"in the year 2001 I found a hint in the internet concerning a modular synthesizer system to be built in 'do it yourself' method which based on the Elektor Formant Synthesizer of the 70s. All you needed was a book "Formant-Pro MSS2000" by Hans-Joachim Helmstedt.I ordered the book and startet the project. On the following pages I will present my synthesizer project: (the diary is updatet periodically)"

Secretly Spanking The Monkey via SoNiCbRaT
"We doodled and played with gears and decided to mess around and recorded the outcome. So here's a recording of the half hour noise/synthesis/electronic improvisation session (we were just wacking). And so we went crazy on this one, some nice moments featuring the Tenori-on vs Nintendo DS lite mid way through about 17:05 onwards till about 25:30 (Pathein rawks again); and WY had some flair with my Roland SH101 as he concocted some "bleepy-droney-sireny" noises with modulations and for the cat growls at 23:25 onwards :D ... the sherman filterbank 2 seriously bled our ears, with some bird-like talks and glitches of course... Highly disturbing sounds and noises. We dare you to listen through headphones..."1) Doepfer A-100 Modular System

Novation Bass Station
"The Novation Bass Station is an excellent piece of kit, that is more than capable of TB 303 emulation, the included manual, ( copy ) even gives the settings for the classic 303 sound, and with 12 and 24 db filter, is even capable of big fat moogs aswell. Although being called a BASS station it can produce untold amounts of sounds, so is brilliant for lead sounds that scream, and those true analogue sounds too."

iPod Touch/iPhone for Music Round-up
CDM has a great round up on Music apps for the iPhone. Note that the formal SDK is not out for those that do not want to crack their iPhones, however it is expected to arrive sometime in June. Now Apple just needs to make a multi-touch tablet.Excerpt from CDM:
"If we’ve learned one thing on this site, it’s this: if it’s a computer, big or small, someone’s going to find a way to make music. The iPod / iPhone, with their Mac OS-derived software guts and a multi-touch interface, are no exception — with or without Apple’s blessing. Here’s a look at what people are doing, including some apps you can download right now, and where this might go musically, whether it’s just a couple of fun toys or trying to make that pretty pocket device an instrument."
