might be something of a insiders thing. Still, it is a bit of a mystery to me why nobody is using these kind of effects. Nowadays they sell for reasonable prices, so I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if mine broke."

When Worlds Collide | Why I don't need a lock-in amp | COLLIDE 4 Ep. 03
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
Cinematic+Laboratory+COLLIDE+4
"I didn't realize my episode 01 was about three weeks ago. It felt like three months or more. As you may know, this channel is not sponsored and I usually do my research before I buy a module. So far, it didn't work out well and since I am planning to clean-up my collection in 2025, it ended up on my 'may need to go' list.
Don't get me wrong, I think it deserves the 2024 eurorack design award. It's just me not getting along very well. It's advertised as a lock-in amp, but its main purpose is kind of useless in electronic music. So it's meant to be creatively 'abused' and 'repurposed'. Please note I am not trying to use it as a lock-in amp, I am exploring new creative ways to use it.
Instead of making sure your delicate faint source doesn't clip, you'd go for 30 dB gain compensation, turn up the resonance and then gain the filter some more. It's designed to isolate a faint sinewave hiding in a wall of noise and extract phase and amplitude. But why should we even want to do that? And then there's a simple ringmod, a relatively simple sine VCO with TZFM support and some logic. It can't process stereo signals because it will cancel out your center information.
Since I have a huge collection of modules, I always wondered about making my own 'recipe' with a separate amp, filter, frequency shifter, ring mod and quadrature VCO. I think I came a long way this time, only enforcing the idea that the C4 is 'obsolete' in my collection. So even though it's an excellent module, you'll need to double check if you can build one with separates. It wouldn't be a lock-in amp, but I truly believe I don't need one in its designated role and I will explain why.
If you do not agree, PLEASE don't just dislike this video, but share your tips and patching tricks, so the community will be able to learn how to appreciate it - including myself.
And then I hooked up the C4 with my improvised version, and a wonderful world of magic opened up. It was so good that I decided to keep the C4 after all, and follow that path. So it's an all over-the-place personal struggle video, but I think it's real and honest. We all end up struggling from time to time. However, my number 1 rule is 'when you feel a module sounds bad, you're not patching it right'. It's not always true, but it encourages me to try things.
Hainbach is a master in restoring life to old 'crap' we'd throw away as trash, and I love his work. But I am not Hainbach and he's not included in the box. I can only stumble in his footsteps. Fortunately, I can just be myself and do my own thing. Just like there's nobody like YOU either."
COLLIDE 4 | Episode 04 | Post-Collision Course
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"I felt I had to make this episode before anything else. In episode 03 I posed the question whether or not I'd need a 'lock-in amp' in eurorack. I got myself into kind of a rut after making two episodes, wondering if I made the right decision to get one. And if this happens, I need to openly reflect on that because there's something to learn from it. If it happens to me, it will definitely happen to you too, because I make these mistakes for a living.
By all means I never meant to say 'do we need a C4'. It depends on your own journey. It turns out Hainbach needs four. Blush Response definitely loved every single HP of it. For his genre and style, the C4 immediately delivers. Truckloads of it.
I was hoping to open a discussion and learn from others, but I've also seen signs of the wasp-nest cancel-culture. I've seen comments I had to delete and I permanently muted some. I do not allow any insults to me, my fellow youtubers and beloved manufacturers. To anyone. But I am too old to get angry about it, or take the insults personally. I learn from personal opinions, I learn from revising my own conclusions, and I always rectify a few episodes later, sharing any new insights. This is a good example.
I kind of promised if there would ever be an episode 04, it would be about a C8, a dual COLLIDE 4. I'll need to work some more on that, but the lab now has two. I had to pay for both of them myself, so there's no 'paid promotion' of any kind. There were no discounts. This is also why it's so much fun to run this channel. I try to be honest, but I can't be objective. I don't ever want you to buy two because I did. I want you to know what you're getting yourself into. The COLLIDE 4 is an open platform. It has no intended use except the scientific measurements of cyclic waveforms in noise. What you get out of it is what you dialed and patched in.
Thanks for your patience and resilience, and be nice to each other."

Korg Wavestate Vangelis Vintage Analog Presets. Sound Demo
video upload by Anton Anru
"Analog Era is a collection of 50 presets for the Korg Wavestate synthesizer, featuring 9 arpeggios, 6 brasses, 6 basses, 6 keys, 9 leads, 5 pads, 2 sequences, and 7 strings.
📼 This sound bank draws inspiration from the iconic sound of Vangelis, the legendary composer behind numerous film soundtracks, most notably Blade Runner. Vangelis' signature style is also prominent in his works from the 1970s, such as Spiral, Albedo 0.39, Earth, and others.
📬 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/wave...
📻 This sound was heavily shaped by the pre-digital era, where electronic music relied on analog synthesizers like the Moog Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, Yamaha CS series, Roland Jupiter series, Korg MS-20, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, and more. Unlike the crystal-clear precision of digital sounds, analog is characterized by warmth, detuning, and subtle distortion, creating a rich texture.
I aimed to recreate the essence of this era and sound in the "Analog Era" soundset.
📸 Analog sound remains highly relevant today and is in great demand across various musical styles. Many sound designers strive to emulate it using modern instruments and plugins because it evokes strong nostalgia and emotional connections, taking listeners back to their childhoods, retro music, and classic films.
🎹 Although the Korg Wavestate is a digital synthesizer, it offers a wide range of features that allow for an accurate emulation of vintage analog sounds. It includes an extensive collection of waveforms and timbres, analog filter emulations, and a variety of effects. I worked to maximize these capabilities to craft the "Analog Era" soundset.
🧿 These performances are perfect for genres such as Synthwave, Retrowave, Synth-Pop, Ambient, New Age, Cinematic, Electronica, Pop, Techno, Industrial, Psytrance, Garage, Progressive, House, Experimental, Breaks, and Drum and Bass. They also work well for movie soundtracks, games, apps, digital art, sound art live performances, and VR landscapes, providing the retro atmosphere that many projects require.

Bad Gear - The Beginner
video upload by AudioPilz
"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. People go DAWless for a reason: swap out the mind-numbing computer screens for the luxury of a pocket calculator display, embrace the limitations of whatever crappy CPU was cheapest during the kickstarter campaign and never get ripped off by Spotify because nobody will listen to your bleeps and bloops anyway.
Today we are going to talk about Circuit Tracks. This 2021 groovebox and barely upgraded successor to the OG Novation Circuit took this philosophy to the extremes: gateway drug price tag, completely screenless UI and a workflow so minimalist it perfectly fits the lifestyle of a generation that will never be able to afford a home."

Exploring The SPACE ORGAN! (Boogie Woogie Blade Runner)
video upload by Simon The Magpie
"I bet nobody knew they needed boogie woogie blade runner? Well the Elka x705 sure provides a whole new way of approaching these types of electrical organs. Cause it has space inside! (not literally, quite the opposite actually, hehe)
Hoping to be able to give it a permanent space in my already very busy room, just gotta try and fix all the things that doesnt work! But expect it to show up more for sure.
I will put files up from the recording I did with Horseman and my neighbor asap. Also here is a link to some Horseman music: (justgottacallhimfirstandgetalink)"

Oct Tone | by the Glasgow Synth Guild
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"I had a short moment of confusion when the Oct Tone was presented to a wide audience. I knew the Octone from Qu-Bit, but nobody shared a bit of how this came to be, except that it was a Jason Lim design. It's obvious the new Oct Tone also comes from the people behind Instruo and I learned that the Glasgow Synth Guild is an entity that manufactures modules/hardware. So Instruo is now a GSG client which makes a lot of sense in the volatile economy of the roaring 20's. I think it's excellent risk management, but I am also aware I am speculating. Anyway, the Oct Tone is a Jason Lim redesign of the module he designed when he still was a Qu-Bit co-founder. So it all makes perfect sense if you unravel the whole story. Still, I took the creative liberty to call it a 'shadow module'. It kind of sounds cool, no drama intended.
It also explains why it's not a regular Instruo module, considering it does not fit Instruo's company vision of making state-of-the-art originals. It's also rumoured Jason prefers all kind of CV running through quantizers while avoiding the use of sequencers. So my final speculation is that the Oct Tone may be the only sequencer you'd get with an Instruo look and feel. I love it.
The Oct Tone is exclusively available from the UK, so beware of shipping and Brexit tax. But if you're an Instruo fan, it's a must have module."

Prophet VS Synth: Sound Selection Showcase
video upload by Andy Whitmore
"Analog Synthesizers Rewind: Top 10 Classics!
S1:Ep1 - The first in a series of 11 videos!
Sequential Circuits Prophet VS – All the Best Sounds
Here's a very cool keyboard from Sequential. Notice the joystick for controlling your sound modeling. The Prophet VS uses Vector Synthesis as its revolutionary new means of sound creation. It uses a total of four oscillators per voice with 127 waveforms (32 user) and dynamic waveform crossfading via the joystick. This was Sequential's first digital synth, and it was also their final synth unfortunately. But after Sequential was gone, Vector Synthesis technology went into the popular Korg Wavestation and Yamaha's SY-22 and TG-33.
The Prophet VS is still a very sought after instrument because it has an incredible range of sounds! Its only problem is that there's practically nobody left that can fix it if something went wrong. It is used by Brian Eno, Trent Reznor, Apollo 440, Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Erasure and filmmaker/composer John Carpenter."

DSI Prophet 08 (the better one) night time melodies
video upload by MIDERA
"I had no interest in recording anything tonight, but I feel like any time I sit down with the DSI Prophet 08, I enjoy it, so I recorded this. Sorry about the crackling. I don't know what it is about the P08, but it seems to distort more easily than other synths. Maybe I just have the levels all wrong.
I had been comparing the P08 to the P10, side by side, and I still have to say to myself 'WTF - I like the P08 more.' In almost every sound I create, the P08 feels more melodic. I don't get it. There's something almost 'boring' in the P10. Or maybe it can just go too wild at the 'same settings'? I don't know what it is, I am sure the P08 is more tame so in a way it more easily makes things sound pleasant. I can usually get them super close (which speaks highly to the P08 I think).
Also - I call it the 'better one' because I absolutely hated the REV2, after owning it once and borrowing it from a friend to compare to the P08. I concluded that the P08 was better then. And it's still one of the best synths I have. I like it more than the P10, PE, P12 (easily), Jupiter 6... Not sure about the Chroma Polaris, which itself is wild, but in a more "Bladerunner" sort of way.
On a personal note - I'm one week into being bald. It's weird. Most people don't say a word and I wonder 'Does that mean they think it looks terrible or does nobody care?' One person did stop me to say they thought I looked good, but I felt like maybe they said that just to be kind, knowing I must feel pretty bad otherwise. Truthfully, it's hard to get used to. I think 'great, I'm just another bald dude...' and think a bit less of myself, but part of me loves the idea of not having to think about my hair after I have a hat on or bike somewhere.
And finally, today I got my final gift from my mom. It was new indoor slippers. She bought me a pair about 10 years ago and I wore them beyond the point that they had holes in the soles. I asked her for a new pair for christmas, but she didn't make it to then, and so I bought myself a pair. I'm wearing them now. It will be sad to throw the old pair out, but I should lay them to rest. They've served me well.

240107 - Jamuary2024 - Liven MEGA Synthesis Jam
video upload by ChrisLody
"Full Disclosure: I occasionally take on freelance work at Sonicware on an hourly rate producing synth & sample sound design, beta testing, checking English text, video manuals etc. This video wasn't paid for directly but as a result of my work with Sonicware it is marked as Paid Promotion
7 days into Jamuary 2024 and I've only managed 2, not really what I'd planned! But at least now the reveal of the Liven MEGA Synthesis is out of the way I can upload some jams using it. Plus this isn't an official Sonicware video, so I can mention the fact that it's designed to emulate the experience of making music on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis hardware unlike in my last video, hopefully to the surprise of almost nobody 😄
I didn't create any fresh patches for this jam, it's all just presets and there's plenty to choose from (including my work of course).
From this video you should be able to hear that the general lo-fi vibe of the YM2612 has been replicated nicely. Part of that is due to a design flaw in it's 9 bit DAC which distorted the sound at quite volumes, often called the Ladder Effect. You can turn that on and off per track on the MEGA.
Apart from the delay on the lead sound I'm not using any effects here, the distorted guitar lead sound is created using just FM synthesis. On the original Mega Drive/Genesis adding delay would have had to be done by duplicating notes onto another channel of the chip using up polyphony, but the MEGA has an effects section so this is a regular guitar pedal like delay effect."
