"Sound bank notes

In my opinion, the Murmux Adept is a modern classic among synthesizers. It oozes quality and depth with a vintage analog sound and a strong personality. The oscillators, filters and analog stereo bucket brigade delay (BBD) interact to create a rich palette of timbres, with an inclination towards dark ambient textures.

It excels at ambient pads, textures and atmospheres so I have exploited this in many of my patches. I have also created more conventional sounds such as strings and brass which sing with power and majesty – rivalling those of the Sequential Prophet 5. Lead sounds are another strength of the Murmux, so you will find many within the bank ranging from pure triangles and sines through to aggressive and expressive saws.

Although the Murmux looks like a very simple synth - lacking complex features like a modulation matrix, in fact it is possible to create many layers of modulation simultaneously. You can for instance, assign velocity (how hard you press the keys) to modulate envelope times while also morphing between waveforms in both oscillators and using aftertouch to control filter cutoff and resonance. In this sound bank I have used modulation comprehensively and all patches have parameters assigned to the mod wheel as well as aftertouch and/ or velocity to maximise the expressiveness of the sounds.

The delay is a big feature of this synth so I have used it a lot, although you will also find traditional analog synth patches with no effects at all. The BBD resonator and ensemble modes are powerful, yet I have tended to use them for subtle modulation to thicken sounds or to create gentle flanging.

Tempest :アナログの咆哮とリズムの肉体性(2022.03.20) from X

video upload by Suzuki Ryo

*Beyond a drum machine: A record of the Tempest as a true 'instrument.'*

Despite its notorious OS instability and the inherent temperamental nature of its analog circuitry, there is a distinct tension in this archive—the feeling of wrestling with the machine to weave a sonic narrative.

The visceral 'stickiness' of the low-end when the filters are tightened, and the organic tonal shifts driven by the sliders, produce a raw, physical resonance that digital synthesis can never truly replicate.

I’m surprised and deeply encouraged to see so many people taking the time to explore my past archives recently. I hope this video reaches those who appreciate the subtle, living textures of sound."

Live Electronic Performance Analog Synth Jam Push 3, Prophet Rev2 #push3 #prophetrev2 #bassstation2

video upload by ASLAA Link Music

"A live electronic performance built using Push 3 as the central instrument to trigger and evolve scenes in real time.

In this session, I explore a flexible structure where each scene represents a different stage of the track — shaped live through dynamics, tension, and space.

🎹 Gear used:

Sequential Prophet Rev2: expressive evolving lead + ZOOM Multi Stomp (Effect pedal)
Novation Bass Station II: analog bass line & repetitive patterns
Splice: additional bass texture
Push 3: scene launching, variations, and live performance control

🎧 A hybrid approach between:

improvisation
live arrangement
electronic instrumental performance

The idea is to let the track breathe, shape textures in real time, and build a sonic narrative as it unfolds.

👉 Headphones recommended for full low-end and detail.

Thanks for listening 🙏"

Audio Rate Modulation on a Prophet 6 Analog Synth

video upload by The Worship Keys

Catch the full episode with Marcus Wiles:

EP #106: Prophet 6 Hardware Synth Rig with Marcus Wiles #prophet6 #worshipkeys

video upload by The Worship Keys

"This episode focuses on synthesizers with a deep dive on Marcus Wiles’ Sequential Prophet-6, while also thanking sponsor Aerospace Audio and highlighting their Arrow Pads app and Atmosphere Pads pedal features, sound packs, pricing, and routing ideas with Ableton. Marcus explains why he chose the Prophet-6, how its simplicity and poly mod section shaped his synth programming, and why hardware can feel more like an instrument. He demonstrates practical sound-design concepts that translate to any synth or Omni sphere, including using unison and stereo spread versus chorus, preparing patches for mono or stereo systems, shaping sounds with envelopes to turn a basic patch into bass, plucks, brass, and an 808-style sound, adding texture with audio-rate modulation and effects (including distortion after reverb), and using the Prophet-6 sequencer for writing inspiration. The episode ends with a call for viewers to submit their own key rigs and a teaser for the next episode on the Nord Stage 4."

Analog Synth and Rhodes Ambient Piece | Nusery Rhyme 2026-04-08 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"A piece created with Rhodes MKII, Prophet-10, and ARP ODYSSEY.

On the Prophet-10, a synth pad is performed with reverb applied using blueSky.

On the Rhodes MKII, chorus from the CE-5 and delay from the DD-6 are applied.

On the ARP ODYSSEY, the signal runs through LOST+FOUND with reverb and tape style effects.

The harmony is mainly played on the Rhodes MKII, while the ODYSSEY and Prophet-10 handle the melody."

Playing the Prophet through the most beautiful delay

video upload by Julian "J3PO" Pollack

"I am borrowing the Knif Audio BBD and it's truly the holy grail of bucket brigade delay units. There are only a handful of them in existence, and I'm lucky to get to use it in my studio for a while. The Prophet 10 was an obvious choice to pair with the Knif BBD. I've been getting to know the Knif BBD and decided to record a 10-minute improvisation for you to be able to hear how beautiful these sounds are. Hope you enjoy. Endless inspiration with these two instruments. They are not only beautiful sounding, but beautiful looking and feeling as well."

APHEX TWIN - Pulsewidth COVER (Elektron Digitakt2, Roland SH01a, Prophet REV2)

video upload by nicola neeco

"Recreating Aphex Twin’s “Pulsewidth” using modern hardware synths: the Elektron Digitakt II, Roland SH-01A, and Sequential Prophet Rev2.

This is my cover version of one of the most iconic tracks from Selected Ambient Works 85–92, carefully crafted to capture its hypnotic pulse and raw analog character.

To rebuild the drum section true to the original, I used Roland R-8 drum samples (the same machine Aphex Twin used) loaded into the Digitakt II, and programmed its sequencer for the rhythmic patterns.
And for the iconic melody the same sample Aphex used: the first seconds of the track Butterfly Holocaust by Neutron 9000."

"This collection of vintage synthesizers has grown with me for years. Most all of these instruments have been used on many projects, including VeggieTales, a variety of remixes, and many PlayStation video games and marketing and promotional discs. Most recently they were used on the Mass Effect Andromeda video games soundtrack. They have also been sampled and are part of the SoundVault Collection and the Kurzweil Analog Collection for the K2000 series samplers.
VEMIA note: to forestall many inquiries, The seller’s idea is that he wants to sell it as a whole. That may or may not work out in this auction. If it doesn’t, obviously he’ll be free to do whatever he wants after the auction finishes.

It all works. Everything has been kept in a clean, smoke-free, climate-controlled studio. I have always fixed things myself, so everything is operational and sounding great. I have repair notes on the synths that received attention, though most of them have worked great over the years, without much need for repairs. There are also several MIDI to CV converters so they can all be controlled by computer, plus cables if desired. And a few have cases and manuals.

ARP 2600 with lid but no keyboard. Pictured with broken slider and missing caps, but I believe I have them. ARP Odyssey (White) ARP Odyssey (Black & Gold) ARP Odyssey (Black & Orange) ARP Avatar (Original with pickup) (No original knobs, but early rubber caps if you want) ARP Avatar (CMS modded with patchpoints, filter, and envelope) (No original knobs, but early rubber caps if you want)

"Creamware pro-12 asb hardware synth desktop in very good condition. these are of course the analog modeling emulation of the classic prophet 5 and pretty overlooked. its sounds absolutely amazing and a bit of a surprise it comes way closer to the prophet 5 than any other synth at the fraction of the price. i would say 75 percent pure prophet 5 and 25 percent va . this example is in very good condition and comes with a brandnew powersupply . it has only very few marks for its age check pics i have the original box but its very old so im still gonna put yet another box arround it to sending they can be a bit buggy but this one plays very nice nothing i noticed also smooth encoders and no stepping atall in case someone wants to upgrade the firmware i can supply the all important unit code relating to the serial number . its essentail for the upgrade . though i was told this unit propably has the latest firmware anyway as the last one was released in 2016 . reason for sale i got a prophet 10 dekstop at 5 times the price of this lol synth can be picked up in south london or brighton or send insured thanks"

"Extremely rare outside Japan - apparently Moridaira / Denki Sangyo, the firm SCI employed to make the Six-Trak, decided to make a few changes to that design and re-market it as the Pro-8 in Japan. Five octaves instead of four, eight voices instead of six, and split instead of multi-timbral. SCI then eventually made a couple more changes, and introduced it as the Split-8 in the rest of the world.

This, like all Pro-8s, started out as 100V Japanese power, but has been converted to 240V.

Lots of little points of interest: for instance, this one has a Denki maker label but also a Sequential Circuits one. They both call it Model 608, and SCI have a serial number:02033. 608 presumably because the design was changed from six to eight voices?

It's not a Prophet-5 for sure.... but if you like the Six-Trak sound you'll like this a lot. And it's rare as anything :) Plus it's probably the only synth in the world to have a scribble-strip matrix for entering your program sound names. The matrix looks unused.

Packing 18GBP."

Sequential FOURM vs Prophet 5

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Is the Sequential FOURM effectively a "Prophet 4"? In this deep-dive comparison, I put Sequential’s compact powerhouse up against the legendary Prophet 5 to see how closely it recreates that iconic vintage DNA.

While the FORUM shares a strikingly intuitive Prophet-style interface—complete with dual oscillators, a resonant low-pass filter, and a dedicated polymod section—it also brings modern innovations to the table that the original Prophet simply can’t match.

We’ll explore the sonic character of the FORUM’s SSI chips, which act as modern recreations of the warm, fuzzy SSM chips found in the original Prophet 5 Rev 1 and Rev 2. By recreating classic factory patches side-by-side, we reveal the subtle differences in envelope behavior and modulation flexibility between these two analog beasts.

🎹 What’s Covered:
• The "Prophet 4" Factor: Comparing the interface, layout, and "familiar" feel of both synths.
• SSI vs. SSM vs. Curtis: Breaking down the filter and oscillator chips that define their warmth and grit.
• Modern Upgrades: Exploring the FORUM’s Poly Aftertouch, built-in arpeggiator, and digital clock sync.
• The Feedback Circuit: A demo of the FORUM's unique feedback loop that adds "MiniMoog-style" grit and prevents bass loss at high resonance—something the Prophet 5 famously struggles with.
• Patch Recreation: A side-by-side listening test of 8 classic patches to hear the real-world sonic differences.

"Great and powerfull analog synth from 70's This one is in excellent cosmetic conditions (I am the 2nd owner and always kept in free-smoked studio as the 1st owner too) the Pro-One can generate many of the same sounds as the Prophet-5 and Prophet-10, capable of supremely punchy bass lines and distinctly ripping leads, fueled by two VCOs, referred to as Oscillator A and Oscillator B. he Pro-One has extensive modulation provision with three modulation sources available, featuring Filter Envelope Generator, Oscillator B, and a separate LFO. Each can be mixed and routed for either Direct or Wheel-controlled modulation. On the back of the unit, there are Audio, Filter CV, Gate/CLK, and CV inputs. Other features include a 40-note sequencer, an arpeggiator, Pitch and Mod wheels, Repeat and Drone switch, Single and Multiple-triggering keyboard modes, and the unique Automatic Glide, enabling one-handed complex, 'tuned' pitch bending sounds."

Starsky Carr's Studio: Vintage & Modern Synth Setup Explained

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Welcome to a full synth studio tour — a look inside my hardware setup featuring vintage analog synths, modern wavetable instruments, modular gear and classic drum machines.

See how a mix of vintage synths, modern instruments, modular gear and drum machines all come together in one integrated setup. In this video I walk through the studio, explain how everything is connected, and show some of the instruments that regularly appear on the channel.

The studio is constantly evolving as new synths arrive, others get repaired, and different setups are tested for videos. In this walkthrough you'll see how classic gear like the Juno-60, Prophet series, Minimoog, TR-808, TR-909 and Jupiter synths sit alongside modern instruments such as the UDO Super 8, Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, Waldorf M, Arturia PolyBrute and Roland System-8.

I also explain how everything is routed through the studio — from CV-controlled vintage synths integrated with MIDI, to the AudioFuse interface and Neve summing mixer that handle the audio side of things.

If you've ever wondered how to organise a hardware synth studio, integrate vintage CV instruments with modern DAWs, or just want to see a room full of iconic synths and drum machines, this video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the setup behind the channel.

You’ll also hear a few stories along the way — including the slightly ridiculous “six degrees of separation” link from my studio gear to Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon through the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels soundtrack.

Whether you're into analog synthesis, wavetable synths, modular gear, or classic drum machines, this studio tour is packed with gear, ideas and inspiration.
