📺 The soundset draws inspiration from sci-fi movies, cinematic soundtracks, dystopian worlds, urban landscapes, retro electronica, noise ambient albums, experimental modern art, and contemporary sound design.
📼 Built around the concept of imperfection, the collection blends gritty, lo-fi textures with constantly shifting timbres shaped through deep modulation.

📻 The timbral range is wide and diverse, covering dark, noisy, lo-fi, warm, deep, retro/vintage, melancholic, atmospheric, detuned, cold, distant, dull, massive, epic, bright, distorted, metallic, tense, atonal, non-harmonic, FX-like, evolving, and sweeping textures.

🎛 All patches are Velocity-sensitive. The ModWheel enhances expressiveness by adding motion and tonal variation—brightening the sound, introducing vibrato, shifting timbre, or adding extra movement for dynamic and engaging performance.

Aftertouch introduces distortion, increases sustain, or speeds up modulations.
The Macro Knob introduces additional changes—it enhances the stereo effect or detuning, adds bright overtones, or adds modulation to the filter or oscillators.

1st video features TONYLIGHT with the following: 'I’ve used a lot of synths over the years but this one is something different… it’s a strange instrument. It’s small, much smaller than it appears in photos: it is part synth, part drum machine, part multi-track sequencer. I’m still figuring it all out but initial impressions are that it’s very unpredictable and slightly unstable… but in a good way.'"

You asked, I listened! I continued on and programmed another 80 brand new sounds for the amazing TEO-5! It seems this synth is extremely popular which is great to hear for the Oberheim team. And now the desktop has also been announced, it is also available in an even smaller form factor, but with all the magic that the synth offers. and you will be happy to hear, the patches are compatible on both the synth and desktop :)

Solar 42F Jam with Hydrasynth and Waldorf Iridium via External Input

"This is not an amazing ambient music jam I'm afraid, this is just some guy, playing his Solar 42 for fun. I ran my Waldorf Iridium into the Solar via the External Input jack to try it out. The Waldorf was playing an arp sequence with the latch set so it was repeating. Then I played the Solar 42F with the external input coming through and I later overdubbed some Hydra-synth for a bit of variety. I'm not modular patch pro, very much still learning my way by experimentation."
