SEQUENTIAL PROPHET-10 REV. 4 - Sounds, Patches & Presets | Analog Synth Demo

video upload by synth4ever

"Sequential Prophet-10 REV. 4 analog synth demo featuring sounds, patches and presets. In this demo of the Prophet 10 Rev. 4 synthesizer from Sequential I showcase various preset sounds and patches including pads, plucks, bass, fx, leads and more. This Sequential Prophet 10 demo was filmed at Sequential.

The Sequential Prophet-10 Rev. 4 is an updated re-imagining of the legendary Prophet 5 and Prophet 10 Rev 1, 2 and 3 analog synthesizers. The Prophet 10 Rev 4 has 10 polyphonic voices, 61 keys w/ velocity, channel aftertouch and can be operated in monotimbral or bi-timbral modes (layer/split).

The Prophet 10 Rev 4 also features 2 VCOs (saw, pulse, triangle) w/ hard sync, 1x LFO (saw, pulse and triangle), a 4-pole lowpass filter (CEM 3320 and SSI 2140 modes), 2x ADSR envelopes, mixer, white noise, poly mod, portamento glide, unison, vintage mode, mono audio output, USB midi and more.

The Prophet 10 Rev4 is a legendary analog synth in sound, design and aesthetics. It can sound bright and brash, old and dusty, dark and moody, or everything in between. As a faithful re-imagining of the original Prophet 5, the Prophet 10 Rev 4 is a triumph of the late Dave Smith's incredible synth design. It sounds amazing, and I'm very glad I had the chance to try it -- it is a beautiful instrument in so many ways. If you like the Prophet sound, this is the one to get!"

Jam - Just the Sequential OB-6 from Init #NOTALKING #NOEFFECTS #OB6 #synthesizer

video upload by HansiLa

"Here's a 5ish minute jam on the Sequential OB-6 synth from scratch.

I hit the keys initially on the 009 patch which for some reason is the famous Broken EP that is on my 007, 008 and 009 slots for some reason. I know the patch is popular but someone must've really loved it.

From there, I load up an initialized patch, create a sequence and see where things go.

Hopefully, you enjoy the jam, can see what I'm doing and maybe it inspires some patches/sounds for you to make. There's some adjusting of the amp envelope, LFO, filter and even some X-Mod (still need to take some time to understand the X-mod)."

Buchla/Tiptop #257T | Voltage Processor

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"The 257 Voltage Processor is the latest addition to the Buchla/Tiptop Audio 200 series. It may not have the impressive looks of the previous releases, but - again - it's an amazing design by the legendary Don Buchla and it opens up many patches that are hard to achieve in modern Eurorack. The 257 and 281 (quad function generator) inspired many contemporary modules, with MakeNoise Maths being the most significant.

It will take some time to fold your brain around it, but this episode will hopefully make the module feel less scientific. The 257T has an equation on the panel that involves three voltages a, b and c. Voltage a can be attenuverted, voltage b and c can be crossfaded. These voltages are added together and finally you can add an offset voltage to the final output. It may feel like quantum mechanics instead of music, but that's the Westcoast way. To infinity and beyond!

Additional Tone Tweakers Listings, also on Reverb

"We bought this and many other items from the Scissor Sisters studio a few years ago when they got rid of their studio. It’s been tested and is working well (see below) and will be tested again prior to shipping, as usual. This unit contains the keyboards of the 60s and 70s expansion card (normally sells for $200 now) and also comes with a roland m-256e ram card (normally sells for $125 now). If this doesnt sell as a package, we may consider splitting them up later.

The value knob feels a little loose but is fully functional. the volume knob MAY (or may not) be a tiny bit loose - we dont have another for comparison so we’re not sure (we normally deal in older vintage synths). Either way, it works fine too. This item is just tested, not serviced. As with all items of this type and age, we would recommend replacing the internal battery and also the battery in the RAM card."

"The Japanese Baldwin Discoverer DS-50 came out in mid/late 70s (pre-MIDI) and features control over the synth sounds plus a built in drum machine. All original knobs are present. Every single function tested and works excellent as intended, this includes every single key. And all keys are level and have a good almost weighted feel to them.

The auto-accompany can be turned on or off and split at the keyboard (rhythm vs melody). There's a built in speaker but it can be bypassed using the audio outs. This makes it easy to implement in your home studio.

They really built instruments to last in the 70s. The DS-50 is made of metal and really well constructed. Original power cord is included. Also included is the hard to find original owners manual as well as the detachable music rack and original travel case."

The screen is blue lettering on black background - very nice !

- SCSI HD on board with a number of nice sample banks on it

Does this digital synth sibling of the Digitakt and Syntakt finally make FM synthesis accessible to synth noobs? Does the awesome Elektron sequencer of this FM groovebox / drum machine make a difference and why is it technically less powerful than classic 80s synths like the Yamaha DX7?

Twenty Moog Subharmonicon Patches

video upload by riotbell

"Here are twenty original patches for the Subharmonicon. Thought I would take a different approach. Instead of uploading one long play patch, I figured it would be more helpful and digestible to just gather them all into one video.

After nearly a year of battling with the Subharmonicon, I decided to approach it as a sort of Zen project in which I would just explore the synth on its own terms, and see where it led.

This video chronicles some of the more musical (and unmusical) patches that I've struggled to put together.

Huge thanks to the guy that runs moogsubharmoniconpatches.com. It's cool to see a creative community dedicated to freely sharing ideas. More than one of these patches evolved out of a failed attempt to replicate something cool I found on that site.

Sorry for he lack of patch notes, with work and family I just don't have the spare time to make and edit videos and sketch out patch notes on modulargrid. I hope the video quality allows people to clearly see what's going on. Please feel free to ask about anything that might be unclear.

More explanation in the video itself."

Artwork by Ruben Spini

Caterina Barbieri is an Italian composer who explores themes related to machine intelligence and object oriented perception in sound through a focus on minimalism.

Following 2017's acclaimed 2LP "Patterns of Consciousness", "Ecstatic Computation" is the new full-length LP by Caterina Barbieri. The album revolves around the creative use of complex sequencing techniques and pattern-based operations to explore the artefacts of human perception and memory processes by ultimately inducing a sense of ecstasy and contemplation. Computation is turned from being a formal, automatic writing technique into a creative, psychedelic practice to generate temporal hallucinations. A state of trance and wonder where the perception of time is distorted and challenged.

Equally nervous and ecstatic, the fast permutation of patterns can create a state where time stands still whilst simultaneously being in motion. Is this propulsive music moving forward or backward? As long as the perception of the present is constantly enhanced and refreshed in an endless sense of loss, re-discovery and the search for self-orientation this question lies mute aside the thrilling and perplexing moment of the matter at hand."

After Later Audio CANYON: Sub-harmonic/Stepped CV Generator

video upload by After Later Audio

"Canyon is a sub-harmonics generator with two sections fed by two different clock sources. The first section offers odd sub harmonics, dividing the clocks by 1, 3, 5, and 7. The second section offers even sub harmonics, dividing the clocks by 2, 4, 6, and 8. These two section outputs are then mixed together via a voltage controlled crossfader. The outputs can either be used in the audio range to create rich sounds or used at slower rates as CV sources, even patched back into one of the oscillators. Each side of Canyon can also be clocked independently, which can lead to some rich tones."
