"I see the Roland CR-8000 as the granddaddy of the 808 (they share the same sound engine) and a beautiful machine to work with.

This track was recorded onto Ableton Live and processed a little bit.
Other instruments on this are a Nord Stage 2 + Roland Juno 6.
The CR8000 also got a tiny lift from a UBK FATSO."

Today, Moog Music announced the official discontinuation of the Minimoog Voyager Rack Mount Edition (Voyager RME) analog synthesizer – a tabletop, rack-mountable version of Moog's flagship analog mono synth, the Minimoog Voyager. The Minimoog Voyager was Bob Moog's modern day re-imagining of the Minimoog Model D, the most iconic analog synthesizer of all time.

Since its introduction in 2005, the Minimoog Voyager RME has found its place on thousands of records and stages around the world. On the Alive Tour, Daft Punk's monolithic pyramid was powered by 4 Voyager RMEs, while electronic musicians like Orbital, Deadmau5, Tycho and R&B producer Brian Michael Cox all rely on the sonic abilities of the Voyager RME to deliver new sounds for their studio productions.

'Ten years ago, Bob and I struggled over whether or not to release the Minimoog Voyager RME. Thankfully we did, because so many wonderful works of art have been produced with it,' said Moog Music President Mike Adams. 'It's always difficult for us to end the life of a product, especially one that Bob designed himself, but I am happy to know that the artists fortunate enough to own one of these expressive tools will enjoy a lifetime of rich musical experiences,' said Adams.

To celebrate the legacy of this powerful analog instrument, ambient electronic music pioneer, Robert Rich has composed a 3 song EP of evolving soundscapes titled 'Hiding In Daylight'. Rich's work is a meditative exploration of organic analog sound, drawing on the rich tonal palette of the Minimoog Voyager RME.

In this video I'm using Percussa's wireless AudioCubes change the cable patching of the U-HE ACE virtual analog synthesizer on-the-fly with no mouse. The U-HE ACE synthesizer allows you to use MIDI CCs to map the source for any cable. Percussa MIDIBridge 3 for Wireless AudioCubes has a new "Topology" mode that allows you to send MIDI note trigger information as well as distance data (MIDI CCs) at the same time for up to 16 cubes simultaneously! This video shows some of my early tests and ideas for leveraging these features by pairing AudioCubes with ACE. Of course these are baby steps for what is possible and these same techniques could be applied to other instruments - and even hardware instruments via MIDI or MIDI-to-CV.

Recently overhauled, cleaned, 200+ circuit board solder points touched up. This is as close to immaculate as a properly cared for keyboard of this age can be. I have played it for several years and built the wood chassis myself. Everything works great, including CV+ Gate ins/outs. The power supply is not original. No chip/scratches on the keys. Lissajous is a complex audio/video signal generator built in Max/MSP and inspired by the work of Jules Antoine Lissajous.

The software shows sound oscillations as XY matrix functions and creates complex graphics curves. Lissajous graphically describes sound and allow observation of constantly varying signal voltage of two audio signals as function of time. Video generated by sound can be controlled in endless ways by giving to the user the possibility of a whole-new range of interactions.
