Moog Sound Studio: 50 Patches for DFAM, Mother-32, Subharmonicon. + Samples. Presets Demo. No talk

video upload by Anton Anru

"Welcome to the soundset for a semi-modular system Moog Sound Studio: DFAM + Mother-32 + Subharmonicon. It is a collection of 50 patches that include basses, drums/percussion, leads, plucks, textures, FXs. There is a wide range of sound colors inside the pack: massive and gentle, aggressive and soft, bright and dull, melodic and inharmonic tones, straight and polymetric patterns.

🔮 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/moog/

Highlights:
✅ high level of interconnection of the synths
✅ thoroughly set parameters
✅ detailed notes for patches full of tips and tricks
✅ audio examples in 4 versions: DFAM only, M-32 only, Subharmonicon only, all together
✅ to recreate these patches, you need up to 17 patch cables + splitter/multiplier («star») or a stackable cable.
✅ one of my hardest work ever, I spent up to 2,5 hours for each patch
✅ FREE BONUS: 200 samples with Scale and BPM (95-128 BPM), Wav 24/44100

The main point of the soundset is the high level of interconnection, not just syncing the synths with independent timbres (individual patches for DFAM, Mother-32, and Subharmonicon are also available on my website). In this patchbook, the timbres of the synths are soldered and can’t exist separately:
🔸 they modulate each other with LFO and Envelopes
🔸 a sequence from one synth may change parameters on others
🔸 triggers interaction, clock/rhythm, run/stop modulations break predictable patterns
🔸 audio signals from VCOs may be used as modulation sources to create harmonies/intervals or crazy experimental inharmonic tones
🔸 or they may be used just as audio sources that go to another synth to be processed with its (different) filter and envelope and get the «second life».
DFAM, M32, and SUBH play different and clear roles, it’s not a sound mess, but the synths working in close cooperation.

Raymond Scott techno w/Cyclebox + Sound of Shadows

YouTube Uploaded by s0LVentCIty on Apr 8, 2011

"Hi my name is Solvent and this is my 3rd Eurorack modular system video. Today I've made some Raymond Scott techno, with the help of my newly arrived Cylonix Cyclebox and Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows. I haven't really got a clue how to use the Cylonix yet, but I thought this sounded good, so I pressed record. Drums and everything else are being triggered/sequenced from the MFB Urzwerg."

Pre-order list for Frac Sound of Shadows delay module

via timm AKA Mood Organ on the AH list:

"Fellow Frackers:

Shawn Cleary at Analog Haven has graciously offered to start a pre-order list for Flight of Harmony's Sound of Shadows delay module. Flight says that if we can amass 30 pre-orders, he will do a run of them in Frac format. Flight's estimated price is VERY reasonable but I'll not include it here until I know he's OK with that.

I need not remind you that the Time Machine and Bugbrand delay are the only Frac delay modules and both are difficult to obtain. I haven't had the chance to play with the Bugbrand, but judging from demos the SoS is quite different from the Time Machine.

You can hear some demos here:

Read more about it here:
http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7448
http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8753

Email Shawn and let him know... and remember: why buy 1, when you can buy 2 for twice the price?"

Solvent modular crunch MFB Seq-02 + WMD Geiger Counter

YouTube Uploaded by s0LVentCIty on Jun 14, 2011

"Hello my name is Solvent, and I just made this crunchy IDM Hip Hop beat on my Eurorack modular.

Everything is being sequenced by the MFB Seq-02, which is being clocked from a trigger coming out of Logic/Silent Way/ES-3. I locked it to Logic so that it'll be easier to chop up into loops later, if I decide to develop this track further.

Outside of the modular, I've got the kick from my Jomox MBase-01, and the snare is from my modified Boss DR-55. The occasional analog delay is from my Boss DM-100. The white noise in the HH sound is coming from my MS-20 since I don't have a noise source module yet.

More than half of the modules in my case are being used here, so I'll just point out the ones that are contributing most prominently to the sound:
- the glitchy Autechre-ish part in the HH comes from the Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows digital delay module, with it's delay time being sequenced by the MFB
- VCO is Tip Top Audio Z3000
- VCO goes into the Bubblesound Sem20 VCF, before being destroyed by the WMD Geiger Counter Wave Table distortion / bit reduction module. The Sem20 actually plays a big part in the sound, as the WMD responds drastically to LP vs HP, and to Resonance amount.
- Geiger's wavetable is changing via a VC input, sequenced by the MFB.
- Post Geiger filter is an EMS Synthi VCF clone, DIY'd by a guy named Cameron from Chicago, which is similar to the STG's Sea Devil Filter module. Filter Cutoff is being modulated by the MFB.
- Synthwerks MG-1 module is being used to trigger the MFB's reset in, which I'm using to create manual fills, which remain perfectly in time on account of the MFB being clocked externally."

Six Plague Bearers and a Sound of Shadows

YouTube via FoHSonja | August 11, 2010

"Here's some more random noise.
I just got a Sound of Shadows for the kit and I wanted to try it out. I'd also been curious as to what it would sound like to link up 6 Plague Bearers. I also had a Hertz Donut patched into the mix.

Update: some highlights from synchro1: "- *THE* highlight was seeing someone tinkering with a prototype module for a demo and realizing it was Mike Brown [Livewire] and the expander modulefor the AFGs. Mike looks well and it was great to speak with him again.

- new digital polyphonic synth from Mungo [State Zero]. Very intriguing and lots of modular possibilities as almost everything has external CV capability. Great ergonometric design, sound (in noisy NAMM environment) reminded me a bit of my SunSyn. And it is quite expensive but there is an awful lot in there. Number of photos at the link below.

- Bob Amstadt is showing the new LP-2 MINI Looper [Looperlative]. Essentially a single channel mono looper with many of the abilities of the amazing LP-1.

- Monorocket cases look great.

- Make Noise X/Y sequencer and capacitance-sensitive keypads are very intriguing - ordered 2 of the keypad modules.

- Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows on display but did not have a chance to play with it yet."

micromac stacked

via Ken MacBeth on Facebook

"took this 'snap' this morning of the setting used on the microma prototypes for the 'three shadows' demo/vid that I did earlier in the week so that I can set it up again- This weekend- it's full on work getting the final works done for manufacture! Note the desktop version is now named 'micromac- D' and the rack version shall be 'micromac-R'"

"In case you missed it last time! Personally I like the sound of this demo- there's a feel of JMJ meets Kraftwerk meets Vangelis!...?!" below

three shadows Published on May 16, 2012 by macbethsynthesizers

"As we hit production of the micromac- her's one of the last videos from the prototype units- this video features the desktop version doing baqss lines and the 3U format version doing some strange glide stuff! It's been an interesting experiment- the keyboard controllers are 2 x Korg Prophecies doing the arpegiation thing at different timings! Apart from my own designs featured here- I'd highly recommend 2 x Prophecies as keyboard controllers! I guess all this sound coming from such small units....starts to erase the need for the massive modular...especially if you after this kind of sound! All played live....and yes, the video needs a touch of brightening slash contrast!"

Intellijel Metropolis Sequencer Based on RYK Roland System 100m M-185

Metropolis Scrutineering from DUDADIUS on Vimeo.

"First go around with the Intelljel Metropolis. This is a pretty basic setup; I didn't get into using the aux inputs to modulate things within the Metropolis. I'll try that next! As you can see though, the Metropolis really lends itself to performing and improvising. Very hands-on and easy to go all sorts of crazy ways, melodically. Similar to the Rene, in that regard, but from a totally different point-of-view.

Patch notes. Pamela is sending clock to Metropolis, Trigger Riot, Modcan Dual Delay, and Sound of Shadows.

Metropolis is sending the same note info to three different oscillators. The third one going through a uScale first to create intervals. All going into the Dubmix. The Trigger Riot is controlling Tiptop drums, mixed through a VCA Matrix then an M277 for a little grit. That's into channel 2 on the Dubmix, where I add a little Spring Reverb at one point.
The kik and snare are ultimately doubled with the Cwejman BLD and DPO. Lastly, I dialed into some sustained notes on the Pressure Points and a Modcan Triple OSC. The uStep is advancing the Pressure Points.

I had some troubles with the Trigger Riot losing sync when I would change presets. I'll have to delve into that some more."

Note the RYK M-185 was a DIY sequencer from RYK, not Roland. See the RYK channel below for more.

Regarding the Intelijel Metropolis, the following is some info via PatchPierre.Net, via Pierre on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge

"One of the most interesting modules i have seen in a while has been sent out to various testers in the last few weeks. The Intellijel Metropolis is a Eurorack sequencer, based on the RYK M-185 sequencer from the early Roland M-100 series. This module has always intrigued me, and i was always hoping someone would bring this style of sequencing/programming to the Eurorack. Intellijel worked out an agreement with Ryk earlier this year to create this only official Eurorack adaptation of his brilliant sequencer design...

Some of the features :
-Sequencer modes:
Forward, Forward-fixed, Reverse, Reverse-fixed, PingPong, PingPong-Fixed, Random, Random-fixed, Brownian, Brownian-fixed
-TB-303 style slide (constant time portamento) with adjustable time
-Stage skipping (double click slide buttons)
- Internal quantizing with selectable scales and keys
-Can act as a master clk with BPM control or slave to an external (using clk src function)
-Save/load panel settings
-shuffle
-Internal clock divider
-Sync output (sets output pulse on last clock step of a sequence, used to slave other sequencers via reset)
-Two assignable AUX inputs which can control: gate length, transpose, key shift, root shift, sequence length, and step divisor.
-config menu to set slider pitch range, clock div type, clock offset
-tap tempo when in internal clock mode and tempo lock with bpm detect in external mode.

-All menu actions are one level deep. i.e. press the menu button and spin the encoder.
There are no hidden levels or sub menus."

"Tip Top Cafe 2" - Z8000 + 4ms RCD + FOH Shadows

Published on Jun 12, 2014 Strange UFO Music·46 videos

A 2nd variation of the original main theme. Totally different in form and time structures, derived from the same melodic notes in first version. This time making use of the 4ms Rotating Clock Divider, and delay effects from the Flight of Harmony's "the Sound of Shadows" module, and again made use of the Make Noise Maths v2, Analogue Solutions VCO Sub, and Doepfer A124 Wasp VCF.

Pictures showing modular under construction. Rearranging to make spaces for the remaining modules (arriving soon) to fill in the rest of this 2 row space. Followed by some more artistic images of the Tip Top Z8000 Matrix Sequencer / Programmer.

Hope you enjoy, Thanks for listening!

T-t-talk to me - An Echophon, Planar and Ribbonz demo

Published on Feb 8, 2014 HardScienceAV

"I just got the Make Noise Echophon and decided to give it a go. This is the result of my first patch. Thought I'd make a video of my experience :)

Here's a basic breakdown: The Flame Talking Synth is going into the Echophon input. I took the aux out of the Echophon into the FoH Sound of Shadows and fed both Echophon and SOS outputs into the Fontronik MH01. There's a lot of modulation going on. The Talking Synth has all of its parameters controlled by the Monde Ribbonz (the ribbon controller at the bottom that you've never seen before) and the Echophon has most of it's parameters controlled by the Intellijel Planar joystick and the ZBK (the big knob in the middle!).

The video was then processed with the LZX Industries video synth.

"I wrote it around '84 or '85 as a demo for my music editor called
'Synth'. I was going to University of Waterloo at the time and just
gave it to a friend of mine... didn't even bother to put my name on
the thing. Anyway it soon started cropping up all over the place.
I never made any sequels with music, although there was something with
annoying sound effects done in the same style as Synth Sample that I
posted in the beginning of 1994. So any music you see that looks like
a sequel or has graphics added was done by someone else.
Anyway the computer bust of 85/86(?) hit and Synth was never marketed.
I had been negotiating with a software company but they went out of
business. By that time I was working on a new version of Synth that
was a sequencer program for Midi instruments (called MSS), and had
joined my first band. I've been in a couple other bands since then,
the last one was called SugarPush and we came close to getting signed
(but then broke up [...]). So I guess you can credit that little
program with launching my musical career..." (GF)

Gamma Jam

YouTube Uploaded by bigcitymusic on Aug 13, 2011

"Here's a little Kraftwerk-like jam showcasing the WMD Gamma Wave Source wavetable oscillator module.

Our TR-909 Rim Out is clocking the Kilpatrick K4815 Pattern Generator and one side of a Livewire Dual Bissell Generator as a simple Attack/Decay envelope generator.

The pitch CV of the K4815 is running to the other side of the Dual-Bissel, using it to generate portamento. This is much more fun than your typical portamento as you have control of up and down glide rates.

The new Critter and Guitari Pocket Piano GR is being played using its new mono glide mode, which sounds really nice!

For filters on the Gamma we're using a Division 6 Filtaire, modulated by the Livewire Vulcan's sinewave, and a Metasonix R-54. We're also using a Metasonix r-51 as our VCA and the Flight Of Harmony 'Sound of Shadows' karaoke delay."

"Construct 11" - (Phonogene + TR808 drums)

Published on Jun 17, 2014 Strange UFO Music·48 videos

"I have completed assembling my 6U size (2 rows of 84hp) eurorack modular setup. There's room for future expansion, but there's plenty that can be done with this smaller modular set up.

For the recording, I extracted drum parts from my previous video called "Enigma 19", in which that track was in 19/16 time. This track turned into something new, beginning in 11/8, with using the Phonogene Only modules used in making of this track were the Make Noise Phonogene, Doepfer A124 & A130, and Flight of Harmony "Sound of Shadows". In addition, recorded in 3 tracks stereo, mixed and multitracked.

btw: For the 808 officinados out there. The tr808 drum sounds were actually recorded from the Roland SC-55 Sound Canvas. The SC-55 does have a pleasing 808 kit, and you can pick up those modules for very low cost."
