Waldorf Attack 3: A Classic Reborn! (No Talking Demo)

video upload by Limbic Bits

"In this video, we’re diving into the Waldorf Attack 3 Plugin — Version 3 of that classic Drum Synthesizer PlugIn!"

Attack is back.
And it’s more powerful than ever.
We are proud to unveil Attack 3, the next evolution of one of Waldorf Music’s most iconic and longest-running instruments. A true classic reborn, Attack 3 redefines what a modern percussion synthesizer can be.

At its heart lies a mighty analogue-style synthesis engine, delivering 24 individual sounds per kit, with 12 sounds playable polyphonically as pitched instruments. From punchy kicks to melodic percussion, Attack 3 is built for rhythm that moves both bodies and speakers.

Attack 3 captures the unmistakable spirit of legendary 1980s analogue drum machines and the driving electronic club sound of the 1990s — and propels it boldly into today’s productions. It’s a future-ready instrument designed to shape the drum sounds of the next decade.

Every sound is alive
Every parameter can be tweaked in real time and fully automated in your DAW, inviting hands-on exploration and deep expression. While sampling capabilities have been expanded, Attack stays true to its philosophy: pure synthesis first, allowing you to create unique percussion sounds from scratch.

Redesigned for Faster Drum Creation
With a completely redesigned, scalable interface and a vastly expanded synthesis engine, Attack 3 proves that after more than 25 years, it remains the go-to tool for producers who want total control over their drums.

The new user interface adapts effortlessly to any screen size, while enhanced MIDI Learn lets you define minimum and maximum parameter ranges for expressive performance. Dedicated browsers for kits, sounds, samples, and MIDI mappings keep inspiration flowing without interruption.

Advanced Sample Playback
The oscillator section has been refined for absolute precision, featuring accurate phase control for synthetic waveformsand powerful sample playback options, including user samples, velocity mapping, round-robin playback, and flexible start positions. Whether you want surgical accuracy or organic variation, Attack 3 delivers.

Ambient Layers of Sustained Pads and Tape Piano | Outskirts 2026-02-12 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"This is an ambient electronica piece where sustained tones from the volca fm2 are layered with tape loops and performances on the ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10.

The volca fm2 is routed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOST+FOUND, creating continuous pad textures.

A piano performance is recorded onto a tape loop, played back on a cassette tape player with pitch adjustments. The output is processed through ‪@strymon‬ TIMELINE for delay, with feedback occasionally increased to form dense clusters of sound.

On the Prophet-10, synth pads are performed and processed through blueSky for reverb."

"The M0SS-201 is a west coast synth, which takes some inspiration from the Buchla Easel. This modern monosynth is packed with features that will inspire experimentation into advanced synthesis. It is capable of an incredibly broad spectrum of sounds, and diving in, you might find yourself wondering if the sounds you are creating have ever been heard before by human ears, and the answer may well be no!"

Knif BBD / Modcan videos via Drew Neumann

video upload by GSF AGENCY

"'So I set up this simple patch...' 🎧

While the patch would take a while to describe in great detail, here are the main points. All of the audio in the clip is coming from the Modcan processed through the Knif BBD in realtime. The Moog Subsequent 37 is sending arpeggiated notes, modulation, and pitch wheel to the STG Continuo, which is converting that to control voltage (plus internal LFO) and gate for the modular. The pitch CV is then routed to a Wiard Mini Wave, which imposes various quantized key modes and scales on the pitch. The gate signal is routed to various envelopes, LFO resets, and the Milton Sequencer (upper right) to clock everything together and keep it in sync. Milton is handling several duties including pulse width offsets for the oscillators, CV offsets for the filters, Wiard Mini Wave 2s wavetable select, and trigger outputs for the rhythmic parts. The "voice" is 3 oscillators (one of which is processed through the second Wiard Mini Wave for wavetables) through the Moog 904a filter, 2 more oscillators going to 2 Arp 4075 filters panned hard left and right, 2 oscillators plus ring modulator and spring reverb acting at the "cymbal," white noise and Dark Star Chaos triggered by Milton for additional percussion effects. The Knif BBD is tap-tempo synced to the Moog Subsequent 37's arpeggio clock. From there, everything is messing around with the Knif BBD controls, selecting notes on the Moog, and noodling around on the Modcan's front panel controls.

Cwejman S1 MKII - Sync Overdrive Feedback Study

video upload by verstaerker

"due to popular demand i made another sound-exploration session with the Cwejman S1. This time about a sync-based patch.
It needs quite a bit of finetuning to find a good spot for sync sounds. But i was really surprised how aggressive the S1 can sound if it's combined with it's own overdrive and a touch of feedback.

Yes this session is a bit long... but i think it's worth watching the whole 8 mins if interested in the timbrechanges the S1 offers with small tweaks.

the only external effect added is the some delay/reverb with the Dynacord VRS-23"

Gene GX synth into effects = beautiful lofi atmosphere

video upload by Lo-Fi-Si

"Gene synths Gene GX
Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer

Sending lofi fuzz and crackles into long delay and reverb with some granular sampling. The grains (at +2 octaves) create subtle trails as they feed into the reverb and delay.

I’m using the VCA Decay to adjust the keys from muffled plucks to longer chords.

The raw sounds of the GX are so interesting but I couldn’t resist exploring what happens when sending them into big effects.

To my ears it’s beautiful.

Pitch bends at 2:45"

video upload by Phisynth

"Here’s the Max/MSP interface I’ve built to control the awesome Destiny+ Model Q-2. The amount and variety of sounds you can get out of this little device is totally insane. All sounds are coming from the MQ2, with a little delay/reverb from the Eventide Eclipse. The patch is almost done — I still need to build a proper preset management system…

Djupviks Bunker Archaeology II - First Look.

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Djupviks Elektronik's Bunker Archaeology II is a Eurorack "bunker simulator" - an overdriven digital reverb feeding a frequency-driven tremolo circuit. Inspired by Paul Virilio's photographic documentation of the abandoned Atlantic Wall fortifications, it's lo-fi, grainy, and full of character. The MkII addresses the rough edges of the original: a proper wasp-style filter with resonance and CV control, CV over feedback, a rebuilt static circuit that actually responds across its full range, and a clock output for those irregular rhythms.

This isn't your pristine shimmer reverb. If you want transmissions from a crumbling concrete structure on the Normandy coast, this is the territory.

How to Start Tracks: Fourm + Microcosm into Digitakt 2

video upload by Sineway

"Fourm into Microcosm into Digitakt II – how I built a beat from nothing, faster than I expected.

In this video I build a beat from scratch using a brand-new setup: Sequential Fourm into Hologram Microcosm, captured and shaped on the Digitakt II.

Instead of treating effects as something you add at the end, I’m using the Microcosm as an idea generator - letting it transform a simple init patch into something that suggests harmony, rhythm, and direction very early on.

This is the first time I’ve made a track with this exact setup, and I was honestly surprised by how quickly it led to usable musical ideas.

The goal here isn’t to finish a track. It’s to show how I like to start - how I go from nothing to a beat that feels worth exploring further.

If you’ve ever felt stuck looping the same pattern without knowing where to take it next, this video sets up the foundation for what comes after. I’ll continue from this exact loop in the next video, where I focus on breaking out of the single-loop deadlock and opening things up into multiple patterns and directions."

CROW HILL Introduces Vaults GLASS BEAKER - Free

video upload by CROW HILL

"In this video Theo takes us through the next instalment in our FREE plugin range called Vaults - Beaker. Can a big old bit of glass from a homewares shop really make a beautiful sounding instrument. It can if it's recorded at Gorbals Sound in Glasgow and performed by our founder Christian Henson. A testament to what sampling enables us and you to do, make beautiful sounds and music with nothing more than a bit of imagination and care."

Press release follows:

The Crow Hill Company creates …GLASS BEAKER as latest …VAULTS virtual instrument, free for all to download and make music with no formal training

EDINBURGH, UK: The Crow Hill Company is proud to announce availability of VAULTS - GLASS BEAKER as the latest downloadable drop in its free virtual instrument collection, created from thecnotion that music need not necessarily begin with formal training, specialist instruments, or expensive tools but instead it comes from working directly with sound — specifically, placing a microphone in front of a simple object and exploring what happens through touch, movement, and experimentation, the resulting tone of which feels familiar but resists easy identification, sitting somewhere between a glockenspiel and a celeste without being either — as of February 2…

System Lizard - Iguanamente

video upload by John Schussler

"I'm a sucker for anything with lots of cross modulation. The Iguanamente has that in spades, plus it's got a unique delay built into the audio path that makes for even more craziness.

They say: 'Iguanamente is a chaotic oscillator designed to provide a Eurorack modular synthesizer with a unique and creative sound source that is suitable for percussion, noise, leads, basses, drones, and everything in between.'

Sounds about right.

This is pretty much all just the module. There is some reverb there for space, but that's it.

00:00 Intro
00:20 Main out
06:00 Main + Aux
19:43 Sequence"

This is the first post to feature the Iguanamente!

via Perfect Circuit

The Iguanamente from System Lizard is a chaotic dual oscillator built around a cross modulating oscillator and delay network. Thanks to a keen and comprehensive array of timbre and modulation controls, Iguanamente readily stretches across musical terrain, wagging its reptilian tail between percussion, texture, and melodic applications alike. At the top of the panel, Coarse frequency control sets the fundamental frequency of the system, with dedicated 1V/octave and FM inputs for adjusting frequency via CV. The Radius control manipulates the spread of auxiliary oscillators, allowing for a wide range of inharmonic and harmonic timbral expansion. Shape controls the waveshape of all oscillators, hard clipping into a square wave to the left of center and wavefolding to the right.

These oscillators are then processed through a delay network, with controls for Feedback, delay time or Frequency, and a Mix control. At the bottom of the module, cross modulation controls and CV inputs for oscillator frequency modulation, oscillator amplitude modulation, and delay time allow you to introduce nonlinear modulations into Iguanamente, sparking unique and chaotic changes in timbre. At the top right corner of the module, independent outputs for the Main and Auxiliary oscillators offer independent post processing potential or serve as a pseudo-stereo output. If you're looking for a flexible oscillator with unique character and a taste for chaos, Iguanamente from System Lizard is a righteously fun reptile for any rack.

IGUANAMENTE FEATURES

Chaotic oscillator
Dual oscillator design with integrated delays
Coarse frequency control
FM input and attenuverter control, knob acts as fine pitch control when no FM source connected
Radius control adjusts auxiliary oscillator frequency spread
Shape control clips oscillators into square wave to left, wavefolds to right
Delay for main and aux oscillators with combined Feedback, Frequency, and Mix controls
Cross modulation controls for FM, Delay time, and AM introduces chaotic modulation
Main and Auxiliary outputs

Soft Synths, Warped Drums, and Lo-Fi Tape Textures | Wave and Cradle 2026-02-01 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"This piece was created using ‪@SONICWARE‬ AmbientØ, ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, and tape loops. Soft synth tones drenched in reverb blend with warped drum patterns and lo-fi tape textures, forming an ambient electronica composition.

On AmbientØ, harmonic sequences and single-note patterns are played, with additional synth parts performed live. Built-in reverb is applied, followed by further reverb processing via ‪@strymon‬ blueSky on the output.

The OP-1 field loops sampled drum sounds using the ENDLESS sequencer.

A ‪@WeAreRewind1‬ cassette player plays a tape loop containing a recorded piano performance. The sound is recorded through ‪@HologramElectronics‬ MICROCOSM, with reversed layers added using the PHRASE LOOPER."

The "Easel" Spirit in 3U - A West Coast Eurorack Deep Dive

video upload by Sean Graves

The following is in via Sean Graves, who had the following to say:

"The piece, 'The 'Easel' Spirit in 3U: Rebuilding a Buchla Soul in Eurorack,' documents my five-year journey to replicate the specific workflow and 'soul' of the Buchla Music Easel using a curated Eurorack system."

"This post explores the creative power of 5-step sequencing (the 'migrating downbeat'), the 'origami' of wavefolding via the Verbos Complex Oscillator, and the organic harmonic dampening of vactrol-based Low Pass Gates. It’s a technical yet accessible look at why the West Coast workflow remains the 'holy grail' for performance - based synthesis."

The full write-up follows, with a demonstration of the system in the video above.

The “Easel” Spirit in 3U: Rebuilding a Buchla Soul in Eurorack

The Buchla Music Easel is legendary. It isn’t just a synthesizer. It’s a self-contained performance ecosystem. For many of us, the “Easel” workflow is the holy grail of synthesis. However, instead of chasing original hardware, I’ve spent the past five years rebuilding its specific soul within the Eurorack format. Because everyone deserves a hobby, right?

The Chef vs. The Sculptor
Most East Coast synthesizers work like a sculptor. You start with a massive block of harmonic noise (Sawtooth or Square waves) and carve it away with a filter. The Buchla workflow is different. It’s like being a chef in your own Hell’s Kitchen. You start with basic, “bland” ingredients (sine waves) and spice them up with Frequency Modulation (FM), Amplitude Modulation (AM), your choice, and then fold until the sound sizzles.

My current rig recreates this spirit by focusing on three pillars: Uncertainty, Complex Oscillation, and the iconic Sequential Voltage Source.

Part One: The Modulators (The Brain)
In a true Easel style setup, the Tokyo Tape Music Center 5-Step Sequencer acts as the brain. While most modern sequencers favor 4-8-16-32 steps, the 5-step limitation is actually a creative superpower.
