AniModule TikTok and XXX_OR use Gate as CV to create Complex Rhythmic Melody

Published on Apr 3, 2016 JRock17991

"Check out descriptions and purchase AniModule Here: http://www.animodule.com/
Here's a patch That uses Gates from the TikTok, mixed and XOR'ed, as CV for a quirky and complex little sequence.
Different Multiplications and Divisions are XOR'ed in the XXX_OR then mixed in a Mixer to drive different frequencies in a Lil' Monster VCo via the 2 FM inputs and the 1V/Oct."

By The Edge Of A Pool

"1977 at EMSA in Florence, MA using the large EMS Vocoder sold to Stevie Wonder, some words I wrote (February 24, 1975), three MiniMoogs, a Beyer microphone, 2 Revox half-track machines, and a toilet.

By the edge of a pool,
Deep in a woods
I watch myself watching
Eyes that see back.

A nose framed by skin
Wrapped round bones
That shatter a cleavage
Shaped by waves

I touch my own fingers
Wet, warm, and dry
They pass through each other
And then return

I follow my thinking
Always behind,
Thoughts follow all circles
Folding under

Fling prayers for my soul
Upward beyond
I long for the reward
that will be mine

A pike bursts the liquid
Smooth, sleek, and cold,
swallows a water bug
Then sinks below."

Update: the story behind the track:

"By The Edge of a Pool recorded by me in 1977 at EMSA in Florence, MA using the large EMS Vocoder 5000 sold to Stevie Wonder. Words were written on 2/24/1975 shortly before I graduated NYU. Sound source was 3 tracks of MiniMoog and some running water. Prof. Everett Hafner, who owned EMSA, had no idea who Stevie was but insisted he speak with him on the phone prior to ordering from London & personally delivering to LA. During the call Everett kept calling him "Mr. Wonder" and finally asked which of the two available colour schemes he preferred: off-white or chocolate-brown. Dennis and I could hear Stevie erupt in laughter over the phone and loudly proclaim, "chocolate-brown, Man; chocolate-brown!". I can't recall anyone else ever calling Everett 'man'."

Experimentation 11 (Korg Minilogue, Volca Series)

"Death of the space perpetrator
You have been chasing the same man for two weeks in the outer star clusters of the large Magellanic Cloud in deep space. Fortunately, you don't mind so much because your kids and wife at home are all brats. You send money home and they send fake love back over data transmissions. Each man you catch is worth 432,000su( spice units, the universal space monetary system). Enough to go wild every weekend and forget about everything and still send enough back home. But, being a bounty hunter is still far better than those moon mining settlements.
Just some random Minilogue/Volca action. We wanted to use sync ports over midi this time just to change it up a bit(why not?). All the talk of the new Volca FM's on the forums is growing the gear lust. We might not find one for some time though as we missed early pre-orders. Enjoy the random gritty sci-fi story(dark comedy), and the coming week everyone!

Published on Mar 6, 2012

"The first try whether my POLYEVOLVER (PEK/Polyevolverkeyboard) is able to emulate the famous PPG Sounds.
I made a bunch of Sounds in the PPG-Style to show the fantastic capabilities of the PEK!
The PPG-Synths, These great temples of machines, were created and bulilt of the german Wolfgang Palm about the 1980´s.
Nowadays i tried to emulate exactly this digital rough sounding wavetablesynthesizer.
Based on the PEK digital Prophet-VS wave storage and its modulationpowered signalpath the results what you hear in the movie lay in my opinion very near to the original sounding PPG.
Therefore i programmed mainly 'digital sound clouds'.
The sounds you hear were recorded only from the main out without any FX other equipments.
And sorry you´ll hear the opening part twice ;) i forgot to erease one of them ;)
well, enjoy the sounds!"

Wintergatan's Marble Machine - performed on Teenage Engineering OP-1

I'm using the LEGO accessory to get better control over one of the parameters."

The Long Way Around

Published on May 16, 2015

"A quick composition on my Eurorack modular synth.
Audio is 100% raw output from the synth.

I tried keeping the patch simpler than I typically would. It's divided in to a number of parts instead of my usual pattern of creating one giant overly-complex part.

Largely inspired by some videos, sounds, and methods of Alessandro Cortini and Surachai."

The Make Noise Richter Wogglebug is providing influence to Braids (which is being sequenced by the Korg SQ-1) and Warps (which is being used to mix and crossfade/wavefold the drum channels of Peaks.) There is one other piece of this Rhythmic/Clock puzzle that should be arriving in a couple of days which will make this whole thing much more interesting!"

ESQ8 midi controller for Ensoniq ESQ 1 and SQ80

Published on Apr 3, 2016 stereoping

"This video shows 3 examples of sound tweaking on an Ensoniq SQ80 with a Stereoping Synth Controller using the 'ESQ8' edition. The ESQs/SQ80 unfortunately do not reflect realtime parameter changes on held notes, the sound changes not before the next pressed note. This is demonstrated to the beginning of the video. The ESQ1/SQ80 is not that hard to program with it's dedicated pages buttons and parameter select knobs above and below the display. Nevertheless the controller is helpful, much quicker and quite funny. Like most editions, this one also supports translation of the simple Midi controller changes (CC) into the NRPN-commands the ESQ/SQ80 wants to see. The last example in the video CC-remotes the SQ80's waveform parameter makeing kind of Wavestation out of it. The controller is not yet tested with the ESQ M / ESQ 1 - but it should work."
