"A very cool granular synthesizer app called Sylo S ynth."

Sylo Synthesiser - Matthew Rosenfeld

"What's New in Version 1.1.2

Version 1.1.2:

• Compatibility fix for users still running older versions of iOS

Tip for upgraders: Looking for the Sync Speed button? Double tap the Grain Speed control! :)

Version 1.1:

Interact with other Apps!
• Open recordings (samples or performances) in other Apps
• AudioCopy/AudioPaste support
- AudioPaste from another app to use as the basis of a new instrument
- AudioCopy your current instrument or a recorded performance to another App
• Performances can now be uploaded to Dropbox

Improved UI!
• New stylish graphics and layout [older UI]
• Sliders replaced by dials
- Easier to grab with your finger
- All controls available without needing to scroll
- Dials pop up their exact value when touched/changed
• Individual ADSR dials
- You can now set attack, decay, sustain and release using dial controls
- You can still change these settings directly by dragging the ADSR graph with your finger
• Scrollable keyboard
- Instead of jumping to low/med/hi octaves, you can view any part of the keyboard you wish, by tapping/dragging on the mini 88-key keyboard
- Keys now have optional note and octave number labels
• Faster, smoother panning and zooming in the Wave View

Improved audio!
• optional Automatic Gain Control
• Warning light if audio clips (due to gain being up too loud)
• (iOS 4.x only) Speed optimisations using 4.x hardware acceleration features
• ADSR bugfixes

Please note:
• The free version of Sylo Synth is now ad supported. The pro version (upgrade via in-app purchase) does not contain ads. Some features listed above are only available in the pro version."

BSTV: How to Make a Beat With Truckasauras
YouTube Uploaded by BigShotMag on Nov 12, 2010

"Seattle-based lo-fi sound insurrectionists Truckasauras -- Adam Swan, Tyler Swan, Ryan Trudell, and Dan Bordon -- are known for mish-mashing a cornucopia of sights and electronic sounds during their live shows and in the studio. With the release of their electro-fueled second album, Quarters, we asked the band to send us a video tour of their studio. But what we received from these Northwest nutters completely blew our mind. If machines like TR-808, SH-101, Sequential Tom and TB-303 turn you on, and you don't mind seeing snippets of girls wrestling in oil and random explosions between scenes, well, get ready to watch some serious studio hijinks go down Truckasauras style. Wait, is Ryan making a tune with a Game Boy? Hold me, please.

Bob Moog Tribute Library For Omnisphere Overview

YouTube Uploaded by dazexus on Mar 21, 2011

"Here is a quick look at some patches from the newly released Bob Moog Tribute Library for Spectrasonics Omnisphere which I had the extreme privilege to contribute to!

All proceeds goto the Bob Moog Foundation, more info about the library and the great cause its in aid of, can be found here: http://www.spectrasonics.net/products/tribute/index.php"

Not your average TR808

"If you examine the right side of my TR808 here you'll notice three inputs and a little switch. "Hmmm..." you are wondering, "what are these for?" Well I'm glad you asked! First of all the little switch there disables (and then re-enables) the built in reverb on the clap. You'll always hear a bit of reverb on a regular 808's clap, however when turned off with a modification like this it can sound quite interesting, mainly because we're so used to the reverb on it probably."

DX5 playing Depeche Mode "Halo"

YouTube Uploaded by DX5 on Mar 28, 2011

"Done in a quick way (as always).
Filter is controlled by key velocity, it is not very approached as it is played live and is difficult to apply the right pressure for close/open filter.

Gear:
Upper: Emu EMAX II HD (includes a FX sampled with my voice at the beginning)
Mid: Roland JP8000
Low: Kurzweil PC1x

Backtrack recorded in Pro Tools. Just the drums and some fx."

57 258v Dual Oscillator Scoped

YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 28, 2011

"I just borrowed a Mark Verbos Buchla format 258v Dual Oscillator module. I put it in my boat and this is my very first encounter with it. I have no idea what to expect or how it is supposed to work apart from the obvious. That's why I mistake the gray jack for a voltage output and try to drive the waveform input with it. This little thing sounds absolutely lovely and I'm sure it would complement the current Buchla 200e offerings very nicely. Definitely a more classic analog tone to it which I presume is due to the fact that it actually is very much analog."
