Synth Cafè presenta: AC Noises RICORDA

video upload by Synth Cafè

Google translated (original in Italian below):

"RICORDA è il nuovo pedale AC Noises

Capitoli:
00:00 intro
00:39 looper
02:09 freeze
03:08 reverb e resonator
04:29 granulator
05:51 secondary mode
08:13 jam

Ekzil - "Ignition sequence" : Circuit Track / Volca keys / Volca bass

video upload by Geoffroy AULAGNER

"I decided to use my Volca Keys to the maximum of these capacities.
I find these possibilities very interesting.. I particularly love the unison mode, with portamento. It sounds really crazy 🤩 (check at 01:20)
It gives the possibility to transform a chords progression to a catchy melody 😃

As always, I try to make my compos sound professional with relatively inexpensive hardware.. I hope you find this video inspiring. Give me your feedback in the comments, It really motivates me to continue 🙏

Setup:
Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, organ, arpeggio
Volca Keys: Lead
Volca Bass: Bass
PO 33KO: voices
Korg NTS-1: reverb, chorus, build up with the noise oscillator"

Teenage Engineering EP-133 P.O.II First Jam

video upload by Perplex On

"Couldn’t resist to give the #ep133KOII a chance. This is my very first jam and i‘m sure i still have a lot to learn on this machine. Everything here comes from the machine with onboard samples. My first impression:
.
Plus: Very immediate, great haptics, love the design, great onboard samples
.
Minus: No punch-in fx recording (which was present on all orignal PO‘s), No individual step lengths (only length of total bars afaik, so no polyrhythmic adventures).
.
Oh and btw if you wonder why the fader looks weird: They added this piece of plastic around it in order to avoid transport damage but it is sooooo tight i couldn’t even get it off. 😕"

NAMM 2024 - Teenage Engineering - K.O. II - OB4

video upload by sonicstate

"In an exclusive interview at NAMM 2024, Will from Teenage Engineering provided an in-depth look at the company's latest offerings, notably highlighting the KO2 sampler, complete with their own arcade cabinets. The KO2 is positioned as the second generation of the popular PO-33 KO sampler, boasting significant expansions in functionality. The sampler features larger, Cherry MX switch-based pads, offering a satisfying and responsive feel. Designed on a Lego grid, the KO2 allows users to customize their units with additional Legos, extending to the sides and providing mounting holes for creating stands or interfaces.

The KO2 is geared towards on-the-go recording, equipped with a microphone and line-in capabilities for versatile sound capturing. With a robust build, the KO2 emphasizes sturdiness while maintaining a slim and lightweight profile with and provides step sequencing, delay, reverb, distortion, chorus, filter, and compressor effects and scene arrangement capabilities. Will also spoke of future developments within the EP series, hinting at more devices to come within the same platform.

The interview also touched upon Teenage Engineering's OB4 speaker, a portable powerhouse with impressive sound output of up to 100 dB at one metre, and a range of colors available, including the Stormtrooper-like black and white vesion we saw.

KO.II Price: 249 UKP. 299 USD

OB4 Price: Around 600 USD"

ONO-SENDAI prototype vs PO-32. Preorders ready

video upload by SPHERICAL SOUND SOCIETY

"ONO-SENDAI. Generative Groove box. [Preorder 15% discount]

Get it here:
https://www.etsy.com/es/listing/16498...

[This is a preorder offer with 15% discount over final price. Units will ship at 7-15 of feb 2024. Final look could be slighly different from the photo but quite, quite similar, changing the silkscreens and some details]

The Ono-Sendai is a synthesizer that takes the concept of the MicroFreak but utilizes the 54 modes from Braids instead of Plaits modes. This allows you to play it chromatically with a MIDI keyboard.

It transforms into a customizable drum machine that can be played in real-time using the Braids oscillators. Additionally, We have incorporated a sequencer, 2 LFOs and 2 Envelopes, significantly expanding the capabilities beyond what Braids could achieve, turning it into a complete drum machine/groove box and synthesizer all in one.

We have migrated the code from the original STM32 microcontroller to the more powerful RP2040, providing ample RAM and CPU resources to implement various features. Now, it includes an OLED screen and numerous extras. The firmware is in an 1.0 state and will keep offering free updates from the users.

ONO-SENDAI is portable synthesizer that is powered via USB C type cable and therefore can be powered via a Power Bank.

It comes comes in 3 flavors:

-As a fully assembled unit
-As a full kit that the user has to build
-As a prepolulated PCB + Programmed microcontroller for advanced builders.
The user has to source the rest of the components and build the synth.

There´s a user guide that explains every function, knob and button that you will download here. And there´s also will be a build guide for the builders here. Both are being written now"

Stretching the Limits of Samples On The KO-II

video upload by Ricky Tinez

"The Teenage Engineering EP-133 KO-II can Alias Samples! Sampling sounds high pitch and then stretching them back down extremely far to get them back to a normal or a low pitch creates aliasing within samples, which is this amazing texture that I was able to get from my older MPCs, and it's a technique that has been widely used for a very long time. So can we do it on the new Teenage Engineering EP – 133? YES! You could also do this on the PO-33 pocket operator! I also pair the new KO-ii with my Digitakt so I don't run into the voice stealing issues I had in this video" [posted here]

Ricky Tinez on the Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II : I WANTED to Play Live with this Thing, but nvm..

video upload by Ricky Tinez

"It can't even do things the PO-33 can do! I let myself down by getting wrapped in the hype, haha. Its an awesome device, and yes you can make full songs on it.. But it might be a challenge at times! Which can be a good thing. TL:DR, I wanted to get this to play live and perform on, but it's going to be a little trickier than I excpected."

Roland CR-5000 (1980 Drum Machine), T-8 and PO-20

video upload by NGC0 Music

"What's this setup? Don't even ask me...
I just wanted to record a video with the CR-5000, a vintage drum machine from the 80s I had for a while, before I sell it (It will be gone tomorrow).
I've used the Roland T-8 for bass (even though it's a drum machine primarily), and the Teenage Engineering PO-20 for all the other melodic parts."
