Moog Minimoog Synthesizer Autographed by Bob Moog

via this auction

"This is a beautiful 1974 Moog Minimoog synthesizer (serial# 6572) that was autographed by Bob Moog.

At the 2000 NAMM show I brought the top wood trim of this instrument to the Big Briar booth, where I met Dr. Moog and asked him to sign it. He was very gracious and broke into a big grin when he saw it, as of course he recognized right away what it was. In fact, he held it up for others to see, taking a bit of delight, I'm sure, in asking who else knew what this little wooden stick was! Since that day I have always treated this instrument as a reminder of the moment I got to meet the late, great grandfather of synthesizers and have cherished his signature on it as a direct link between his hands and the legendary instrument he created. Of all the Minis out there, how many have that distinction?...

This Mini has the later ua726 containing VCO board installed. I don't want to open a debate about which generation of oscillators sound "best" but I will say that the VCOs track rock solid compared to other Minis I've played. When I detune the VCOs to get just the right fat spread I want, this is maintained up and down the keyboard and across the footages. Solid. But then again, never can I get them to perfectly line up and cancel each other out...that's the organic beauty of these oscillators, and why this instrument sounds so alive. Speaking of alive, the VCOs sound raw and huge. End of story."

The Synthesizer 3000

The Synthesizer 3000 from Matthew Lawless on Vimeo.

"Here is a short product advertisement I had to do for an assignment in Cinema 4D class. I created the synthesizer from scratch and used a mini synthesizer model that Dan McPharlin created. I don't know anything about synthesizers, so the information is about a completely different synth.

I had the hardest time rending this too, well the main reason why it was so difficult was because my school computer would stop rendering every 15minutes. It told me the license had expired on Cinema 4D, so much for an up to date school. Sorry I had to complain. Oh well Enjoy!

"This is a demonstration of a simple touch screen video instrument by Al MacDonald (twitter.com/f1lt3r). The instrument is built using the Firefox web browser with no plug ins, inspired by Brian Eno's Bloom application available on iPhone.

We used Firefox's Audio Data API to generate tones with JavaScript and push them to the audio stream of the sound card. The circles on the screen respond to touch events and are rendered using the Canvas element.

Crumar orchestrator

YouTube via wolfrmheart — March 17, 2010 — Ebay test via this auction

"The keyboard is split into 2 parts (left hand/right hand), each with Brass, Piano, Clavichord, Cello, and Violin Presets. It does have a very basic VCF (only can be used with brass preset) which has Attack, Decay, Emphasis (Resonance), and Contour (Cutoff). You can assign vibrato and Sustain too. The Brass sound can be pretty impressive (especially if you strip if of all its resonance- very fat bass). The filter self oscilates too. This comes in handy if you set the Attack/Decay to ascend/descend. It also comes with an attachable lid for easy transporting."

Steiner Crumar EVI–Analog Synthesizer Breath Controller

via this auction

"This is the amazing sounding Steiner Electronic Valve Instrument, a wind synth with trumpet fingering, glide, full scaling and octave range.
Basically an analog synthesizer with a breath controller for volume AND tone control (via one of the BEST analog filter circuits EVER!)
Square, pulse and sawtooth waves, with PWM (via breath control) and vibrato as well, via a thumb-control on the bottom of the instrument.
The sonic possibilities of this instrument go WAY beyond what is possible with a trumpet!"

Vermona DRM1 MKIII

via this auction
"The DRM1 MKIII is an eight-channel, completely analog drum synthesizer. It gives you total control over every parameter through its 72 controls.

The new version has following changes:
- KICK channel instead of the DRUM1 channel. The Kick channel has some different parameters and can create fatter and deeper kick sounds.
- The DRUM channels have a WAVE parameter which transforms the oscillator's waveform from sine to square
- The oscillators of the DRUM channels will be started with each trig signal.

The DRM1 Mk III is a flexible 8-channel drum synthesizer, which gives you the ability to create your own sounds, as well as many other classic analog drum sounds. Every sound parameter of the DRM1 Mk III has its own controller, so its easy to use and you'll always have a clear picture of the settings.

Features
Control Features and Connections:
· MASTER: Sets the main output level of the DRM1 Mk III
· TRIG: Button for triggering the sound.
· TRIG LED: Flashes when the sound is triggered
· SOUND: Programming parameter controls

Kodak Zi8 Mic Input Test 1080p Korg ESX Alesis Micron

YouTube via zamisers7k — May 03, 2010 — "Nothing special, just testing out the Kodak Zi8 Mic input to see how youtubee it'll work for using with demos in HD so don't have to mix/sync vid and sound in post edit.

The Micron is going to line in on the ESX, ESX to Yamaha MW10 mixer, monitoring on Sony MDR-150 phones from phones out, CR out to Zi8 Camera. Directly uploaded to Youtube from Zi8 plugged in to USB port after recording.

Results: So far seem OK. Upload seemed a bit slower than usual, don't know if due to USB or size of file, or internet being slow at the moment. I will have to watch again after u/l to see how well it came out. Input seemed hot even though I turned it down on the camera and from mixer to a point that wasn't my usual listening level, but I tend to listen to stuff pretty loudly. Camera also doesn't seem to focus up real close that well and have to pull back a little ways. Thing is I noticed, is I still needed a mixer with multiple outs so I could split input to two outputs. One for monitoring, the other to the camera. I suppose I could use the L&R mono out 1/4 to an 1/8 from synth in to the camera and monitor from the synth's phones out if it has both, many do, however not all synths do, and I may want to include a mic for narration or other sound sources, too much BS to chain up but can be possible without mixer depending on gear, so I won't loose the mixer just yet either way."

1980 Yamaha SK20 Analog Synthesizer

via this auction

"This is a vintage Yamaha model SK-20 analog synthesizer/keyboard made in the late 1970s. All of the functions have been tested. There is some static when the volume slide switch for organ, string and poly-synth are moved but the switches work fine. Also, one slide switch button has been replaced (see picture). The optional accessories, including head phones, foot switch and the foot controller pedal are not included. The cabinet has several dings and damaged edges and there is light corrosion on some of the metal fittings. The serial number is illegible. Included is an Ace padded gig bag that is worn and has tears on the corner, but overall it is in serviceable condition."
