The Synth was mainly used privately and has not seen any performances or anything else. Please note that I am only selling the device without accessories. Also known as Coast Highway (and Carlsbad Blvd within the eponymous city limits), this was part of the original US 101 in California that stretched from San Diego to the Oregon border. It was truncated to Los Angeles in 1964, and several of the former sections to the south have been signed as "Historic US 101". This segment is also signed as San Diego county route S21.

A "Little Synth" Designed by Legends
Crumar S.P.A., based in Castelfidardo, Italy, was a notable player in the 1970s musical instrument industry, specializing in home organs, digital pianos, and multi-sound keyboards, and with a significant focus on the U.S. market. Sante Crucianelli, the son of the owner, became the driving force behind Crumar's design and strategies. Crumar became known for its open lab culture, frequently allowing competitors to test instruments, a rare practice for the time. Another key figure during this period was Luciano Jura, a designer, musician, and programmer. Luciano became crucial as Crumar's point of contact with synth pioneer Bob Moog, which led to a collaboration that resulted in the creation of Crumar's Spirit synthesizer.
Although many details have been lost due to the passing of key figures and the closure of Crumar, the development of the Spirit synthesizer in the U.S. is well documented. Key contributors to the project, codenamed "Little Synth," included Moog engineer Jim Scott, Moog clinician and electronic music historian Tom Rhea, and Bob Moog himself. The project likely began around 1980 or 1981, and incorporated elements from earlier projects by Scott and Moog. Rhea played an essential role in defining the Spirit's key features, such as the keyboard scanning setup, panel layout, functional architecture, and technical documentation. The Crumar Spirit went into production and was released in late 1983.
"Beautiful vintage crumar spirit. Comes with original extra vintage filterchip cem3350. i had modi implanted by Cox-electronics in the Netherlands. The hole and text where already there. Think crumar wanted it that time. It's been totally cleaned by Cox Electronics as well. Lot's of fun now with the midi and some functionality has midi cc as well. It's near mint. Sounds amazing this is not the remake but the original one made by Bob Moog."

This unit works at 117V from factory, if you use it in Europe you should buy a voltage converter (around 50€ for a good one on Amazon) The working condition are very good, I never had a single problem with this synth from when I bought it, obviously you should consider that it’s a 40+ years old instrument and sometimes could need some knobs cleaning and standard maintenance. The aesthetic condition are very good for its age, as usual there are different signs of use here and there, please take a look at the pictures and don’t hesitate to ask for more, I’ve tried to point every cosmetic defect in my photos. With this being said — this 1983 Crumar Spirit is an absolutely stunning, tonally mind-blowing, and creatively mesmerizing synth. There is not much to say that hasn’t been said before. One of Bob Moog’s finest designs, and one of the very rarest. An extremely flexible analog mono synth with 2 VCO’s, a legendary filter section, many features I could cherry-pick through… I encourage you to feel free to reach out with any questions regarding the technical functions of this synth, if you don’t know much about these. I imagine that many of those viewing this listing know precisely what they are looking at.
The Spirit is fully original aside from 4 replaced switches; the original switches will be included in the sale. It is near mint cosmetically, aside from one tiny chip on the back-side corner (see pics) and the aforementioned replaced switches. Truly a sight to behold in person. As I mentioned earlier, the synth could use a calibration and the noise generator is currently non-functioning; but otherwise the Spirit is working 100%. Included in the sale is the original, fitted leather case."
