Fess Grandiose: In Sequence - Using Peak Presets // Novation

video upload by NovationTV

"In this edition of Artist: In Sequence, we caught up with the talented, Chicago-based beatmaker and producer - Fess Grandiose. As an associate editor for Reverb and instructor at Afrorack, an organisation that uses modular synthesis to bridge equity gaps and helps bring African American youth into the world of STEM, he's a central part of the Chicago music community.

He talks about how Peak's presets allow him to get ideas flowing quickly, and why sequencing Peak and his modular system with Circuit Tracks makes for a fun, hands-on approach to making music.

SOUNDMIT 2021 - SPECIALE SYNKET - Il Sintetizzatore italiano più raro! - UNBOXING

video uploads by SOUNDMIT

Googlish translation (original Italian below):

"Topical event of SOUNDMIT 2021 was the discovery, by Francesco Mulassano of Soundmit, of one of the rarest electronic musical instruments in the world and certainly the rarest of those designed and built in Italy.

Found in the United States almost by chance, the SYNKET designed and built by PAOLO KETOFF in 1964 was acquired by the Marche and Italian Synthesizer Museum and is currently undergoing restoration before being exhibited at the next edition of the Museum in 2022.

With this video series, we retrace the history of this tool with interviews, unboxing and passionate chat!

Soundmit 2021 was created in collaboration with the Marchigiano and Italian Synthesizer Museum in Macerata

Due to a technical problem during the second day of the "Soundmit & Museum of Synth 2021" some videos may be of lower quality. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Introducing move.ment | The story behind the instrument | Kia video upload by Kia Worldwide

World's first synth released by a car company?

"Movement in nature has always inspired Kia.

Scientific research shows that the sounds of movement found in nature produce a sound frequency that can help trigger inspiration. In collaboration with synth builder, Arthur Joly [Reco-Synth], we captured the natural sounds of movement all over the world and turned them into an instrument called move.ment.

Now, we bring you the story of move.ment and the inspiring journey that led to its creation.

Tom Oberheim on GForce OB-E

video upload by GForce Software

"'I was pretty amazed by OB-E, it was pretty damn close right out of the shoot. It was “wow!'. I like listening to that." Tom Oberheim.

In 2021, during the release of OB-E®, we were contacted by Marcus Ryle on behalf of Tom Oberheim. Marcus is a co-founder of Line 6® but also a former Oberheim Developer who contributed to the OB-Xa, DSX, DMX, OB-8, Xpander and Matrix 12. Via Marcus, OB-E had found its way to the ears of Tom Oberheim and they were both impressed enough to suggest a collaboration to refine the instrument and release an update carrying their full endorsement.

Working under the guidance of Tom and Marcus, we further enhanced OB-E, Refining the Detune feature and adding a new Vintage knob, which dials in more realistic musical inaccuracies in line with the original instrument for a truly authentic 8-Voice experience.

The 8-Voice is not simply eight identical SEMs put together. The interaction of those 8 independent, and slightly different Synthesizer Expander Modules, plays a major role in making the 8-Voice’s sound special and the injection of these authentic inaccuracies into each of the eight SEMs in OB-E takes it to another level.

But don't listen to us - listen to two of our heroes, and bonafide industry legends, talk about their opinion of OB-E.

Then pass it through a note quantiser

What do you get?

Bijou

and that's not all...

Bijou expands to reveal a neat modulation section with 4 sources and 8 destinations

Bijou can pump out a simple wicked bassline or a long, never repeating generative treatise

All Bijou's power is in your hands

Bijou Step Sequencer is available as a Max for Live device for use only with M4L within Ableton Live

Great Synth Mysteries Ep. 5: The RAREST SYNTH I Just Found Out About (mini)

video upload by Noir Et Blanc Vie

Note it's Paula Maddox of course. Noir Et Blanc does mention it as the video progresses.

"So those of you who follow me KNOW I LOVE the 002, while rare, this details the reason why even the Modal 002 isn't the rarest in the 00 line. Anyways, I did this video more for me than anyone else, but I think I can do 'mini' mysteries more often."
