"This Polish-made synthesizer/organ is quite a rare one, especailly in the UK. I cast my beady eye over the functions and features of this rare synth and offer a cash prize for those eagle-eared enough to identify the song I am attempting to perform."

L.C.F. Industries Arp-8 Published on Apr 16, 2014 Ethermask·2 videos
via L.C.F. Indusries - Three modules: ARP-8 arpeggiator, MIDI to CV, & 16-SEQ sequencer.
This is the first L.C.F Industries post.
"Something was missing from my growing modular. I couldn't figure out what it was. Then after playing with a Polysix for a while it hit me; An arpeggiator!
So using the MIDI-CV Converter I made, I started playing around with the code a bit. And then a couple of hours later I came up with a pretty decent arpeggiator. It didn't have much control (only the two switches) but it worked! So the next step was to expand on it but still keep it as small as possible.
Octave knob: Selects between a 1-4 octave range
Rate knob: If synced with a MIDI clock, it will divide the tempo accordingly;
1-1
1-2
1-4
1-8
1-8T
1-16
1-16T
1-32
V/Octave Out
Hz/Volt Out
Gate Out
Clk In: Bypasses MIDI-clock messages and uses an external clock source.
Directional switch: Up, Down, Up/Down
Sync Switch: If no external clock source is available (MIDI or analog), flipping to the FREE position will prompt it to use it's own internal clock. Use the Rate knob to increase the speed.
Arp / Mono Switch: Turns the arpeggiator into a simple single-channel MIDI-CV converter."
MIDI to CV Converter
"I've seen a couple of DIY MIDI-to-CV converters but I wanted to make a more simplified one for my rack. At first it seemed like a daunting task but it was really quite easy.
MIDI channels 1 and 2: CV, Gate, Mod Wheel, and Aftertouch
Mono/Poly switch: Changes the second channel to a second output for channel 1.
Retrig/Legato switch
Clock Out: Right now it runs at 16th-note divisions from the MIDI clock and only outputs when it receives a Song Start message from the DAW. I might change this later but it works for me now.
Reset Output: Sends a pulse everytime a Song Position Pointer message is received. Works great with the sequencer I made.
Pitchbend: CV outs; -/+2 semitones"
16-Step Sequencer
"Features
Three position switch for each step: On/Off/Tie
Range Switch: 2-5 octave
Step knob: Dial in steps between 2-16
*Various step-directions: Fwd / Bck / Ping-Pong1 / Ping-Pong2 / Random

When the Direction selector is set to one of the first four directions the sequence is linear, meaning it will advance +/-1step (1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Or 16,15,14,13, etc). The next four directions from the Direction selector will be the same as the first four, as far as a direction goes, but it is no longer linear. It will jump steps but still follow the same path (1, 9, 2, 10, 3, 11, etc. Or 16, 8, 15, 7, 14, 6, etc).
The Direction selector has the following choices
Directions 1-4: Linear
Fwd
Bck
Ping-Pong 1
Ping-Pong 2

Rob Papen Concept Hardware Controller
via Rob Papen on Facebook
"Hi guys,
Below is the 'concept idea' for RP-Control. Note that this product is not available!
The idea is to make a usb controller for our synth products (BLUE-II, Predator, SubBoomBass, Blade).
The layout is very clear, compared to other general controllers.
Producing such a controller is not so easy. You have to find a manufacturer and so on.
So I thought... lets make an image of it and check what some do say about this idea of a 'RP-Control'"

Data Garden Achieves MIDI Sprout Kickstarter Goal
"Data Garden are pleased to announce that they have reached their Kickstarter goal for the MIDI Sprout, a device that allows people to listen to music from the natural biorhythms of their houseplants through synthesizers, computer and iOS devices. The crowdfunding campaign is live through Sunday April 20th and, for now, is the only opportunity to order a MIDI Sprout.
The campaign which gathered coverage from music and pop culture websites achieved it’s targeted $25,000 on Sunday, 4/13. While this success guarantees that the MIDI Sprout will go into limited production this summer, the campaign is still active for the rest of the week, coming to a close on Sunday, April 20th.
"Data Garden is not a hardware company. We are a group of artists committed to creating opportunities for the public to experience their environment in new ways," says Data Garden Director, Joe Patitucci. "We would like to produce more MIDI Sprouts down the line but the goal right now is to get this technology out there so our friends and fans can experiment. This may be the last opportunity for people to order a MIDI Sprout, so it’s important that they act now and get one while they can."
Many cite the introduction of the MIDI Sprout as the beginning of the DIY Biofeedback movement. The week between achieving the financial goal and the formal close of the Kickstarter campaign allows those interested in the movement to fund the MIDI Sprout beyond this limited run."

CMS has 3 main divisions: CMS Discrete Synthesizers, CMS Technical Services & Upgrades, & The Novachord Restoration Project.
Phil Cirocco is likely the worlds leading ARP tech. I'd say leading expert as well, although I don't know if that would be him or David Friend working on the new KORG ARP Odyssey clone, and of course Alan R Pearlman is still around. Philip Dodds however has passed on.

Mutable Instruments Yarns (initial test)
Published on Apr 16, 2014 bigcitymusic·325 videos
"The first section of the video demonstrates Yarns (duophonic, 2x monophonic) '2M' mode. Two MIDI to 1V/OCT Pitch CV's are independently tracking 2 D-LFO channels. The Yarns 2x gate messages are patched to the Cwejman CTG-VC's. The MIDI Clock message is used to Clock sync the Cwejman RG-6 which is lightly modulating the Attack and Decay times of a Cwejman CTG-VC, which is enveloping the two D-LFO oscillators in the 4MS VCA Matrix. Both oscillators are run through the Cwejman SPH-2 Spatial Phaser. We manually experimented with switching D-LFO waveforms while the MIDI sequence was running through Yarns.
The second section of the video demonstrates Yarns (monophonic) '1M' mode. A MIDI to 1V/OCT Pitch CV is sequencing the Cwejman D-LFO oscillator 1. The second oscillator of the D-LFO is synced to the first. Both oscillators are run through the 4MS VCA Matrix. The Yarns gate CV is triggering the Mutable Instruments Tides, of which the bipolar output is multed out via stackable and enveloping both channnels of Cwejman D-LFO in the 4MS VCA Matrix. The Yarns Velocity CV is modulating the level of the Tides envelope. By programming dynamic velocity into the MIDI sequence, the Yarns Velocity CV highlights the expressive and rhythmic potential of the Tides envelope. The MIDI Clock message from the Yarns is sent to the 4MS Quad Pingable LFO which is modulating the RATE CV of the second channel of the Cwejman D-LFO (sync ratio modulation)."

Virtual ANS Based PhonoPaper: Play Music from Paper - How to Print your Voice and Play It Back
Published on Apr 16, 2014 Alexander Zolotov·123 videos
http://warmplace.ru/soft/phonopaper
The software is currently available for Android. Note this is based on Virtual ANS which is also available for iOS. See the details below.
PhonoPaper: How to Print your Voice and Play It Back
"What is PhonoPaper
PhonoPaper is:
format of graphical representation of the sound (music, human voice, etc.); in other words, it is the 2D audio barcode (by analogy with the QR-code);
real-time PhonoPaper-code reader (using the camera);
PhonoPaper-code generator (sound to image converter).
Key features:
PhonoPaper-code is analogue, so it is not so sensitive to different types of the image distortion (bad camera, dark picture, wrinkled paper, etc.); at least you will hear the "silhouette" of the original sound;
PhonoPaper does not require access to the network; its code is self-contained;
PhonoPaper-code can be played in real-time with hand-controlled speed and direction;
PhonoPaper-code can be drawn by hand (paper version of the Virtual ANS synth);
PhonoPaper is free!
Examples of usage:
voice messages (or pieces of music) on the billboards, posters, postcards, goods;
audio labels for phonorecords;
audio examples in some textbooks;
art-experiments;
learning the basics of the spectral music.
PhonoPaper is based on the Virtual ANS engine - it is a software simulator of the unique Russian synthesizer ANS.
So if you want to make more complex PhonoPaper-codes - use the Virtual ANS."

Simple EQ on each track to separate frequency, some fade in/out and Delay, Reverb has been added on each track. Solo played on tiny MicroBrute keyboard and I'm not the best keyboard player, so forgive me for mistakes... ;)
Enjoy
PS. I think I have heard too much of Klaus Schulze music in my life. ;)"
