Kriminal 2009 FELIX VSTi

Features.
1 VCO (saw/tri/pulse) plus white noise generator
1 LFO - sine/square/S+H
2 SubOsc's : square (-1 and -2 oct)
VCF - 4pole LP self oscillating filter
VCA - ADSR
200+ Presets
The real powerful area of the Kitten was the modulation - the LFO / Sample+Hold routing to modulate the ADSR / VCO / VCF - it could produce many interesting effects and S&H sounds - ive tried to capture this in FELIX, as well as making it versatile in the normal spectrum of sounds.
thanks to Jonathan Styles for the 'big knobs, and Michael Cavallo, Steven West, Shamanix, Luftrum, DLN and musicorner for patches."

MGMT - Time To Pretend cover on Alesis Ion synthesizer
YouTube via adzy31
"Another attempt at covering an MGMT track, randomly decided to start this yesterday morning. The drum track is from Reason, all other sounds are from the Ion, played live (apart from the plucking sound which i prerecorded as I didn't have enough hands :P)
Again, no vocals, i tried adding some but it was just bad. Unlike my previous MGMT video (Kids) i decided to do the whole song."
Vintage Jen SX-1000 Analog Synth
"Superb little analog synth with its own character and sound, nice clean leads and low bass sounds can be created, very much underated synth but has been widely used by dance music pioners since the late 1980s. Future sound of london used this alot on early tracks. Great way of learning about synth workings and sounds.
Tune - Waveform select - Glide - octave select - Pulse width - Vibrato - P.W.M - Wite/Pink noise + volume - LFO speed - and the usual envelope adsr settings"
Changing Postcards - BugBrand Newsletter

"Hi all,
I know it has been quiet on the BugMailList recently!
Most of my efforts have been going into continuing work on the ever expanding BugModular. (http://bugbrand.co.uk/modular)
Plus ongoing building of the Board & Postcard Weevils.
These have been in- & out- of-stock over the last months and I've chosen not to send updates whenever I restock these items.
But, just to keep people in the loop...
I have just added more BoardWeevils AND PostcardWeevils to the online shop - http://bugbrand.co.uk/shop
This batch of Postcards will now be the last of this design - an updated version should be appearing at the end of the month.
While the old version Postcard has proved really popular, I've felt that some updates were called for.
More details when the new design is ready to go, but briefly it will include:
- similar 3-osc design
- but with improved dials (like on the BoardWeevil) for greatly improved feel
- extra IC to stabilize the output level on the minijack - previously things would get super-loud when the power starvation was turned off.
-- this will maintain similar sounds, but improve their usability!
- improved board design will now have silk-screen legends.
- new box for lovely presentation!
The new design will be slightly larger and the price will have to be increased a bit mainly due to the improved dials used.
So - if you want to get your hands on one of the last old version PWeevils at the pre-rise price, strike now!
***** ***** ***** *****
Background work has also been continuing on a new compact BugCrusher design, but this inches forward at quite a slow pace. Hopefully I can move things in the coming months... so stay tuned!
That is that for now..
Best wishes to you all!
Tom / BugBrand"

WMD Geiger Counter Eurorack Prototype
YouTube via bigcitymusic http://bigcitymusic.com/
"This is one of the craziest Eurorack modules ever. With CV control over sample rate, bit rate and the super-cool wavetable function, this thing is a monster! We're using a Cwejman squarewave oscillator and a Plan B Elf LFO to modulate the sample rate and wavetable. There's a CV amount control for all three CV inputs as well as a knob for gain/distortion amount. These little tiny knobs are awesome too!"
Waveform Permutation Hardware
YouTube via littlescale
"I've made a simple circuit that will generate all possible waveforms that have four bits of amplitude and are four samples long. It's very simple, and follows the same concept as my previous forays into this concept (which were all software based).
Basically, there is a counter that is 16 bits long, and is pulsed by a continuous square wave. This controls the speed of waveform change of the output waveform. Every four bits of the counter are fed into a multiplexer. There is a multiplexer for each bit of the output waveform, and so every first bit out of four from the counter is fed into multiplexer 1, every second bit out of four from the counter is fed into multiplexer two and so on up to multiplexer 4.
The output of the four multiplexers is chosen by a separate binary counter, which is clocked by an independent square wave. This controls the frequency of the output waveform. Thus, the output of the combined four multiplexers essentially "steps through" the waveform, and is then converted into an analog voltage using an R2R DAC.
