"The original 1989 Drum Machine has been beautifully Circuit Bent, Modded, Up-Graded with an integrated Analog Step-Sequencer & an additional CUSTOM ROM dedicated to the mighty AMEN BREAK....

The custom ROM contains a basic Amen Kit, chopped up loop fragments, Phat Analog beats, Analog Synth Effects & some TB-303 Acid Samples.

An arsenal of new knobs, switches & metal bolts allow these sounds can be Twisted, Disrupted & Manipulated with devious effect and with a high degree of hands-on live control.

This machine ALSO contains the ALESIS 'ELECTRONIC ROM' from the black version HR-16, with a switch to swap between the Alesis ROM and the custom AMEN BREAK ROM.
O.S. has been upgraded to the latest version too.

Buttons are all clean & responsive, LED lights have been replaced with modern LEDs in Purple, Blue & Green."

"Here's Stephi playing with the a super-fun modified HR-16. There's a master pitch control knob (sample rate for drum samples). There's also an awesome looking and inspiring new patch grid system. These patches connect various bends including pitch modulation, sample rate modifiers and delay-like effects. The little patchers have different color LED's that light up differently depending where you patch it and what else is patched."

Here's is a demo song that I did using just Yamaha TX81z. All synth sounds on this song are made using TX81z's preset sounds.

Drums sounds are from Alesis HR-16 samples. I know that the original used Linndrum but the HR-16 matched better with the TX81z sound :)

This is not ment to be as a overly produced and to the teeth matching deconstruction, more as an TX81z sound demo."

"This HR-16 features custom paint job and some great additional features. The drum machine itself has been fully refurbished and cleaned, the paint job is a piece by James Gramling with reverse black and white buttons with custom Letracet and abstract work on panel assemble all clear-coated for durability. The internal LEDs have been changed to blue and the spots were the original volume and data faders were located are backlight with ultra-violet LEDs. The volume and data controls have been relocated to the top panel assembly. Additional modifications include Master pitch control which ranges from above to WAY below original pitch for some truely unique sounds. We have also added a 12 position rotary switch which activates a variety of circuit-bent effects depending on position and pitch level. This is a one-of-a-kind modification and painting, functional art at its best."

"My first sequencer, the Alesis MMT-8. I can still remember it, the excitement of being able to sequence everything I wanted. Since it was pattern based it was easy to loop parts in a live situation and I often played weddings and receptions to earn a buck and it was so great to have all my favorite sequences to play over.
When I paired this up with the HR-16 it became my "deadly combo" in terms of "getting the job done" in a fast and efficient way. The two fit perfectly inside a custom made case.

BTW. The machines spinning around is not 3D animations. It is the actual machines hung by wires in front of a green screen, spun by hand (me) and keyed out if After Effects. Took way longer than it was worth.. or was it worth it? ;-)"

"This is a heavily modified version of the Alesis HR-16 drum machine from the late 80s/90s. I have developed my own custom PCB board to house all the modifications I carry out and to keep the design clean and robust.

I will also consider swaps/trades for gear that interests me, dead or alive.. ask me... :)

Most notable features added are:
Ability to quickly replace sound bank chips using the quick release sockets mounted to the top of the unit (compatible with any of the soundbanks I have in my other listings)
Full LTC1799 Pitch Modification, allowing you to change the overall pitch of the whole machine (can go SUUUUUPER slow (a snare can last around 7seconds) ) and also around 20% higher in pitch. It's also worth noting that all sounds can individually pitched/tuned also as standard. It makes for great turntable style slow downs etc.

Updatable STEREO DSP FX System, including Low and High Pass filters, Bitcrush, reverb, delays etc. Used in conjunction with the multiple outputs makes the machine super powerful. Endless fun or just use it to make the sounds a little dirtier..

Gorgeous solid walnut side panels really set the look of the machine off.

"Welcome to our new channel. We're going to feature all sorts of content on here, but the main theme is based around one take, raw format music "jam sessions" (ugh...) and basically whatever else we feel like uploading. Any sort of errors or fuckups or whatever will generally just be left it and be a part of the video. We want this to be a look into what sorta shit we do in the studio, as opposed to us performing for the camera. For this video we used a TR-707, Alesis HR16, Alpha Juno, x0xb0x, midiverb, and mpc 2000 for sequencing the Juno.
