"A little hymn to 50 years of existence.

Deluge is for control only here, no sounds. Opening chord is JP-08 going into Magneto and then into Clouds then out to Strymon Flint Reverb.

Digitone is going into H9.

Rings fed plucked notes from Dixie II, using Double Andore as VCA. Rings then goes into DLD.

Later, waterfall sounds (field recording from Fern Canyon, CA) from Morphagene into Cinnamon filter.

The track was arranged on Deluge, I'm mainly manipulating Magneto and Morphagene speed/Cinnamon cuttoff levels, Clouds levels, and H9 settings."

If you've been thinking about picking one up and/or want to see it happen, now is the time. Relaxing with Monark bass sounds before Christmas 🎧

"Jumping around between NI Monark's bass presets playing them with an arpeggiator and tweaking them. Everything is running Ableton Live 9 Suite and I use the MIDI LFO Max for Live plugin to add some more movement to the sound. I really like the sound of this Native Instruments Reaktor plugin."

Patricia Wolf Sound Pack for the Novation Peak v1.2

"This is a demonstration of the sound design work I did for the Novation Peak. I created 50 patches demonstrating some of the new features that the v1.2 firmware update has to offer. My sound pack is available for free with the update through Novation's Components App. Select the Novation tab on that app to access them as well as GForce Software's free patches.

The patches are performed with a mixture of Octatrack sequencing (using sequences from songs I have written) and live performance with a MIDI controller. I was inspired by artists like Delia Derbyshire and wanted to record little vignettes and sonatas using the Peak without other sound sources.

I made this recording so that friends can hear the sounds I made and so that other Peak users can get a closer glimpse into how I envision sound design. Please get in touch if you have any questions about my process or anything else related to this project and I will respond as best I can.

The Novation Peak was recorded directly into a Steinberg UR44 interface. No external effects. Subtle mastering from Tokyo Dawn Labs software to balance recordings of different patches.

And here is a little bit of information about me:

Patricia Wolf is an electronic musician, sound designer, and gallery curator based in Portland, Oregon. After years of working in the synth pop duo Soft Metals, Wolf became interested in exploring non-linear songwriting and new forms of synthesis. Alongside working with Novation, Wolf co-founded the gallery Variform which focuses on sound design and modern composition. Patricia Wolf is a recipient of the Precipice Fund, a grant funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, to explore synthesis in the contemporary art world."

"This is the Holy Grail! This particular 303 is in very good condition for its age and construction. Everything works. The filter on this particular unit is excellent I've heard some wimpy ones and some buzzy ones but this sits right in between! No mods no touring the writing isn't all rubbed off like the other 303s you see. This is an excellent example and doesn't show signs of failure at all."

"Roland MC-202 MicroComposer with original box, manuals, and Roland case up for grabs. Introduced in 1983, this was Roland's next generation battery operated hybrid MC-4 MicroComposer coupled with a SH-101 analog synthesizer.

The synthesizer section has great bubbly analog sounds. The sequencing portion is great at controlling other CV/Gate equipment including vintage synthesizers and modular eurorack synthesizer. Used by many artists including Aphex Twin, Autechre, and many others.

The unit is in excellent condition and features a modification which bypasses external CV/Gate input signals from the CPU, thereby reducing the lag. Although many companies perform this modification, most of them do so by drilling holes into the sides of the synthesizer.

Included are the original packaging, styrofoam inserts, manuals, and an rare original Roland carrying case."

Based off the famous transistor ladder filter patented by Bob Moog in 1966, and made famous in the Moog Modular and Minimoog synthesizers in the 1960s and 1970s, the Ladder Filter module is the definition of raw, raunchy, and powerful. Turn up the Saturation knob for even more overdriven tone. Cutoff, Resonance (or "Emphasis"), and Saturation are all CV-controllable, too!

The Euclidean Duel module is a beast of a trigger-sequencing module, and can generate complex polyrhythms with ease. The Euclidean Duel module may be the most complex and deeply modulatable Euclidean rhythm generating module ever."
