The bank of presets is dedicated to romantic, melancholic, nostalgic, retro/vintage, lo-fi sound. 🎹 The presets are presented in the Instrument Rack format, which combines synths and effects in a single device. Each Instrument Rack has 8 Macros that make it easy to develop timbre and adjust key parameters.
🎛 The macros are a significant part of the soundset. They can change tone, stereo width, modulation depth and rate, noise level, distortion, detuning, space/echo/reverb, effects mix, envelope parameters, and others. The soundset is suitable for many genres: ambient, electronica, IDM, trip-hop, lounge, downtempo, pop, chill out, new age, cinematic, trance, deep, progressive, techno, retrowave, synthwave, breaks, jungle, drum and bass, dub and others.

"Born and raised in Bucharest, Marian Ciungu is a filmmaker and video editor with over 10 years
of experience, a music producer and sound designer and the founder of first-of-its-kind
Romanian event Bucharest Modular Meet, a popular gathering for synths aficionados that would
have held its third edition in 2020.
Marian has been a technology addict ever since he can remember and has always considered
himself a sort of a geek. And it’s this exact affinity to geekdom that has made him pursue his
passions in a thorough manner and allowed him to add various layers to his life, every single
one involving creativity brought to life through technology.
In the past 15 years he’s also been a music producer and sound designer as part of a personal
project called DUALTRX, which he’s been developing out of sheer passion.
“INCONFLICT” is the producer’s fourth studio album and features 15 tracks with influences that
range from musique concrète, industrial, electro and trip-hop.
“In the past few years I've been inspired a lot by dawless music production and I found myself
using the modular synthesizers setup more than ever” says DUALTRX. “In Conflict is a
demonstration of that approach and type of performance and marks a pretty drastic change in
my sound from my previous releases. All the tunes on this album are made using only hardware
synths, without using the DAW or any other software of that sort.”
“INCONFLICT” is released by romanian indie label Underdog Records and available for
streaming and download worldwide HERE. Also each of the 15 tracks featured on the album is
accompanied by a video that features the producer’s impressive modular setup and offers a tiny
insight into his creative process. The videos are available on DUALTRX’s Youtube Channel."

"The Akai MPC60 by Roger Linn is the machine that reshaped hip-hop, electronic, trip-hop, and rave culture.
Today, I'm diving into why this legendary sampler still inspires producers, and then I jump into a hands-on sampling session inspired by The Prodigy — 'Smack My B%tch Up' from The Fat of the Land era.
I’ll explore its story — from design breakthroughs and 12-bit grit, to the Akai drama that cut Roger Linn out of his own creation — and then I’ll show you how to sample, trim, assign pads, sequence, and jam directly on the MPC60.
What you’ll learn:
• Why the MPC60 became a classic
• How early electronic pioneers used it
• Sampling on the MPC60 step-by-step (The Basics)
• Assigning pads, bars & sequencing
• Playing & jamming the samples on the MPC
I’ll show you a simple way to start sampling and building beats on the MPC60 using The Prodigy’s iconic track as inspiration, no plugins, no DAW, just the machine."

"🥁 Arturia Drumbrute Impact – Poly Rhythms is a collection of 64 polyrhythmic patterns suitable for experimental genres: IDM, techno, dubsteb, trip-hop, industrial, breakbeat, breaks, downtempo, and others.
🎛 In this soundset, I worked in Polyrhythm mode to experiment with complex patterns. In this mode, the percussion becomes almost generative, with no repeating cycles. At the same time, I aimed to preserve the “readability” of the sequences and keep simple core elements, so the sequences don’t turn into a mess.
The patterns are meticulously crafted: Accents and Color Steps are all carefully programmed.
The sequences are self-sufficient by default, but I recommend interacting with the drum machine for a more interesting and expressive live performance: use Mute and Solo to build your arrangement, Roller for fills, and adjust instrument parameters — especially Decay. The combination of long and short hits always has a strong impact on the groove.
🕹 You can also bring more variation by using Swing and Random, either globally or per instrument. ⚙️ The collection covers a wide BPM range: 90–154. You can set BPM manually in Internal Clock mode or sync to any external source and its tempo.
💡 The soundset includes only patterns — no sounds/presets/timbre settings. I added synth parts to the demos to put the drums into a musical context. These synth parts are not included in the soundset. ‼️ Not compatible with the original/first Drumbrute ‼️

"On a basic level this machine is a theremin style sound control and effects
unit, but it is so much more than that. You can choose from fifty tripped-out,
mind-bending effects and sounds designed to modify any audio signal, from CDs
and vinyl to real-time live performances. You simply dial in the number of the
effect you want using the large program select button, press it to confirm and
off you go.
If you like a particulat effect you have just created, pressing the
large program button once again will 'hold' that effect. Just a fantastic piece
of kit! You can also attach it to a standard microphone stand.
The definitive musical instrument for this wild, wired and whacked-out world we
call home. But you don't even have to touch it to play it. No strings. No keys.
No pedals. Just move your hands - or any other body part - through the
invisible, 3D infrared sphere. Twist the twangiest country tune into non-stop
trip hop. Transform ad jingles into trance.
Or warp the edgiest drum and bass tracks straight into the twilight
zone. And back again, changing the sound with the slightest twitch of your hand.
Connect the airFX to any line-level sound source and speaker system and you’re
ready to go. Move you hand, or any other body part through the 3D sphere to turn
your tunes inside out.

"I tried to create a #Triphop track in the style of Massive Attack. As seen in the video, this was done #DAWless on hardware #synthesizer: Digitone plays the drum pattern and the Novation PEAK and also provides the MIDI clock. EX5 is in it's 16 voice performance mode, song sequencer playing a chain of 4 patterns (intro, verse, break, silence), providing pads, sub bass, the harp sound and some sound effects. The pad sound is a pure saw wave routed through the additional audio outputs into my pedal board. I use the Strymon Big Sky's brightness setting for creating that sublime filter sweep effect. The 1010 Music Blackbox is synced to the Digitone, playing back the guitar and vocal track recorded previously. Music recorded, mixed and mastered on a Zoom R24, as can be seen in the video. As also seen in this video, absolutely no skill whatsoever is needed for playing this live, but the preperation for this took quite some hours. :-)
