Korg Pa4X Keyboard Sets Strings QR

Published on Nov 12, 2017 Qui Robinez

"On the pa4x you can combine up till three sounds to create one sound. This is done with the Keyboards Sets feature. There you can create your own combinations of sounds and set things like the keyzone range for that specific combination.

In this keyboard set i use three of my own sounds to create a string ensemble which i use to play a song solo (with style elements).

It's really easy to create such keyboard sets. Just select three of your favorite sounds and set the keyboard range, octave tuning and more per sound and add the effects to the keyboard set. Then save that as a custom keyboard set and you can use it any time you want."

ARP Little Brother Demo

Published on Feb 26, 2017

Demo starts at :45.

"Short demo of my newly acquired ARP Little Brother synthesizer expander accompanying my ARP Axxe. The Little Brother arrived in pretty good working order, no repairs needed, although some minor maintenance is in order for a couple of loose switches. It sounds just wonderful. First part of the video shows the AXXE settings. Pretty basic, both oscillators running, filter wide open, short attack and fairly quick release. I programmed a short sequence on my Engine sequencer which has some staccato notes, some longer notes, a slide or two, etc. As the sequence plays I just hop through the different waveforms and octaves on the Little Brother to showcase the sounds. I think I play with the vibrato a little bit including turning on the vibrato delay for a few seconds."

Jeff Hunt DIY Synth Project - The Portal

Published on Oct 2, 2016 Jeff Hunt

"My DIY groovebox. I am a beginner. Just got started this year after watching videos by Casper Electronics. Highly recommended! I followed up by researching 9v/12v single supply circuits, and after much trial and error I came up with this final product. Many thanks to the folks on the Synth DIY forums on Facebook and elsewhere for tons of advice. Also many thanks to Nicolas Collins and his book Handmade Electronic Music for lots of tips. Feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for watching!

Square/Sawtooth/Triangle waves
16-step sequencer based on a simple 40106/4040/4067 design for the oscillator
8-step sequencer based on a 40106/4040/4051 design for drums

I did install a clock input but haven't even tried it yet. I think I may have to build an external clock adapter module to make it work right due to the way I timed everything.

Sound processing circuits based on the following designs with my modifications:

--MS20 style lowpass filter with lfo modulation by Tim Escobedo

--"Little Angel" chorus by Frequency Central

--"Funky MF" multimode envelope follower filter by Frequency Central http://www.frequencycentral.co.uk/

--"Echo Bender" delay by Casper Electronics http://casperelectronics.com/finished...

BURG - neon (Abstrakt instruments Avalon bassline)

"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/ and https://www.patreon.com/theBURG

This track is also available for download on bandcamp: https://ollilaboratories.bandcamp.com...

So I got the Abstrakt instruments Avalon bassline the other day, really missing the 303 style sounds since i sold my TB-3 it is safe to say my expectations were very high on this one.

I plugged it in, and it just took me into this hypnotic trance stage almost at an instant... i have no idea what was going on, I tried adding hihats, playing melodies on the volca keys, ms-20 etc.. but nothing felt right.. this 8 step sequence just wanted to breathe. And on my does it breathe and sound great. I'm completely blown away by this machine, possibly one of the best purchases I have made since I got my ms-20.

What you see and hear is me macro controlling the avalon knobs, cutoff, envelopes, accents to make it fluid and have the bassline progress over time .. also i did not want the other sounds to take too much space since this is all about the square bassline, period.

18 minutes might be a bit over the top with a 8 step sequence in 121 bpm, but man, i could easily play this for 20 minutes more :)

This is way more minimal in style that I normally do with BURG; but it felt so right to just take all the extra icing off of this one since the Avalon just wanted the space on this track.

Digitakt does the kick, rimshot, and a couple of dubby chords and a low-end sub-bass, volca bass does another filter modulated bass on top. FM does some stabs routed through the Avalon external in.

Modular sound sources, braids and rings background melodies + BIA for percussion.

Gear used: Abstrakt instruments Avalon, Elektron digitakt, KORG volca bass, KORG volca FM, tr-8 (just for sidechain FX on the volca bass).

FX used, RE-20 + Keeley caverns on modular, EQD space spiral and built-in FX in the Elektron analog four for the avalon.

Hope you will enjoy it!

BoOoM!"
