CHRONOS - "Cinematic Synthesizer"แดดแดฐ

video upload by Altar Records

"All Links ►

Chronos, one of the pillar artists of Altar Records is back with a new brand album recorded live on vintage synthesizers.

Synthesizers have been a big part of film music for the past 50 years.
Think Vangelis and "Blade Runner", John Carpenter and "Halloween", Daft Punk and "Tron" movies...

Nick Klimenko aka Chronos is back with a second live-played album exploring all the depths of hardware analog and digital synthesizers.

Eight hardware synthesizers from four different decades were chosen for creating an unique cinematic music atmosphere.

The synth patches were made especially for this album.
Iconic and new ones, rich analog & complex digital sounds are taken from:

Alesis Ion
Yamaha SY-77
Arturia PolyBrute
Roland D50
Kawai K5000
Korg King Korg
Arturia MatrixBrute
Korg DSS-1

Everything was played and recorded live in one take!
Nick has spent hours in his studio, practicing live playing,
sequencing patterns and harmonies, making atmospheric pads for every single piece in this release.
Then he hit the “record” button and played every song at one time.

Dedicated to Klaus Schulze (1947-2022)"

And the press release:

New plugins and a new Sounds Mode offering a powerful way to access, explore, and load MPC instrument presets, projects, and custom layered track combinations.

Cumberland, RI USA (June 9, 2022) Akai Professional, a leading manufacturer of music equipment for performers and producers announces the upcoming MPC 2.11 features update, free for registered MPC users and available on June 23, 2022. This feature update provides MPC music creators with new tools and enhancements for better productions with a more creative and organized workflow.

The new Sounds Mode is a vibrant multi-faceted browser that puts all the MPC instruments front and center. Dive into any plugin and search the presets by category or, cycle through and preview sounds individually. Save up to 256 presets for quick recall on the Favorites Tab and lay out your projects for one-touch loading on the Setlists Tab, enabling faster load times in between song performances.

MPC 2.11 also adds 2 new plugin effects. The new AIR Flavor plugin adds instant vinyl simulation to any sound source. Add flutter, tube saturation, distortion, and more for rich, textured manipulation from 30 different Timbers. Additionally, the new AIR Amp Sim insert effect delivers sweet and crunchy distortion, EQ and tone color to samples, vocals, drums, synths, bass, and yes—guitars—or any other sound source. AIR Amp Sim adds texture and character that brings your sound to life.

MPC 2.11 also adds Probability & Ratcheting for humanizing your tracks and adding more feel. This feature will add interesting variation and dimension to repetitive beats, rhythms and melody lines. The Note Probability feature lets you control note variations at 25%, 50%, or 75% increments, while the Ratchet feature adds a creative subdivision to notes into any increment from 1-8. More creative control means more fresh, exciting new ideas.

The MPC Tuner is a one-touch instrument tuner assuring your instruments are always in tune, without the need to unplug and connect to a hardware device—perfect for stringed instruments or analog synthesizers and modules.

The new drum Pad to Keygroup function allows you to assign and pitch any sample from a pad instantly to a new keygroup program, which can then be played across the key-range. Any sampled sound from a drum program can now be played as scales, chords or melodies for musical dimension. Additionally, new MIDI Key Splits can layer multiple tracks with the Key Ranges section, each with unique split points. Blend 8 instrument tracks or any combination of Drum, Keygroup, and MIDI tracks to create massive multi-timbral sound stacks.

EMBARGO UNTIL Thursday June 9th, 2022, AT 10AM EDT / 3PM BST

WiFi enabled MPC devices will now support Ableton Link 3.0 for responsive start and stop controls, keeping all your devices in perfect sync. MPC 2.11 will now also allow the configuration of a track to filter notes outside a given key range or velocity range.

MPC 2.11 will be available Thursday June 23, 2022, as a free download for all registered standalone MPC hardware users.

Novation Peak/Summit: 50 FREE Custom Wavetables. No Talking

video upload by Anton Anru

"Welcome to the collection of 50 custom wavetables for Novation Peak/Summit. The wavetables give a wide range of tones: from warm, soft, analog-style to bright, metallic, harsh.
The collection expands the sound palette of the synth and gives space for new presets.
The waves sound nice in a 'static mode', and they give a pleasant movement when the Shape is modulated by LFO, Envelope or other sources.

๐Ÿ’พ Get the wavetables:

Unfortunately, Peak/Summit can store only 10 wavetables, but you may store as many as you want in your Novation Components account, and easily and quickly upload the files to the synth.

- Login into Novation Component website, choose your synth (Peak or Summit).
- Select the 'Wavetable Editor' tab.
- Push 'New Wavetable' and choose 'Upload Wavetable'.
- Locate a file on your computer.
- Push 'Save' - 'Save As' - 'Save'.

Now the file is added into the collection 'My Wavetables'.
You should repeat this action with all wavetables, as there's no function (I hope it will be possible in future) to upload/save several files simultaneously.

- When the collection is ready, choose a wavetable from the left-side panel. You can see it now on the screen.
- Choose a slot in a pop-up menu above the image, where the wavetable will be stored on the synth: 1 - 10.
- Push 'Send to Peak/Summit'.
- You can now listen to how the wavetable sounds. But it's not stored on the synth, it's in 'temporary' memory. If you like the wavetable and want to use it in the future, you should store it.
- On Peak/Summit, go to OSC menu, the very last page. You will see there the current wavetable (as well as other custom ones).
- Push 'Save' button. Now the wavetable is saved in a chosen slot.

The song was on an old ORWO music cassette that I had recorded at RIAS Berlin sometime in the mid-80s. The ending was stalled because the moderator had babbled into the recording again. As so often. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I loved the song because I liked those metallic PPG synthesizer sounds. Without even knowing at the time that it was a PPG or how look a PPG synthesizer. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It didn't matter either, because that was all unattainable at the time anyway.

Matia Bazar - Ti Sento (1985)

I used here the PPG wave 2.2 synthesizer for the most sounds. Layered with the E-MU Emulator II (strings, choir layer, percussion and some fx sounds)

The PPG Wave Synthesizer from the year 1982 is one of the most fascinatic synths ever. Used by Trevor Horn, Rush, Ultravox, Gary Numan Tangerine Dream, Depeche Mode, Propaganda, Tears For Fears, Robert Palmer and many others. Here can you find the full PPG wave playlist with a lot single sound demos, wavetable demos, PPG Waveterm demos and one synth demo tracks. Enjoy.

Pico modules Erica Synths in action

video upload by Dziam Bass

"That's why I still like Pico modules from Erica Synths .
I have drums and a nice synth sound with VCO2 and I added Pico Voice- wavetable module.
I connected waves from VCO and Voice to Pico A Logic - these are different sums of SUM / DIFF / MAX and MIN and gives different exponential
Playing with VCF 3 and adding Voice wavetable on different prests produces different effects .for me very cool ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have given all to Fusion mixer for adding Tube sounds.
That sounds good to me and of course fun ...!!!
Drums from Pico Drums are also a kick in the ass.
Thanks for watching and have a nice day.
Cheers" Studio 110
