OB-6 vs. Prophet-6 (Pads) // PATCH MATCH™ (No Talking)
Published on Dec 27, 2018 MR TUNA Music
"It's an all-new episode of PATCH MATCH FROM SCRATCH™, once again featuring the incredible OB-6 and Prophet-6 analog synthesizers from Dave Smith Instruments.
These two are some of the most comparable synths on the market today, especially considering they are both built off of the same platform, with almost identical feature sets. That's not to say they sound the same at all, though: there are some pretty distinguishing characteristics and features that really set them apart.
We'll try to match 'em up as best we can, and then if you're hanging around we'll explore some of the differences.
Check it out, and let me know what you think."

Calm Cloud Music with AE Modular Synth + iFretless Bass + Volt (in HDR on supported devices) #TTNM

"Here’s an ambient music jam with the AE Modular Vactrol Low-Pass Gate and State Variable Filter modules :) They sound awesome! Plus some iFretless Bass and Volt synth noodling on the iPad. MORE INFO BELOW :)

Audio gear used:
- Tangible Waves AE Modular Synthesizer (check it out!!!)
- iFretless Bass iOS synth
- VOLT iOS synth
I sent a wavefolded triangle wave into the new AE Modular State Variable Filter (SVF), which also self-resonates and receives the same pitch CV as the triangle VCO. I also patched the bandpass output into the CV2 input of the SVF to get a different waveform from the self-oscillation. The result runs through the new AE Modular LOPAG vactrol lowpass gate module, for plucky percussion sounds. Then there are a bunch of other VCOs, the Lofi Delay and MultiFX Shimmer Reverb. I sequenced everything the with 16 step sequencer, S&H and Clock Divider.
Afterwards, I played some iFretless Bass and VOLT synths on top on the iPad."
DEX5MBER 4: Yamaha EX5, EXIDO1, some pedals - relaxed 100BPM synth jam
Published on Dec 27, 2018 Floyd Steinberg
"I found an EXIDO1 interface for my EX5 on eBay, which adds 2 stereo output jacks to this synth. Once installed, patches can be routed through individual audio outputs. In this example, I connected 3 different pedals to the synthesizer (ZOOM MS100BT, Strymon BigSky, Strymon Sunset).
This was played in one take, no overdubs. Just some overlay videos showing the installation & setup and other things. ;-)"

X1L3 - circuit bent Casio SA-46 - The Void
Published on Dec 27, 2018 X1L3
"Setting a scene in a melodic set using the midi retrofit and a couple of presets through filter and delay. Backing and percussion generated in the DAW. A proof of concept machine - the panels are homebrew matt blacked FR4 with legend scratched on. The real deal will be the usual screen printed pro affair.
Where to get and what's in there below:
Fitted with a monophonic midi interface. The board is polyphonic but the amount of routing and circuitry required to implement this via midi isn't doable in the space available. The compromise is still cool though, giving a mix of automation that can be played over, plus being a bent machine it can pull off all sorts of strange stuff when you spend a bit of time getting to know it. The standard format on the spectrum of nice to nasty - melodic to harsh noise all loaded up in this one.
It has a resonant filter, 'ruiner' ringmod/distortion and a digital delay configured as a circuit bent delay pedal might be - that is untethered feedback and filtering for texture and noise generation and manipulation. Also added is a global pitch control with fine and coarse dials.
A couple of other vids will no doubt be uploaded by the time or shortly after you see this. They'll illustrate the more volatile, unhinged and hands on nature of these things."

"This is a rare edition of the italian vintage mono synth JEN SX2000.
It's rebranded Marlin and for what I know it's a brand that distributed the synth in the UK.
This particular unit is in very good cosmetic condition, almost excellent. Very rare to find these cheap italian synth in that condition.
It is also perfectly working because I just serviced it:
- desoldered and cleaned the buss bar and key contacts
- replaced all the IC (and upgrade some with better ones without sacrifying original tone)
- cleaned and lubed all the faders
- calibrated and tuned"

PO 33 Case Assemby and Review #po33 #beatmakeristhesquad

Update: video is back online.
"Recently I purchased a Teenage Engineering Po 33 KO. Since I have had it, I have literally not been able to put it down. It's almost as if I have been trying to make up for lost time for all of the time that I should have had this sampler. Anyhow in the short time that I have had it I learned that a case is probably the best option for the it because it's small and not enclosed at all. During a monster google and instagram search I came across the PO Case DIY Kit on www.dichstudios.com. For $23 this case is an absolute no brainer. It may seem intimidating at first to put together, but I can tell you that it is actually fairly easy, quick and straightforward."
