Superbooth 2018 - Behringer Clones Pro-One, 808, ARP Odyssey & More

Published on May 7, 2018 Synthtopia

"At Superbooth 2018, Behringer was displaying a wide range of engineering prototypes of clones of classic electronic music gear.

We talked with Rob Belcham, Senior Principal Systems Engineer at Music Group, and got a quick overview of what Behringer had on display.

Many of the synths displayed are being developed by a team in China and are prototypes, so the UK-based engineers that we talked to were seeing them for the first time at Superbooth.

Belcham, however, is supervising the development of the RD-808, a clone of the classic Roland TR-808 drum machine, so he was able to give us a lot more insight into its design and development."

Superbooth 2018 - Behringer Pro-One Synthesizer

Published on May 7, 2018 Synthtopia

"At Superbooth 2018, Behringer was displaying a wide range of engineering prototypes of clones of classic electronic music gear.

We talked with Erik Steckmann - Music Tribe Engineer, Product Management - and he gave us an overview of the Behringer Pro-One, and some insight into its development.

Note: Steckmann said that the Pro-One, along with most of the other new gear on display, was an engineering prototype and that the device's sound, functionality, etc. could change.

An official introduction - with specs, release date, etc - is expected to come later this year."

Korg Arp Odyssey - 70 Massive Patches Pack!!!

Published on Mar 6, 2019 chronosproject

"LFO Store team proudly presents:

70 Massive & versatile patches for Korg Arp Odyssey!

BUY: https://sellfy.com/p/dc9e/

Our soundset is also working with original Arp Odyssey Model (all revisions). One of the greatest paraphonic analog synthesizers of 70’s resurrected from ashes, thanks to Korg & Behringer – is now having second life!

Due to its original schematics & sound it was a competitor to a Moog Model D for a long time and still sounds incredible and modern.

LFO team members – Nick & Kirill created a professional booklet ready to print to explore all deepness of possibilities of Odyssey.

Sounds splitted into categories: powerfull analog basses, sync leads, musical plucks, s&h movements, auto-sequences, fx’s, pads & drones. Each sound has 1-2 modificators for tonal change and shaping overall sound.

We made a Professional Booklet - you can print it or use on your computer.
All sounds are categorized by types & very intuitive for creation.

Dedicaited to the original ARP Creator – Alan Perlman, who died on January 5th, 2019 at the age 93.

Enjoy new sounds, re-discover your Odyssey and have fun!"

RECREATING Let the music play by Shannon | Sequential Prophet 5 | Casio CZ1 | Behringer RD8

video upload by benanderson89

"On the original track, a Roland CR8000, TB-303, JX3P and MC202 were used. Unlike my previous recreation of Into the groove by Madonna, this one doesn't feel quite so accurate, and I blame all of that on the 'Celeste' and 'Xylophone'; I cannot figure out how they were done on the original. Even so, I'm still really happy with the results.

Instruments used:
Sequential Circuits #prophet5 : Filter sweeps, 7ths, Strings, Brass

#CasioCZ1 : 'Guitar' chords

#Behringer #deepmind12 : Bell, Celeste (sequences), Xylophone (sequenced)

Behringer #rd8 : Drums (programmed entirely using the internal pattern and song sequencer)

LinnDrum: Congas (sadly not using my real LinnDrum since it appears to be two different conga ROMs in the original song, or maybe they were using a sampler in the original?)

#Roland #tb03 and Behringer #arpodyssey : Bass. Sequenced entire on the TB-03 internal sequencer (IMO it's really not that hard to use a 303 sequencer), which was synced to via MIDI to the DAW, but also output said sequence to the Odyssey.

The effects are period correct, using tape-style delays, a simulation of the AMS RMX16 for reverb, some stereo CLA76s and tape simulators for that final touch."

Synthesizer Demo by Rik Marston
**Watch in HD!!** **TURN IT UP!!**

Behringer Neutron right out of the box, no patching.
I dig it but it's still needing a good testing & I am going
to do that tonight. Expect a few more NEUTRON videos!
In this video I tweak Bass, Modulation & use the Delay!
Nice work Behringer! Sounds like a mix of a Korg MS-20

Odessey vs Bodyssey

Published on Oct 6, 2019 No Nag Recordings

"Comparing The Original ARP Odyssey against the Behringer Odyssey.
The Bodyssey is a great copy of the old ARP with nice new features such as a sequencer/arpeggiator, Midi/CV, FX, 3 legacy filters VCA Drive and some more. It sounds fenomenal, even a bit beefier than the original. Keys feel ok, a bit sluggish. but better then the ARPs."

Arp Odyssey & Alesis Nanoverb

Published on Mar 23, 2019 Kris Lennox

"Korg's wonderful Arp reissue, here paired with the equally wonderful Alesis Nanoverb. Startling to think that is almost a decade since Keith Barr's passing. Quite a loss to the music world. Fantastic design/vision on his products.

I haven't heard the Behringer Odyssey, but I'm sure, like the Korg reissue, it'll be fantastic. Isn't it all great - very lucky times we live in, with the choices we have - and the access we have to hear instruments as/when. I'm sure many remember pre-internet days where hearing an instrument often meant travelling quite a distance to the nearest music store!

The included recording is an intentional Buddhist-like chant (obvious @ c. 2:02 with the pitch in the male register), with a distinct nod in the direction of throat-singing vocalist extraordinaire David Hykes (have a listen to his music if unfamiliar).

I remember the initial surprise when first playing on an Arp: surprise that the instrument had a strong association with a sharp, biting tone. It certainly can have this - but for me, it always felt like a very natural choice for producing a soft, evocative lead line.

The instrument itself is hugely versatile. Perhaps the association with harshness speaks more of assumption RE usage/following what has come before than it does with regards any limitation of the instrument itself.

Right. I need to go lie down. No sleep last night as I decided to do some minor cleaning duties in the house, and as is the way with these things, one job becomes ten. However, Scotland has a rare sunny day today, so maybe it should be a case of seeing this one through until sundown and making the most of it.

All best, and have a good weekend
Kris"
