"Time Intertwines" Arturia Microfreak, Minifreak, Moog Matriarch, AudioThing Noises

video upload by Vöstok-one

"Time Intertwines,

In the morning’s chill, in the evening’s light,
Each step a stride towards hope’s height,
On the shores of the lake, where time intertwines,
Where the world’s beauty ever shines.

May the wind carry our fleeting fears away,
And may the lake whisper in our ears,
The secrets of dreams yet to be found,
On the path to tomorrow’s hallowed ground.

I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I had fun playing it."

Moog Mother-32: Techno Jam Patterns/Sequences. No Talk Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"Moog Mother-32 'Techno Jam' is a collection of 64 patterns suitable for different genres like Techno, Minimal, House, Progressive, Acid, Deep, Rave, Dub, Tribal, Hardcore, Industrial, Dark, Electro, etc.
The soundset contains a wide range of sequences: dense, with all steps active, or sparse, having many empty steps and giving space for other instruments. Some patterns are made in Natural Minor, they will work nicely for Deep or Melodic Techno, while some use other modes, like Phrygian and are associated with Acid 303-lines.

💾 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/m32-...

Each seq is thoroughly set with parameters such as Gate Length, Ratchet, Glide, and Accent. The length of the sequences varies from 9 to 32 steps, including "odd" lengths (e.g., 14, 18, and so on) for polyrhythmic/polymetric grooves.

By default, the sequences are in the C3 Minor scale. This range is best suited for bass lines. However, you may transpose them to octaves higher to create melodic lines. You can also adjust the root note in semitones using the onboard keyboard to fit any scale. Additionally, transposition during playback can be used to create progressions, as demonstrated in some examples in my video demo.

Moog Mother-32 doesn't have the import/export feature. The only way to share a melodic line is old good Patterns Sheets - a picture, where all parameters are put to the picture, and then, a pattern is recreated manually by following the settings on the sheets.
Thus, the soundset is presented in the form of a PDF file. You can see an example of a pattern in the video or on the product page, the picture is attached.

There are audio examples of all seqs inside the folder with the soundset. The timbre in the examples is kept simple to avoid disturbing the perception with excessive modulations. After you've programmed a pattern, you can then set the patch to any complexity level.

The soundset doesn't include Mother-32 patches/timbres/front-panel settings. Patterns only.
You may find Mother-32 patches on my website as separate products.

You can use the patterns as ready-to-go material for your tracks or jams. Alternatively, you can go further by taking them as a starting point. Decorate the sequences with the features offered by Mother-32: play with pattern length (end point), direction, rotation (shifts the starting point back and forward), swing amount and division, tempo division if you use an external clock, momentary actions like hold, accent, ratchet, and others, reset, and, of course, you can change patterns by muting/adding steps or changing notes. Thus, a single sequence can produce many "siblings" in real time.

One of my favorite tracks from the early 80s.
Vienna by Ultravox (1981)
Written by Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann

featured: Moog Minimoog from the year 1978, Logan String Melody2 and the Linndrum

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on YouTube.
Thank you.

Bob Moog Foundation to Host The Sounds of Innovation - First Public Broadcast of the Abominatron Tape

via The Bob Moog Foundation

"We are excited to announce that the Moogseum will be hosting The Sounds of Innovation, the first public broadcast of the Abominatron Tape in its entirety. The event will occur on Friday, March 29, at 7:00 p.m. It will feature an introductory reading by Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa from Bob Moog's biography, Switched On: Bob Moog and the Synthesizer Revolution, followed by a listening session of the full iconic 84-minute tape.

Tickets for the event are $15 per person and are now on sale.
The event is limited to 20 people, so do not hesitate to buy your ticket now.

In the summer of 1964, Bob Moog and Herb Deutsch began working on what would eventually become the Moog modular prototype. Deutsch spent three weeks working side by side with Moog in his basement workshop in Trumansburg, New York, where he added crucial input to the design process. Moog spent several months developing the prototype and later that year, he sent Deutsch the now-historic tape explaining the various controls, parameters, and capabilities of the Moog modular prototype.

The Moog modular prototype is widely considered the instrument that marked the genesis of a musical revolution and significantly advanced the development of electronic music. The Abominatron Tape captures the very first recorded sounds of a Moog modular.

The Sounds of Innovation is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts."

SYNTOVOX 221 VOCODER

via this auction

"Vocoder built by the dutch high end synthesizer company Synton. Distributed in the USA by [Bob] Moog's Big Brair company.

This is the flagship vocoder from Synton, and is among the best vocoders of all time. It shares company with the EMS 5000 and the Sennheiser VSM-201 vocoder.

It's really rare, only 20 pieces was made.

One of the ultimate best vocoders in the universe, if not THE best. This is what Wendy Carlos said (on the web )- 'Question #4 -- What kind of vocoder do/did you prefer? Felix Visser made the best ones, for his long-gone (alas!) Synton company, all during the 80's. Some other fine devices exist, as the EMI/Synthi big one, and Sennheiser's expensive one, those and dear Harald Bode's design that Moog's good 16-band one was similar to. The ultra-basic analog units were generally mushy-sounding. Synton's had the best intelligibility on spoken words for their original 32-band device, .......' This is Felix's own machine, serial number 010, and was actually used extensively by Wendy Carlos - there's a typed note to her on the power supply saying it had been changed to 115V for her. It has now been changed back to 220V by Felix Visser. Unlike some models, it has a complete case. It will be sold fully working, and with a signed cerificate of provenance.

Synthovox 221 is a 20-channel vocoder system which has made its way to numerous recording studios, radio stations, composers and scientific institutions for its outstanding quality and its unexcelled intelligibility.

It includes 54 dB/octave filter, a feature not found in any other vocoder on the market. It also offers the versatility of a build-in pulse generator for direct speech sythesis and several control units for pitch modulation.

It features matrix patching for format shifting and a highly precise voiced/unvoiced detector system. And it offers extreme flexibility by the multiway connector which gives access to the analyzer and synthesizer sections and the control terminals of the voiced/unvoiced detector.

The Intelligible Machine has set standards in vocoder techniques.

High end model, attenuator per channel.

Only about 20 of these were made. Users include Wendy Carlos (who owns a 221 & SPX 216), various electronic studio's in Europe. Best suited for studio use due to complex control.

The 221 has a 50-pin connector on the back which provides CV in and out for each channel, and other functions as described above."

Nu // Ambient 5 (Prophet 6, Prophet 12, Minitaur, Mono Lancet '15, Keystep Pro)

video upload by Mai

"This version of Nu is on the album Beta, released 8th December 2023: https://wormholeworld.bandcamp.com/al...

Besides deciding on a scale and having an idea of the notes to play for each instrument, this was improvised. It was also unquantized and played in free time. I switched each sequence into 'Walk' mode, which is semi-random and adds an element of chance in terms of how the 4 sequences will interact."

"Spectrums Symphony", Moog Matriarch, DFAM, Arturia Microfreak, Minifreak, AudioThing Noises

video upload by Vöstok-one

"When the Arturia Microfreak drives the Moog DFAM. That gives you something more musical than just a groove machine. So much to explore with this Moog if you take time with it.

This electronic symphony reminds me this strange landscape we found lost in the middle of Mongolia. The specter of a lost serenity, absorbed by the sky.

I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I had fun playing it."

"Secret Softly Sigh" Moog Matriarch, AudioThing Noises, Arturia Minifreak, DSI MophoX4

video upload by Vöstok-one

"Ambient and cinematic, drop into the black sand shore of mystery.
Moog Matriarch Lamentation and Audiothing Noises for the strange and mystic feeling. The Arturia Minifreak for this ... I don't know ... chord generative and the Mopho X4 for the pad.
Have fun with this almost 10 minutes of dark drone endless reverie shadows dance.

Verse 1)
Upon the blackened shores, where whispers roam,
Where windswept tales are carved in ancient stone.
In the misty veil, secrets softly sigh,
Beneath the northern sky, where dreams can fly.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Verse 2)
Through the veils of fog, a world unseen,
Where shadows dance and memories convene.
In the echo of waves, a melody untold,
In the heart of nature, where stories unfold.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Bridge)
In the depths of the night, where stars ignite,
In the soul of Iceland, where magic takes flight.
Through the misty morn, the secrets call,
In this timeless land, where wonders enthrall.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Outro)
In the whispers of the wind, I find my song,
In Iceland’s embrace, where I belong.
Forever bound to this ancient land,

I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I had fun playing it."

Studio Electronics MIDIMOOG w/ Original MiniMoog OSC Board SN 1123

Pics of the inside below.

"Original model MidiMoog.. Not very many of these made. This was one of SE's first builds. These few MidiMoog's had an original vintage Moog MiniMoog OSC board.. this is one of those.

It all works great.. Thesis Audio completely went through it a couple of years ago.. It is working and sounding great.. just like a vintage minimoog!

In many ways its better than a vintage minimoog.. it has MIDI, it has LFO and Filter Aftertouch!!! And is very portable.. all with the Mini sound.

A couple of things to note. There are scuffs and scratches around the body, The first WAVEFORM knob is a little loose from its post.. NOT THE POT.. just the plastic knob over the metal pot post.. needs a new set screw. And.. while its perfectly scaled and in tune across many octaves.. you may have to scale and tune it after transit.. takes 5-10 min and super easy.. tuning / scaling pots are accessed via the back panel with a mini flat head screwdriver. Might not need tuning when you get it, just stating for full disclosure."
