Korg Sigma

YouTube via ikworgek. via this auction
"Korg Sigma with a Kenton pro-solo.
Weird old Korg synth with nice filter (same as MS20) and ringmodulation"
via this auction
"Its classified as bi-timbral synthesizer with sound sources coming from two sections the "synthe" section and the "instrument" section. You have control over the mix of these sections, you can also ring modulation the synth section with the instrument section for some really wild sounds.

The really unique portions about this synth are the two joysticks for multi dimensional control over filters, pitch, noise, and vibrato. Sample and Hold. The keyboard is pressure sensitive like aftertouch, portamento. There is also a quartertone rocker for switching to micro tuning! :) What's also interesting is it seems as though you can play up to 18 voices at a time with all synths and instruments enabled, create a mega wall of sound, then filter it, ring mod, and twist it."

Moog / MOTM Fixed Filter Bank PCB

Via JH on the AH list:

"Hi,

some of you may still remember my efforts to make a modern version of the Moog Fixed Filter bank (the smaller model, 907) for Synthesis Technology / MOTM.

This is a faithful reproduction of the original passive circuit topology, but with the inductors replaced with low noise General Impedance Converter technology. (Not the "usual" noisy single-opamp Gyrator circuits!)

Now that Paul has announced not to release this as a MOTM module, I have decided to offer PCBs for this. (I have a working prototype in my studio for many years, so all I have to do is make a PCB layout.)

In order to decide if it makes sense to do this, from an economical point of view, I'd like to get some feedback from all who are seriously interested in such PCBs. Please send an email to jhaible debitel.net if interested. (These are *not* binding pre-orders yet - just to see how much demand there is.)

As for pricing: It will probably be two 160 x 100 mm PCBs, so I expect a price of 54 Euros for the two PCBs.

I know there have been samples published for this (probably by myself, or by Paul). If anybody has a link to these samples, please post it.

Looking forward to hear from you,

JH."

Waldorf Blofeld Bass

YouTube via Bruce73X. vis fischek.
"This is a bassline test with the great little Synthesizer Waldorf Blofeld. Neither a perfect track nor a perfect video, but it shows how the Blofeld can sound and how one can work with it. The sequence comes from the Blofelds internal arpeggiator.

Most of the crackling noises and bumping rhythms result from the bad recording situation - except the noises while I change effect parameters of the (sometimes) used internal "Triple FX" (bit reduction is desired ;), but the noise while I turn the knob is a bug).

Additional drums by Jomox M-Base 01 and D16 Nepheton. No additional effects or mixwork applied, only slightly limiting and eqing the master-track."

Waldorf Microwave XT, Used 4 "music" signed by Madonna

via this auction
"The synth is a Waldorf Microwave XT Ltd Edition, which was a limited edition "grey" version of the normal orange synth and only manufactured in limited edition. It got Madonna's signature on the back, and is in very good condition (only been used in the studio). It comes with manual and power supply (euro), but I don't have the original box anymore. The synth was borrowed to Mirwais during the recording of Madonna's album "Music" at Sarm West in London, and was used on the tracks produced by Mirwais including the no1 single "Music" for the album.

Here's the story

I used to be in a band and we were at the time signed to Sony. Our manager and his wife used to be the studio manager for Sarm West in London (as well as our band) and took care and organized everything for all the artists recording there. Madonna came to record her "Music" album there and she organized everything and took care of her and the producers. When Mirwais came to record his tracks for the album he needed a Waldorf Microwave synth but none of the rental companies had one stock. I happened to have one in the studio across the road, so he borrowed it and they had it in the studio until the tracks were finished for the album. I asked my managers if Madonna could sign it as a "thanks" and she did before they returned it.

I guarantee that this item is 100% authentic, and my managers got their names in the record sleeve "thank you's" to confirm my story. The story was also featured briefly in a couple of Music magazines in connection with our band."

For those interested in the Madonna connection, you can find her sig on Google.

The Last of the PSYCHO SHIFT REGISTERS

via Cynthia on the Cyndustries list:
"Howdy, we have four Psycho Shift Register modules in stock above and beyond the few that are presently shipping to fulfill past orders. They're all fresh off the boat from Australia and have been blessed and tweeked to perfection by the man Ken Stone himself!

http://tinyurl.com/cs79pr

These are the last four Analog Shift Register modules we ever made. They are perhaps THE most rare and zany module ever offered by us and when they are gone, of course they will be history!

http://tinyurl.com/cpd9ju

Not to be confused with the Super Psycho LFOs, These Psycho Shift Registers are ideal for making cascading melodies, and arabesque patterns as described in the September 1976 issue of Synapse Magazine.

http://tinyurl.com/7wzprr

There is no other module like this out there combing so many features with an Analog Shift Register, it creates it's own little universe of fun exploration. Grab one now while you still can!"

"If you weren't really feeling the need to have an old Roland TR-727, maybe this could change your mind. Diabolical Devices has modified this Latin percussion version of the 707 to have pitch mods for nearly every sound, a few global bends and a cymbal delay bend. You can turn the individual bends on and off. There's also an insane banana plug patch bay on the left hand side allowing you to link various bending points that's not even in this video. More demos soon!"
