FAT Freebass FB383 analogue synth tutorial, review, sound demos: is this a good Roland TB-303 clone?

"I've been really liking the FAT Freebass FB383 analogue TB303 clone again (even if staying in tune is more of an aspiration than guarantee with this thing). It’s fully analogue and the filter does all the good self oscillating squelchy things you want from a 303 even if it does lack a sequencer (slides and accents can be triggered with MIDI). Some sources claim it's a fairly faithful clone of a TB-303, not sure how valid that is though. For those outside the UK wondering, this synth is just a MAM MB33 with a different paint job. You can also feed audio into this synth and use it as a MIDI triggered enveloped / gated filter, which is kinda cool! Had this set up recently for some acid parts (ofc) and it’s been fun using this synth again so I thought I'd make a video on it - hope you enjoy :)

U-He Zebra 3: 50 Bass Presets. Sound Demo. Live Jam

"🎸 'Bass Elements' is a collection of 50 bass presets for U-He Zebra 3.
The patches cover a variety of bass tones: analog and digital, warm and metallic, deep and bright, soft and punchy, long and short, static and rhythmical.
All sounds are very dynamic: they have Velocity and ModWheel assignments.

🎛 Each patch includes 4 Macros controlling brightness, movement, envelope, modulation depth and rate, noise, distortion, and other parameters.
ModWheel opens the sound and adds harmonic content.

Technical Info – How to Import Presets
Open the Zebra plugin.
Go to the Presets tab.
On the left panel, find the User folder.
Drag and drop the folder the presets folder from your computer into the User folder inside Zebra.
Restart the plugin or refresh the presets list if needed.
The presets should now appear under User in the Zebra browser.
Make sure you are using the latest vst-plugin version.

I added drums and pads to the demo for musical context. They are not included in the soundset. The melodies/patterns are also not part of the collection—it contains only timbres/presets."

How Honeysmack jams live techno — 303, 808, modular & more

"David Haberfeld — better known as Honeysmack — is a live techno improviser. That means the tracks in his sets are built and arranged in real time in front of an audience rather than pre-sequenced in a DAW. In this studio tour he walks through the hardware he performs with and puts a track together from scratch on the spot.

The rig spans vintage and modern boxes: the Roland TB-303 (the synth-with-a-sequencer that anchors a lot of his sound), Roland's TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines, a Mackie 16-channel mixer, a DJ mixer he's come to use as a performance instrument, Behringer's RD-8 MKII and RD-9 (clones of the 808 and 909, both of which he beta tested), the Behringer Syncussion SY1, a Pro-1 synth and a modular system. Along the way he gets into why the 808 and 909 ended up defining whole genres — and argues it had less to do with how they sounded and more to do with what was simply available at the time.

Решил начать серию роликов в которых я показываю как накручивать наикрутейший звук на синтезаторах, в данном ролике это D16 Phoscyon 2 на котором я создал новый банк ACID & Trance звуков.
Те кто помнит треки Kai Tracid - и его тему с ACID & Trance поймут. И кстати не будет секретом если я скажу что я прямо с видео Кая стянул пару его мелодий и немного переделал так чтоб не нарушались права)
Но добавлю - я ему(Kai Tracid) бесплатно отправил порядка 300 ACID секвенция в свое время за его комментарий к себе на сайт и знаете что? Он отморозился, как-то делает большинство западных известных диджей и делали всегда. Я не обиделся а просто для себя сделал выводы как он человек, которого я еще малым уважал.
В общем если по теме - я в ролике сделал два звука с секвенциями и вы можете использовать это в своем музыка-производстве, чтоб сделать крутую ACID штуку.
В любом случае спасибо что посмотрели, любым адекватным отзывам конечно же буду рад и пишите понравился ли вам формат.

"Never tried the OTO-Biscuit on the Roland TB-303.

Probably nothing for everybody's taste, but I really like it a lot:
Somewhere between crunchy Lo-Fi sounds and distortion.
Combined with the analog filter, it adds so much more versatility to a 303.

For me Biscuit is one my favorite FX of all time - something I didn't even know that it exists.

It's a gear demo - not a regular acid track ;-)

Recorded in a single take on 1010-BlueBox (delay and reverb added here)."

LEDROVER: ANALOG STEREO DISTORTION

The LedRover is a 100% analog stereo diode-based distortion effect from MOE. It originated from our quest for the ultimate distortion effect for the TB-303, finalized after a year of experiments with various components including diodes,

LEDs, germanium, and custom potentiometers. The inspiration for the circuit came from a famous filter resonance design that we discovered uses diodes in the feedback loop, which creates a round sound with a distortion tone that can be aggressive while remaining musical and preserving the character of the original signal. Based on this, we designed two distortion modes for the LedRover using different diode placements. Following extensive calibration for synthesizers and drum machines, we have ensured the effect is suitable for a wide range of applications—from kicks and snares to cymbals, bass, and leads—offering everything from delicate warmth to extreme distortion.

The integrated Tilt filter was born from our understanding that filtering before overdrive is essential for emphasizing frequencies pleasant to the ear. Unlike standard Tilt filters that typically offer a 6dB/Octave slope, we designed the LedRover with a steeper 15dB/Octave slope for both low and high frequency ranges. This ensures the signal enters the distortion with high saturation, allowing the circuit to mangle the sound even further. We selected the reference point for the filter through trial and error across a variety of gear to emphasize mid-range frequencies rather than just extreme highs, providing a flattering response for the distortion circuit.

Additionally, we added an x10 Boost button to push instruments with weak outputs hard into the Tilt filter. This creates distortion right at the entrance of the filter, which can be controlled delicately with the input knob; as you attenuate the input volume, the action of the filter becomes significantly more pronounced, while higher values create a unique op-amp saturation that works in perfect synergy with the diode overdrive. We build the LedRover to the highest standards of reliability and feel, housed in a custom aluminum box with resilient UV-printing and custom potentiometers.
