MEK by Awakened_Yeti
Title link takes you to an all MEK track by Awakened_Yeti. Enjoy.
"Here is a song i made using only the mono evolver keyboard. No other sound sources were used, and no effects, EQ, or dynamics processing was used (except for a bit of compression on the final mix for mastering purposes). Everything is raw evolver sounds, and no presets were used. For the drums, i made one shot samples, and loaded them into NI Battery as a kit to be triggered by MIDI - but no changes were made to the sounds themselves."

Electro Harmonix Sequencer
Update: Be sure to check out gavin's Fancy & Spook.gavin posted a few items on AH for sale. One of them was the Electro Harmonix Sequencer Drum which I had not seen before. He posted some details on the unit for sale (below). I asked him if I could post the image and details and not only did he give me the all clear, he sent me an image of his later model Sequencer for comparison and an mp3. Title link takes you to the mp3. Thanks gavin!
Top image: "electro harmonix sequencer drum - early model (without cv out/clk in/reset in - an easy mod?) - 8 step sequencer with built-in tone generator(clean square wave) - controls for pitch, rate, & decay. sequence triggered by pad at front or from trigger in, repeat or single mode, gated by pad/trigger or clock pulse. lots of blippy fun - only selling it as got 2! us voltage model."
This bottom image is the later model.

Moog Song Producer

Remember the Moog Song Producer? Click here for more shots pulled via this auction.
via adrien.
Details from the auction:
"It is a midi interface(4out / 1in / 1 thru) for the Commodore 64. It also has 8 trigger outs, clock in/out and foot switch control. It has a faux cartridge which is how it interfaces with the c64. It includes software an extensive manual and schematics."
Update via Gerald in the comments:
"I have one of these. Someone found a warehouse of them and put them up on ebay a couple years ago. You can tell this one is from this lot by the box's water damage. Although it is cool beyond cool, it doesn't work with any of the existing SID-midi software such as Triad's Midislave. I believe that it would be next to trivial for Midislave to be changed to work with the Moog, but alas the author seemed annoyed by the request. Since there are at least 20-30 of these midi interfaces in existence, it may in fact out number the Sequential Circuits, Datel, and Passport catridges.
The software is painful... not particularly graphical, with keyboard shortcuts galore. The best thing about the software is that it is an early example of open source... they encourage you to copy as often as you like."
Back to the Future
Remember this post on "The Great Bleep Forward?" Title link takes you to more synth content on the BBC's 6 Music. It looks like they are on a synth run at the moment. Also note a new episode for The Great Bleep Forward is up, so be sure to check back on these.

Trippler.Net
It's been almost a year since I put up this post on Trippler.Net, however I've put up a number of posts featuring Stefan Trippler since I started this blog. Stefan recently posted a few links to his Evolver pages on AH. I decided to check them out again, along with the rest of his site. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend checking it out. As of this post you will find tons of info and samples of the following synths: Waldorf MicroQ, DSI Evolver (all versions), MiniMax ASB, and Virsyn Tera 2. What's great about his samples is that they are pretty diverse, and usually utiliz the given synth for all tracks in the piece. Really good stuff.

Leisure Cove and The Shamblers - Moog Rogue

via The Shambler's MySpace page. The track "Revs Cost" features a Moog Rogue "filtering a lap steel and feeding a Tapco 4400." Interesting track. Reminds me of something Tom Waits might do minus the vocals. The image of the Moog Rogue comes from The Shamblers blog, Leisure Cove, where you will find a few more shots.

360 Systems SEMs?
Title link takes you to a post on sequencer.de which alludes to this 360 Systems Spectre module as being an Oberheim SEM in disguise. If you know anything about this unit, feel free to comment.BTW, check out sequencer.de for a few other tasty synth posts including the Akai AX60 and Roland S330 editing interface.
Update via retrosynth in the comments:
"It's an SEM along with some really poor pitch to CV tracking and an envelope follower thrown in. There's normally a cable for a hex pickup on the far left but on this unit the cable had been cut. This unit had the CV/gate output jacks switched to CV/gate inputs. Unfortunately the amplitude envelope is modified for input from the envelope follower so it only has an attack control, no decay or sustain. It could easily be fixed though. Pictures of the internals here.
Update via Sequenberheim in the comments:
"I worked there.
It tracked even worse than you say.
It was the SEM module. They had a deal with Oberheim to buy and use them.
They didn't have much for gear archives but they did have the very rare 6 SEM guitar synth there too. It was 6 separate SEM modules with 6 of the pitch glitchers as I called them.
They also made a programable parametric EQ that is very rare. The 360 frequency shifter is a rare one too."

Casio CZ-2000S
I knew about the CZ-1000, CZ-3000, and CZ-5000 Phase Distortion synths from Casio, but not the CZ-2000S. Check out the built in speakers. It looks like the home keyboard version of the CZ series. Title link takes you to some more shots pulled from this Chinese auction sent my way via Sonicbrat. Sonicbrat was on the hunt for Chinese synths and found a few including this one. The majority of what he did find on Chinese auctions were home keyboards and arranger style workstations. If he puts a post up I'll be sure to link to it. BTW, if you know of any Chinese synths please feel free to comment.
