"Dear synthusiasts,

long time no hear!

First of all, big THANKS to everyone who made it to our KOMAPARTY 2.0 some weeks ago! We had great fun and were happy to hang out with friends and our community <3

Big ups Bertolt Meyer, Teslator, Cate Hops with FridaY and Echosisters!

Here's a few snaps for the vibes:

KOMA BOOTH AT SUPERBOOTH

What's all this??? We're excited to share what we've been working on during the Superbooth preparations, including a few mysterious surprises! You will find us at Booth O400 - same as last year. Just walk up the main big stairs and turn left until you see a bunch of nerds in black dungarees playing weird looking instruments… Probably our best SB drip yet!

This year, we will showcase a handful of brand new designs of upcoming modules to be released later this year including Monoplex - a smaller version of the Komplex sequencer, Bürste - a noise burst generator, a Wavefolder, a Dual Envelope and a KOMA VCO!
Sensei and Kassiopeia, which are both available for pre-order, will also have their space in special installations we’ve prepared especially for this year.

One of them is using your movements or even your heartbeat to generate cool shapes with our new VCO and Sensei sensor modules. You'll be
able to print out the results as a sticker!

Xaoc Devices Introduces ORADEA and ARAD Eurorack Modules

Press release follows:

ORADEA
QUADRUPLE VOLTAGE CONTROLLED RESONATOR
MODEL OF 1950

ARAD
RESONATOR COMMANDER
MODEL OF 1950

Please welcome Oradea: a quadruple voltage controlled analog resonator. You can use it to enhance external audio or to generate tones. It can mimic the resonant characteristics of physical objects or spaces. Oradea's frequency response can be tuned over the entire range of audible frequencies with V/oct response. The module offers precise control over the resonance of each band up to extremely high values with long response to pinging. Oradea is additionaly equipped with four individual trigger inputs for exciting its filters with internally generated, uniform, and finely tuned impulses.

Individual outputs allow you to externally process each band separately. Resonant frequency gain compensation prevents uncontrolled distortion (the gain at peak does not increase with resonance). There is a VCA and a polarity switch in each channel, so you can remotely shape the overall amplitude and manually change the phase response.

By adding Oradea's expander Arad, you gain three additional features. Arad features direct audio inputs for individual channels, so you can use each channel for a different audio source (the individual channel outputs are already incorporated into the main module). There are buttons and gate inputs for manual and/or remote clickless muting and unmuting of the channels. Another group of four buttons acts in parallel to the TRIG inputs of Oradea, allowing for manual triggering.

Oradea main features:
- width 20HP
- depth 40mm (including cable bracket)
- +210mA/-190mA
- Four independently adjustable bands
- Manual and voltage control over tuning frequency, resonance, and level
- Joint and individual CV inputs with calibrated V/oct tracking
- Dedicated trigger inputs for exciting individual channels
- Individual outputs and mixed output
- Signal polarity switchable for each channel
- Signal level indicators with multi-color LEDs

PRICE: 520 EUR MSRP, available next month!

Arad features:
- width 6HP
- depth 30mm (including cable bracket)
- +10mA/-0mA
- clickless muting and unmuting buttons and gate/trigger inputs
- manual trigger buttons
- individual audio input for each channel

PRICE: 120 EUR MSRP, available next month!

1010music Bento: Demo run-through

video upload by Dan Pearson

"This is a run-through of the demo track I put together for the 1010music Bento promo video.
It's a standalone music production system with One-shot & Loop banks, Multi-sample, Slicer and Granular instruments.
It also features a massive touch screen, 16 velocity sensive performance pads, comprehensive onboard effects and bluebox style mixing."

"1010 Music's Bento is a streamlined, standalone sampling powerhouse designed for sketching beats in a café, performing a set from your lap, or orchestrating a full synth rig in your studio. Bento's elegant 7" touchscreen and sixteen pressure and velocity-sensitive pads invite tactile experimentation, while its eight endlessly reconfigurable tracks adapt to your needs: from sliced loops and sample banks to granular textures, multisamples, and even external MIDI control. Each pad has per-voice control for level, pitch, pan, modulation, and FX sends, making detailed shaping a breeze without breaking flow. It's not just that you can do everything inside Bento—it's that you'll want to.

Scene-based sequencing sits at the heart of Bento's composition engine, offering multiple modes for evolving patterns, real-time clip launching, and probability-driven generative textures. Whether you're building a layered performance or locking in precise micro-edits, Bento's sequencing feels responsive, smart, and inspiring. Modulation options run deep—LFOs, envelopes, and step sequencers are all onboard and assignable. Per-track routing lets you use reverb, delay, overdrive, phaser, and more with creative intention, whether you're sweetening a vocal chop or melting your entire mix.

On the connectivity side, Bento is exceptionally generous. Three stereo inputs and outputs, USB host/device support, dual MIDI I/O (TRS A & B), and a stereo headphone output make this a capable centerpiece in any setup. It samples effortlessly, resamples creatively, and even streams long WAV files directly from a microSD card. Tethered or untethered, Bento's equally at home thanks to its internal battery and road-ready build. For anyone tired of the laptop grind or just seeking a more focused music-making environment, Bento from 1010 Music is a compact revelation.

Introducing the AS Vocoder: True Analogue Vocoding from Analogue Solutions

video upload by Analogue Solutions

"The AS Vocoder is available as a standalone unit, or as an upgrade to your Colossus synthesizer.

The sounds heard in this video were made with the Colossus synthesizer and the AS Vocoder. Let this video serve as our official announcement. More demos to come!

What is the AS Vocoder?

Analogue Solutions proudly introduces the AS Vocoder, a powerful, full-analogue vocoder that blends authentic vintage inspiration with modern reliability. Designed and built with precision, the AS Vocoder brings the distinctive warmth and character of classic analogue vocoding into contemporary studio environments.

This vocoder is not a digital emulation—it’s the real deal, offering 100% analogue audio paths and modulation circuits. While the AS Vocoder draws design inspiration from vintage classics of the 1970s, such as iconic vocoder units used in groundbreaking electronic music, all circuits within the AS Vocoder are original Analogue Solutions designs.

The AS Vocoder analyses the spectral content of speech or any audio signal and uses it to modulate internal oscillators or external sound sources. It provides musicians, producers, and sound designers with the legendary vocoder effect, capable of generating harmonically rich, robotic, or melodic vocal textures.

There are no gimmicks, just pure, unadulterated analogue vocoding crafted in a rugged enclosure designed for studio integration and live performance reliability. With a premium build quality that includes a solid metal case and precision-engineered components, the AS Vocoder ensures durability and consistency for years to come.

The AS Vocoder will be available as a Colossus upgrade and as a standalone unit.

A Brief Word on Vocoders

The vocoder has long been a cornerstone of electronic music, offering a unique way to merge voice and machine. First brought into the musical spotlight by Kraftwerk in the 1970s, its robotic vocal textures became part of the sonic DNA of their work. Artists like Herbie Hancock and Daft Punk later embraced vocoders as creative tools to shape melodies and rhythms, not just voices—expanding their role in music production far beyond novelty.

With 12 bands of filtering, flexible routing, and envelope follower outputs, vocoders like the AS Vocoder allow you to impose the spectral content of one signal—often the human voice—onto another, such as a harmonically rich synth tone. This creates the classic “talking synth” effect, but also opens the door to more experimental textures when fed drums, noise, or sequenced tones. The AS Vocoder makes this process hands-on, with CV options and modular access points designed for deep integration and patch experimentation.

The AS Vocoder brings this classic effect into the Analogue Solutions ecosystem with true analogue character and modern usability. Designed as a standalone unit or to integrate directly into the Colossus console, it adds a new dimension to sound design—perfectly complementing Colossus’s vast modulation and audio-routing capabilities. Whether for vocals, drums, or synth lines, the AS Vocoder opens up a new layer of sonic potential."
