We want to continue strengthening the community of artists and creatives, who, together, make a valuable contribution to Italian and international music production everyday.'
"In this dawless jam, I wanted to experiment with the Ableton Move as the master clock, syncing the Arturia DrumBrute Impact using nothing but a single USB cable.
Actually the setup worked quite well throughout the session, even if the clock jitter is really visible on the DrumBrute Impact's tempo display.
The rhythmic foundation comes mainly from the DrumBrute Impact and its internal sequencer, while all melodic content (bass & pads) comes from the Ableton Move.
For this jam, I used four 'Audio Tracks' on the Move, loaded with loops and sequences that I originally recorded years ago in my DAW using software synthesizers such as Reveal Sound Spire, Arturia Spark... It was interesting to give these older recordings a new life inside a hardware-focused workflow 😊
If you're using an Ableton Move with external hardware, I'd be curious to hear about your experience using it as a master clock 😉

"Across five decades of music, film, television, games, and visual art, Mark Mothersbaugh, co-founder of DEVO, has continually expanded the possibilities of sound.
We visited him at Mutato Muzika to explore the analog archive and sonic curiosity behind his work, and to discover how Memory V channels the colossal character of the Memorymoog into a modern creative workflow."

"A piano and synth cover of 'The Process' by the legendary Boards of Canada, from their incredible new album, 'Inferno'.
I've been captivated by the 'Inferno' album since its release and wanted to share my interpretation of this beautifully soothing and melancholic track. If you enjoy this, let me know in the comments! I'm planning to cover more from the album soon, with 'Naraka,' 'Hydrogen Helium Lithium Leviathan,' and 'Blood in the Labyrinth' being next on my list.
"Testing the new Arturia Memory V, which is the Moog Memorymoog emulation! All sounds are coming from a few instances of this synth, controlled via a split keyboard on my MiniBrute 2 (and using the mod wheel to tweak parameters live). Hope you find it interesting! 🤘🏻"
"Been playing with @ArturiaOfficial Memory V in @bitwig Studio 6 for a couple of hours and I’m already hooked. I think it sounds absolutely massive. Arturia really nailed that “six Minimoogs in one” vibe while adding modern workflow features that make it way more usable for modern day production.

"Wield phenomenal power with Memory V, Arturia’s definitive software reimagining of the legendary Memorymoog. A titanic, front-of-mix analog instrument built for commanding leads, bold brass, and true polyphonic depth — delivering unmistakable vintage weight with modern stability and control. Harness the raw, expressive character of a true analog classic, reborn for today’s production workflows.
Memory V captures the colossal analog character and triple-oscillator architecture of one of the rarest polyphonic synthesizers ever made, recreated with Arturia’s advanced TAE® technology and expanded with modern modulation, arpeggiation, effects and expressive workflow integration.
From towering brass and dense basses to evolving leads, cinematic pads and unstable analog textures, Memory V delivers the unmistakable weight of early-80s polyphonic synthesis in a reliable, production-ready instrument.
_A true Analog Titan
Memory V honors the architecture that defined an era of polyphonic synthesis, and adds the tools you need to push it further.
Best-in class recreation
Discover the weight, movement and edge of the original hardware, preserved through component-accurate TAE® modelling of its oscillators, filter, mixer, drive and analog non-linearities.
Triple-oscillator architecture
Three free-running oscillators per voice deliver the harmonic depth that set the Memorymoog apart. Stack Square, Ramp and Triangle waveforms, shape pulse width and sync oscillators for rich, animated sounds
Legendary ladder filter
Shape sound with a modelled low-pass ladder filter per voice, complete with 24 dB and 12 dB modes, self-oscillation and Bass Compensation to preserve low-end weight at higher resonance.
Authentic analog feel
Use Vintage and Dispersion controls to introduce continuous analog drift, then fine-tune variation across pitch, pulse width, levels, cutoff, emphasis, modulation and envelope times.
Modern modulation and FX
Drag-and-drop modulation, a four-layer Multi-Arp and a 4-slot FX rack with 17+ studio-grade effects bring contemporary sound design into the legendary Memorymoog architecture.
300+ mix-ready presets
Explore a curated library of dense, front-of-mix sounds spanning vintage brass, saturated basses, cinematic pads, evolving textures, expressive leads and modern electronic tones.
Memory V: introductory offer
To celebrate the launch, eligible Arturia users can unlock a limited-time introductory offer on Memory V and selected bundle options."
There's an aesthetic trend in modern effects, especially in ambience effects like reverb and delay, which points towards embracing and accentuating digital imperfection.
It turns out that the glitching, aliasing, distortion and noise that engineers traditionally worked so hard to dial out of gear actually sounds pretty amazing when used creatively and intentionally.
Many FX companies have really embraced this way of working, adding controls to their effects which allow musicians to digitally degrade the sound in wonderful ways - intentionally circuit bending their instruments by design.
Another way, though, to achieve these sounds might be to buy an old, cheap reverb from ebay and circuit bend it. This electronic abuse, forces the unit into leaning into these artifacts whether it wants to or not! The results may be more chaotic, but they might also be even more fun and potentially more affordable.
