Jynth - v2.0 Update
video upload by Fingerlab
"Meet Jynth, the new synth by Fingerlab for iPhone, iPad and Mac — the warm, analog soul of the iconic Roland Juno-106, reimagined with a groundbreaking Physics Engine for organic, living sound.
Designed for leads, basses, keys & pads, Jynth delivers that classic vintage character you love — housed in a meticulously crafted, photo-realistic interface that looks as good as it sounds. Get it now for free on the App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/jynth-p...
Jynth v2.0 update introduces two unique new feature: Preset Per Note & Preset Ribbon, inspired by the music of Aphex Twin.
Preset Per Note allows you to assign a different preset to each key of the piano keyboard, so that every note you play triggers not only a different pitch, but an entirely different sound — a new timbre, a new texture, a new character. Preset Ribbon allows you to select a collection of presets and glide between them in real time, simply by sliding your finger across the ribbon.
Shape your sound with a full analog-style signal chain:
From the dual oscillators and resonant VCF filter to the ADSR envelope, LFO and built-in arpeggiator — every parameter has been carefully tuned to feel as musical as it sounds.
Go further with 5 studio-grade effects:
Tremolo, Flanger, Chorus, Delay & Reverb — stack them to build rich, evolving textures and cinematic soundscapes.

Beautiful Meltdowns | A Live Benjolin Exploration (feat. Bien Jolie ! & Starlight Echo Station)
video upload by Andre Bregegere
"Running Rob Hordijk's chaotic Benjolin architecture through lush, vintage stereo delays.
In this session, I explore the interaction between the Glou-Glou Bien Jolie! and the Universal Audio UAFX Starlight Echo Station.
The Bien Jolie! serves as the generative core of the performance, utilizing its interacting analog VCOs, XOR logic, and Rungler shift register to create highly unpredictable, cross-modulated textures. To capture and reshape these chaotic voltages, the stereo output is routed directly into the Starlight Echo Station, utilizing its various vintage echo-emulation engines (Tape EP-III / Analog DMM / Precision) to add depth, space, and rhythmic structural movement to the evolving patterns. I also added a filter (High and Low pass, patched between the Bien Jolie! and the Starlight) to tame extreme frequencies.
This performance was captured entirely live and is presented mostly unedited. The recording was then lightly mixed and mastered in Pro Tools.
🎧 Listening Note:
Because this setup relies heavily on wide stereo imaging, ping-pong delay repetitions, and complex analog filter modulation, headphones or studio monitors are highly recommended for the best listening experience."

Exploring the Chromaplane: Live Improv, Tuning Screws, & External Drones
video upload by Andre Bregegere
"A live, fully improvised performance exploring the unique architecture of the Koma Elektronik Chromaplane. This session is a deeper dive into the instrument's hands-on playability—including on-the-fly tuning—and external input processing.
On-screen captions are included in the first half to break down the basics of the instrument and explain exactly what is happening under the hood.
Performance Breakdown:
• The Core: Sound generation starts with the Chromaplane, interacting directly with its electromagnetic fields.
• On-The-Fly Tuning: Watch as I use the tuning screws mid-performance to shift pitches and reshape the harmonic foundation in real-time.
• The Expansion: In the final act, things get heavier as I introduce an external input—the gritty, texture-rich Triad drone/noise synth by DecadeBridge.
• The Space: The entire mix is processed through the Universal Audio UAFX Starlight Echo Station to pull the mono signal into an immersive, wide stereo space.
The performance was recorded live, then lightly mixed and mastered in Pro Tools.

video upload by Andre Bregegere
"Exploring the unique sonic world of the Ellitone Fn_block series. In this video, I take an improvised dive into the Fn_block01 Polysynth and the Fn_block02 Notepad, running them through the lush, expansive algorithms of the UAFX Golden Reverberator.
The video begins with extensive annotations detailing the architecture of these two unique devices. The performance itself was recorded live as a single take to capture the raw, semi-modular character of the Ellitone hardware.
Recorded live from the Golden Reverberator output on one stereo track, then lightly mixed and mastered in Pro Tools.
GEAR:
• Ellitone Fn_block01 Polysynth: A mini, highly minimalist 8-bit digital synthesizer featuring 4-voice polyphony, 25 waveforms, and 6 preset amplitude envelopes. Instead of traditional knobs, it utilizes touch plates for control and features a unique semi-modular architecture that allows for physical patching using crocodile clips on its hardware spacers.

Roland Future Design Lab and Neutone Advance Project LYDIA with Phase 2
video upload by matrixsynth

Press release follows:
AI‑powered neural sampling evolves into a more integrated, performance‑ready hardware concept, debuting at Superbooth Berlin
Berlin, Germany, May 7, 2026 — Roland Future Design Lab (Superbooth B023 & B026), the forward‑looking research division of Roland Corporation, and Tokyo-based AI music technology company Neutone today announced Project LYDIA Phase 2, a refined evolution of their experimental AI‑powered neural sampling pedal concept. Shaped by months of direct feedback from musicians, developers, and live performers, Phase 2 moves the project closer to a fully self‑contained, performance‑ready hardware platform.
Project LYDIA Phase 2 builds on the technology preview first unveiled in November 2025 and will make its public debut at Superbooth Berlin (May 7–9), offering attendees hands‑on access to the latest iteration.
Phase 2: Integrated, Performance‑Ready, and More Expressive
Responding directly to feedback gathered through live demos, industry showcases, and global surveys, Project LYDIA Phase 2 introduces several key hardware enhancements:
Refined hardware design with enhanced flexibility, supporting easier Raspberry Pi 5 installation and standalone USB MIDI controller operation
Fully integrated audio I/O, eliminating the need for an external USB audio interface
Onboard LCD display for clearer navigation and real‑time parameter feedback
User Preset memories for saving control settings and more
MIDI connectivity for deeper control, automation, and integration with existing studio and live rigs
A Feedback‑Led Approach to AI Hardware Design
Roland Future Design Lab partnered with Neutone to introduce Project LYDIA as an open, public‑facing experiment: exploring how neural sampling could be embodied in a tactile, musician‑centered hardware format. The initial prototype quickly generated strong interest from many corners, prompting extensive dialogue about workflow, control, and musical expressiveness.
“From the very first demos with professional audio developers through the overwhelming response from musicians worldwide, it was clear that Project LYDIA was resonating,” said Paul McCabe, LA‑based leader of Roland Future Design Lab. “That dialogue directly shaped Phase 2. This version reflects what creators told us they want from AI hardware in real musical contexts, while also bringing forward new ideas from our team.”
Rather than positioning AI as a replacement for musicianship, Project LYDIA emphasizes augmentation and control, allowing performers to interact with neural models in immediate, physical, and musically expressive ways. The familiar pedal format places AI processing into a workflow many musicians already trust, bringing transparency and tactility to technology often associated with screens and abstraction.
This feedback‑driven development aligns with Roland’s broader commitment to responsible AI innovation, as outlined by AI For Music, the initiative co‑founded by Roland and Universal Music Group to establish ethical principles for AI use in music creation.
Debuting at Superbooth and Beyond
Project LYDIA Phase 2 will debut publicly at Superbooth Berlin, followed by appearances at Audio Developers Conference Tokyo in early June and select additional events throughout 2026. RFDL and Neutone will continue gathering insights from creators both in person and online to inform future iterations of the project.
Music creators interested in learning more or contributing feedback can participate in a new survey here.

Audio Computer Interview London Synth and Pedal Expo 2026
video upload by Take the Fear out the Gear
"Hi everybody this time we bring you the Audio.Computer Interview at the London Synth and Pedal Expo 2026 talking about the beat friend drum machine
Beat Friend is the first offering from audio.computer, a UK-based duo making ‘benevolent, semi-autonomous music machines’. Beat Friend is an analogue drum machine, using circuits based on the ‘twin-t’s from the legendary Roland CR-78. Each drum has a slider that changes the drum’s complexity within one of the 30+ preset patterns, which already allows hundreds of variations on any given beat.
But wait! There’s more! Turning the Enthusiasm knob allows Beat Friend to add or subtract notes from the pattern as it sees fit, either keeping the pulse of the pattern or going completely off piste. It's like having an enthusiastic robot Labrador playing a 70's electronic drum kit just for you.
All the sounds are routed through a Triforce of digital and analogue effects, which...well, you just have to turn knobs to find out what they do. If you’ve ever wanted to base a track on a 7/8 samba through a bit-and sample crusher, then this is the unit for you.
And, sure, if you’re a control freak who absolutely must design every bar, you can control the drums individually via MIDI. It even includes a letterpress-printed manual, numbered to match your unit.
Beat Friend plays in glorious mono and is powered by a universal 12V power supply (included in the box)."

Melbourne Instruments announces advanced Logic Pro integration for ROTO-CONTROL
video upload by Melbourne Instruments
Roto-Control (Review): A Logic Pro Controller I Actually Want to Use
video upload by Why Logic Pro Rules
"I was skeptical when @melbourneinstruments sent me Roto-Control for Logic Pro. I've owned plenty of MIDI controllers that ended up collecting dust. But after using this for the past month, I actually reach for it.
What makes it different? Eight fully motorized control knobs with haptic feedback that adapt to whatever you're focused on in Logic Pro. You don't just see parameters change on screen - you FEEL them. End stops on a filter cutoff, notches on discrete values, center indents for faders, pans, and more.
In this review, I walk through the Logic Pro integration, the haptic feedback system, and what it's actually like to use day-to-day. I also cover the real limitations - manual plugin mapping and limited storage - that you need to know before buying."
Press release follows:
Melbourne Instruments announces advanced Logic Pro integration for ROTO-CONTROL motorised software and hardware MIDI controller
MELBOURNE, VIC, AUSTRALIA: Melbourne Instruments is proud to announce availability of advanced Logic Pro integration for its ROTO-CONTROL motorised software and hardware MIDI controller — creatively expanding upon its successful integration with Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio, demand for integration with Apple’s popular professional DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for Mac having been strong since said controller launched to widespread critical acclaim a year ago — as of January 15, 2026…
ROTO-CONTROL readily packs eight touch-sensitive motorised knobs — brushless drone motors with Melbourne Instruments’ patented ultra-high-resolution contactless optical sensors offering a lifetime rating in excess of 50 million cycles that equates to 500 times more than conventional pots, precisely — alongside nine high-resolution IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCDs (Liquid Crystal Displays) and 16 backlit RGB (Red, Green, Blue) LED (Light-Emitting Diode) buttons into its classy, compact — 341mm/13.4” (W) x 112mm/4.4” (D) x 44mm/1.7” (H) — form factor to duly deliver haptic feedback and instant parameter recall, communicating with the outside world via MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) over USB (Universal Serial Bus) and 5-pin MIDI DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) IN/OUT/THRU connections. Constructed out of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and metal, it robustly weighs in at only 715g/1.58lb, making it the perfect portable production partner for encouraging artists to use sound and music in new and exciting ways — wherever their journey might end up taking them, both creatively and geographically. Get this, though: ROTO-CONTROL now introduces a fully-tactile, motorised workflow to Logic Pro, delivering fast, hands-on control of tracks, plug-ins, Smart Controls, and automation — all thanks to a new firmware update.
MIX mode mirrors Logic Pro’s session track names, colours, and order automatically, while providing high-resolution control of volume, pan, sends, and automation alongside instant access to track selection, paging, mute/solo/arm switching, and dedicated TRACK FOCUS.
Fast, powerful plug-in control comes courtesy of PLUGIN mode, allowing users to browse and select Logic Pro instrument and effect plug-ins instantly from ROTO-CONTROL using simple touch-and-learn mapping for any parameter, with up to eight pages of controls per plug-in stored directly on the device ready for any projects, plus bypass/select controls — all mappings being saved on ROTO-CONTROL and usable across all Logic Pro projects on any computer.
Cutting-edge control continues with Logic Pro’s Smart Controls being automatically mapped to ROTO-CONTROL, controlling up to 16 Smart Control parameters instantly — perfect for working with instruments, macros, and MIDI effects, available in both PLUGIN mode and the dedicated SMART mode itself.
And as if all that was not enough to be getting on with, ROTO-CONTROL can be used to customise labels, colours, haptics, and steps for each control, while integrated transport — play, stop, record, cycle, auto-punch, and playhead — controls are all accessible from any mode.
It is fair to say, then, that Logic Pro users owe it to themselves — and, ultimately, their sound and music — to consider making some space in their creative and physical world for ROTO-CONTROL. After all, motorised and morphing controls, instant recall, and intuitive hardware are only the beginning of their journeying.
ROTO-CONTROL is available to buy at its new North American price of $399.00 USD (excluding tax) in the USA and Canada, while its RRP (Recommended Retail Price) in Australia of $619.00 AU (including GST) and MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) in the EU of €372.35 EUR (excluding VAT), MSRP in Japan/Asia of $469.00 USD, and MSRP in the UK of £389.00 GBP remains unchanged — all via Melbourne Instruments’ growing global network of dealers here: https://www.melbourneinstruments.com/dealers [check with dealers on the right here on MATRIXSYNTH]

The Fancyyyyy K-Accumulator - A Complex Oscillator Made of Complex Oscillators 👽
K-ACCUMULATOR - 21st Century Complex Oscillator video upload by Fancyyyyy Synthesis
Note, this appears to be the first Fancyyyyy post on the site. :)
Currently exclusive to Perfect Circuit

"The Fancyyyyy K-Accumulator is a revolutionary stereo complex oscillator that combines cutting-edge synthesis techniques in an intuitive, hands-on architecture inspired by classic complex oscillators. Designed in collaboration with Grrrwaaa aka Graham Wakefield, creator of Max/MSP's gen~ platform, fans of experimental timbres and novel synthesis techniques are right to celebrate K-Accumulator's emergence into the Eurorack landscape. Seamlessly combining pulsar synthesis, phase modulation, and complex 3D waveshaping, K-Accumulator pairs its modulation and carrier oscillator pairs with an onboard function generator, pattern generator, and flexible root frequency quantization and manipulation, providing fruitful terrain for exploring captivating timbres in systems of any size.
Starting from a core sine and cosine wave, K-Accumulator provides an innovative morphing matrix architecture which progressively remaps panel controls to waveshaping positions for the carrier and modulator oscillator section. Expand tones with complex harmonic wavefolding, blended frequency shifting, and harmonic stretching. Shape tones into newly mangled forms with formant synthesis, sync damping, and asymmetric phase modulation, or invite chaotic movement and surprise with damped cross phase modulation and damped self-feedback. Even the onboard function generator can sing, enabling audio rates for pulsar synthesis that can be operated independently from the main oscillator. Despite the PhD in DSP you might need to fully understand K-Accumulator's synthesis engine, the morphing matrix architecture allows these many manipulations to be smoothly and seamlessly explored through intuitive manual control.
Even further possibilities abound when employing K-Accumulators twenty-three patchable points of external signal integration, with most primary CV inputs featuring dedicated attenuverters for precision control. In addition to CV control over the frequency, shift, depth, morph, and shape controls, the primary oscillator in K-Accumulator offers CV inputs for thru-zero phase modulation, damped/pulsar control, and an external input which can be used as an external sync source or for pitch-tracking an external source to use K-Accumulator to harmonize with external sources. Its outputs offer both the sine and cosine waves, creating unique stereo space through the phase differences on each output as it is manipulated by the waveshaping engine. Control root frequency for the oscillator section, function generator, or both, with both 12-TET and Just Intonated quantization, multiple scales of frequency control, and a dedicated detune control in the modulation oscillator for inharmonic applications.
At the left side of K-Accumulator, a highly flexible function generator is onboard for additional modulation or audio sources. Multiple unique internal trigger modes, looping capability for LFO and audio rate oscillation, thru-zero FM, and onboard waveshaping make this a potent source of signal manipulation for either K-Accumulator itself or anywhere in your system. To the right of the function generator, a Delta-Sigma pattern generator enables stepped and smooth pseudo-random pattern modulation, providing an onboard sequencer for root frequency, or any other parameter. With its immensely capable and unique synthesis engine alongside flexible and creative onboard modulation sources, Fancyyyy's K-Accumulator offers a new vision of complex oscillation for contemporary modular synthesis, translating vanguard digital signal processing into a familiar form factor for deep sonic exploration, intuitive skronking, and new musical forms yet unheard."

MultiWAVE Press release follows:
Make Noise is proud to announce: MultiWAVE!
MultiWAVE is an 8-channel dual wavetable oscillator for the New Universal Synthesizer System or any Eurorack modular synthesizer. It uses a single set of controls to generate audio waveforms at eight independent channel outputs.
Each of the eight MultiWAVE channels contains two independent wavetable oscillators, Osc A and Osc B, each loading its own wavetable with variable frequency, modulation and wavetable position.
MultiWAVE includes an output header for creating pre-patched connections to the audio signal inputs of two QXG modules. When grouped up with PoliMATHS it creates the 8-channel core of the New Universal Synthesizer System.
8-channel dual wavetable oscillator with a single set of controls
Sequence A and B oscillators (per channel) independently or together via 4 Follow modes
Generate polyphonic activations from monophonic sequences using Modulation Dissemination, Span modes, Spread, and Accumulate
Variable timbre per channel via Spread and Modulation Dissemination

Roland Future Design Lab and Neutone Introduce Project LYDIA
Press release follows:
A Technology Preview Exploring AI, DIY Culture, and the Future of Music Creation
Los Angeles, November 11, 2025 — Roland Future Design Lab, the advanced technologies research group of Roland Corporation, announces Project LYDIA, an audio processing platform preview created in collaboration with Neutone, developers of next-generation AI tools for musicians and artists. Project LYDIA merges Neutone’s trainable AI software with Roland’s hardware expertise, using a Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer to deliver a compact, stage-ready prototype that reimagines DIY innovation for a new generation.
Bridging AI and DIY Creativity
Roland’s legacy in DIY music creation began in 1981 with AMDEK (Analog Music Digital Electronic Kits), a line of build-it-yourself kits that encouraged musicians to experiment with technology. Today, Roland Future Design Lab revisits that spirit, asking how modern creators can explore sound through emerging AI tools.
AI for Sound Discovery and Exploration
Powered by Neutone’s Morpho technology, Project LYDIA, named after DIY and AI, uses “neural sampling” to learn the tonal qualities of any sound and apply it to another in real time, with the sonic results ranging from highly musical to exotic and surprising. The current Project LYDIA mockup houses a Raspberry Pi 5 computer running Neutone’s special version of Morpho alongside Roland’s latest ideas for a simple, tactile control panel. Audio I/O is currently managed via a USB-connected Roland Rubix interface, with future iterations aiming to fully integrate I/O for a completely self-contained device.
AI Innovation at Roland
Project LYDIA builds on Roland’s growing exploration of AI as a creative partner for musicians. In 2024, Roland and Universal Music Group (UMG) jointly introduced the Principles for Music Creation with AI, a framework outlining shared commitments to ethical and artist-centered innovation.
“Roland has taken a leadership role globally in practicing responsible development with AI for music creation,” said Paul McCabe, Senior Vice President of Research and Innovation at Roland. “Part of being responsible is getting input from creators on what they find useful, helpful, or inspiring, and what ideas may not be welcome in their workflows. Releasing Project LYDIA as a technology preview allows us to demonstrate possibilities, seek community input, optimize, and improve.”
Shaping the Future Together
Project LYDIA debuted at the Audio Developer Conference taking place November 10 through November 12 in Bristol, UK, inviting feedback from the creative community to guide future research in AI-driven music tools. Musicians and makers can share their thoughts and ideas via a short survey here.
To learn more about the inspiration and technology behind Project LYDIA, visit Roland’s feature story on Roland Future Design Lab.
