Berlin School 960 Sequencer - Step Inputs/Outputs

video upload by O.Z. Hall

"This demo shows how to use the step inputs and outputs to control which steps in the sequence are played. This is a classic Tangerine Dream technique to break the monotony of playing the same 8 steps repeatedly.
I'm using the Swiss Daisy DSP as a virtual analog voice with delay. The controls I'm adjusting are the wet/dry mix, the envelop to VCF amount and the VCF cutooff frequency.
The simplest example of using the step in/out would be to take the step out from step 5 and connect it to the step in on step 1. This would result in the first four steps being played. (i.e. a reset to change the sequence length from 8 to 4 steps).
In order to quickly repatch to select the step out and step in, I have used a dual 4:1 selector switch, the Frequency Central 'Where" module:
https://synthcube.com/cart/frequencyc...
(no, I'm not paid for this link).
The top switch selects the beginning step; the bottom the ending step.
If the ending step number is BEFORE the beginning step number, the sequence skips the "ending" note and jumps (forward) to the "beginning" note.
One other wrinkle, the "step out" stays high for the entire step duration. I have turned this 100% "gate" into a trigger by running it through an A/D envelope.
One other note, I'm using row three to adjust volumes at each step."

Hardware Jams Weekend Challenge: From Scratch in C Aeolian (wonky timing)

video upload by SynthAddict

"Hardware Jams Weekend Challenge: From Scratch
(no pre-made seqs allowed) in C Aeolian

Timing gets a little wonky, and this is take 8, so I left it like a live concert with lots of imperfections (including the timing).
Some parts were a bit polymetric, but some polyrhythm creeps in there too. :-P

Gives it a weird time-shifted feel as parts go in and out of sync.
It might drive you a little crazy...
Working on stuff late at night has its price sometimes.

2022/04 - TriPhonic 2600 - song 1/3

video upload by Stereoping

"Funny result while learning to work with the Arturia #keystep pro. Each VCO of the #2600 is controlled by it's own Keystep track (VCO 2&3 by CV) and playing individual melody lines through 8 patterns. 4th track going to the #NordDrum2 being realtime controlled with two Synth Controllers. Main drums from a midisynced DIY-808 with manually switched pattern. Song one of three."

Soma Pulsar 23 - Best drum machine ever? - First Contact

video upload by Friendly Noise

"A first contact with the Soma Pulsar 23, arguably the most amazing if not the best drum machine ever made. The combination of sound quality, easy of use, open design, interconnectivity and interactivity makes the Soma a fantastic piece of musical gear, and which is more important, a real instrument to play with."

New Akai MPC KEY61 Workstation Keyboard In the Works

Just a teaser pic and low-res render below for now, but there you have it.

Two mod wheels, full size keyboard, classic MPC pads, large display and buttons. Curious what the two verticle strips are to the left of the pads. There appears to be 8 sections in each or 4 x 2.
