"This is a modified vintage EMS TKS sequencer built into a hand-made transformed wooden case. The device has a lot of modifications, which are unique features that serial sequencers did not have. I will also sell the rest of Sam's system, a unique Randrum and THE PATCH PANEL LOGIC This device was in a smoking studio so there is a smell of tobacco. This is a very cool innovative device for that time. it has historical and museum item. the author took a long time and big work and love to create this complex device."

"I have an original Roland MC-202 MicroComposer analog synthesizer which comes in its original box and contents. I purchased this in Japan and the previous owner barely used it! The MC-202 is in excellent condition and even comes with original sealed manuals and original Roland factory cable which are unused.

For those who may not be familiar, the Roland MC-202 was a hybrid between the Roland SH-101 synthesizer and a MC-4 MicroComposer released in 1983. The design concept was that users could use the MC-202 to program up to 2 other analog synthesizers via its mini keyboard sequencer via 2 CV/Gate outputs or use the built-in SH-101 analog sound generator in a portable Walkman-like battery operated device.

The MC-202 is excellent for programming eurorack modular gear and interfacing with other Roland x0x equipment. It is a favorite of Aphex Twin, Autechre, Daft Punk and many others..."

This little synth can sound MASSIVE when need be!!!

"I first knew Doug Lynner's work as the editor/publisher of Synapse Magazine, an electronic music magazine before most people even knew that was a thing. Doug laid the groundwork for magazine-as-history in our cultural world, and took the opportunity to leverage his position and location (L.A.) to get a lot of great interviews over the magazines short-ish lifetime.

I have a couple of listener requests to have a chat with Doug, which caused me to do a little background work. My God - what a career. Between his CalArts education, the magazine work, his bands and his long history with Serge systems (including being an artist/demo dude for Serge himself), he was clearly a touchpoint for the things that interest all of us.

He continues full-force, doing one-on-one teaching, producing a weekly live performance radio show on KZSU (https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/bl...) and releasing new work based on his Modular Tonalism system. Before YouTube I have make some tracks with this QM stuff. Unfortunately I lost the most after a disk crash in 2001.
But I have a lot demo stuff in my big synthesizer archive and I will show some demos here from time to time .

The #Raven is a ROM sample based #synthesizer workstation with synthesizer, sequencer, drumcomputer, arpeggiator, fx processors from the year 1996.

"Those two models were released in 1983 and are the last full-analog rhythm machines from Roland/BOSS currently. In the same year, TR-909 was also released, which contained some PCM sounds in it.

The programmable DR-110 was basically for the guitar practice, while the PB-300 was to accompany the digital piano with MIDI and is equipped with simple auto arranger function.

Here I programmed the rhythm patterns similar with PB-300 on DR-110. Since DR-110 has no tom/conga sounds, they are replaced with other instruments such as the snare drum or hand clap."

"I was speaking to Michael a few weeks ago RE his instruments. I noticed his Maximal Drone a while back, but had picked up other gear in the meantime. I got round to ordering some of his items, which arrived yesterday. I'll possibly post some music with some of the other toys in the near future.

Warning to UK residents: I paid almost £60 just on customs charges (!). Postage alone added up to the price of a reverb pedal.

The Maximal sounds great. Quite lo-fi, but when ran through some outboard, it really comes to life. When I head it, to my ear it was begging for some guitar. Nothing complex or technical, just textural for setting the mood/feel.

The guitar is a '94 Strat ran through a Mesa TC-50. Great sound. Every note comes through clean; no distortion-blurring. I didn't film the guitar part, given it is just a few chords. Also opting to keep the video all-synth.

The DFAM section is quite the contrast to the sense of freedom of the first half.

Interesting meter in this piece (15/8).
