"The Plasma Voice module loves being modulated, But how about just playing it as a standard synth voice? Here I twiddle at length with just one of the 49 core sounds. This is bass sound number 2, but it happily scales up and down the octaves. One thing I like about the Plasma is that you don't need to tune it. As much as I liked all my old analog Eurorack oscillators, I absolutely hated tuning them. Often I wouldn't bother, then I'd come up with something good and realize it wasn't going to fit with anything else until I stopped everything, broke the spell, and went back and tuned them :/
Playing a Plasma voice with no modulation isn't what you'd probably often do. It's setup for easy and crazy amounts of realtime change. OTOH it's interesting as a synth voice to play with a range of unfamiliar parameters. Since there's no ADSRs or other standard controls you tend to go in different directions.
Ten minutes of this might be overkill, but as my daughter always says (with a laugh): "Your channel is so niche", so I'm unfazed. It actually felt quite brief to me although the Nightverb was essential to smooth things out.
And watch your ears at the 4 minute mark. There's no compression, limiting or other volume modifications on the audio and the sound gets rather piercing.

The tone of the 800DV was a bit challenging to figure out, as the original mix and tone of the 800DV is slightly different in each song (An Enchanted Evening). I think I have managed to come close to the tone of the 800DV in this cover.

AXIOM is a Eurorack module based on the popular concept of the Euclidean Rhythm, where a defined number of HITS is evenly distributed throughout a sequence.
It allows two CV inputs for each if its four lanes – one for the number of HITS in each lane, and a second for either the number of STEPS in each sequence or for an OFFSET to its starting position.
Each sequence can be assigned a different length, causing the rhythms in each lane to move in and out of phase with one another. A pattern of up to 21,840 steps is possible before repeating if the right settings are chosen!*
An internal clock or external CV trigger can be used to progress the sequencer.
AXIOM is available as either a DIY Kit or as a fully assembled product.

Each lane shares the same Attack and Release controls, but these can be further modified by the Wonk parameter:
More Wonk will make the top envelopes longer and the bottom envelopes shorter.
Less Wonk will make the top envelopes shorter and the bottom envelopes longer.
WONK can run in Attack-Release, Hold-Release or Looping modes, and is available fully built or as a DIY kit.

what is it
the NSA selector is a eurorack module with two ethernet jacks and one audio output. any bit on the network will be sent to the audio output.
what it's not
this is not an "audio interface". we do not play back any "format" such as RTP or MP3 or WAV ot the like. the eurorack module does not "speak" any protocol. all traffic is forwarded from one network jack to the other unmodified. it's just tapped, intercepted to convert it to audio.

"Syd and I, performing live at Lumen Labs in Berkeley, August 2nd, 2025. Milan Metro should find itself on streaming platforms in the next month. One of the things I have been working with Syd on is to have her perform the song a few times before singing in the studio. This allows her to get comfortable with her voice articulations and lyric memorization prior to studio recording. Currently, I feel like Milan Metro is the most original piece of music we've done so far. A nice yin and yang of a younger life perspective, combined with my lengthy background in instrumental electronic music. I hope you enjoy.
Unfortunately, we had a second GoPro connected to the main mixer outs to record some really nice audio. The battery ran out very quickly, so we're stuck with the GoPro's internal mic. Not terrible, but could have been better.

"MKS-70 with PG-800 controller and desirable Vecoven upgrades (3.x flash eprom A). This synth does not have the PWM upgrade, but the added upgrade provides 36 new banks of memory, arpeggiator, chord mode, etc (see detail sheet below). It is a beautiful sounding synth which becomes highly operational with the controller. It is the rackmount version of the JX10, which I believe is the equivalent of two JX8Ps.

"I modified my YAMAHA FS1R to add S/PDIF digital output by my self-developed digital audio transmitter board.
This modification allows user to bypass the internal DAC of the FS1R, generates 18-bit bit-perfect PCM output, resulting a more expressive, richer sound compare to the analog output.
I believe that I'm the first one to perform a digital recording of this versatile synthesizer, in fact, this video is first uploaded to Bilibili (BV1Dw411Q7et).

"The piece 'Nachtblau' has gone full circle. I originally wrote it as a synthesizer piece, when I got GForce Software's Oberheim Eight Voice emulation, OB-E for review.
While recording my first solo album, Weltmaschine, I transformed it into a piano piece and recorded it with Nils Frahm's Zwicki Piano at his studio in Funkhaus, Berlin.
As there is not always a piano availlable when I play live shows, I rarely played that piece on stage. But since it gets requested a lot, I now went on to create a sound on my Oberheim Matrix 1000 which can be played very nuanced in dynamics and colour, so I can do this expressive piece justice. A few quick patches on the Erica Synths Syntrx, a powerful analog monosynth. Here I used the original version, not the Syntrx II which came sometime later.
Based in Riga, Latvia, Erica Synths teamed up with engineers from Riga Technical University to design a modern instrument based on the EMS VCS3/Synthi from the early Seventies, keeping the same overall structure with a few additions. They also kept the patchboard matrix, but replacing the original pins with a digital system with patch memory.
